There’s also the thing that players were looking forward too that was the end of the pre sequel and what the watcher says and that a huge war is coming and all vault hunters need to stand together against it to survive. Nothing in BL3 hinted to that at all not even one bit and there was nothing in the DLCs either.
I completely agree. I started playing the dlcs and the game was much more enjoyable than the main story. Good game but poor execution of the narrative. Yeah I also noticed that "big war thing" was forgotten to and its probably because Gearbox saw that the pre-sequel didn't hold up good in the long run so they dumped the idea.
There's no doubt the main story sucks but in terms of gameplay skill trees action skills most characters and the dlcs it's easily the best in the franchise no argument
I agree. Handsome Jack also thought he was the hero of the story, even before you kill him he can’t believe toy won cause he is the hero. I knew Gearbox could never out do Handsome Jack but I was at least hoping that the villains were at least somewhat good or there was a good plot twist but no it was just bad and they fucked up the supporting characters this time also. Tannis they changed a lot while still trying to keep her her rational scientific self but then they tried way too hard. Lilith was a badass siren and when they took her powers she didn’t only become weak but acted weak in how she talked and Lilith wouldn’t have done that. They even messed up Tina, Brick and Mordecai which I didn’t think was possible. The DLCs were a lot better but you still have to get through the vanilla game to get to the endgame and DLCs.

The story kind of sucks but it’s borderlands I don’t know what you’re expecting
A story just as good or better than the last game. The story itself may have not been bad. It's just writin poorly
