  • Tiny rehearsal at home of my latest single "Dead Man's Lullaby".
    There are two types of people, the ones that likes the saxophone, and the ones that hates it, which one are you?
    It's my first time playing the saxophone live, I decided to learn this instrument a couple of months ago to add new sounds and textures to my music.
    In a world where artificiality reigns, I chose to discover a real instrument for the first time, because for me there is nothing that compares to feeling the vibrations of an instrument, playing it, holding it and blowing on it in this case.
    It was (and still is) a long path of frustrations, tired lips and old ship sounds in the beggining, but it was worth it. I'm far from be called a saxophonist because I have a lot to keep learning and practicing, but I'm happy to find a new sound for some of my songs.
    I know the saxophone could be an instrument you hate or love. For me is the only wind instrument that I had the chance to learn and since always got my attention that it is a wooden instrument made of metal, and its sound can be used in so many genres.
    I was inspired to learn the sax by artists like David Bowie, PJ Harvey, among others.
    This video was meant to be just for some social media, but I decided to make a horizontal version leave it here to show you a tiny performance.
    Let me know if you would like to see more videos of my original songs like this one.
    Thanks for watching!

    Great performance and a big surprise with this sax so well incorporated into the song . I never liked it much except in few synthwave songs, but here it fits perfectly.. Also the sound quality of your "tiny" rehearsal is better than some studio releases nowadays., so please post more of these. Oh, and I thought that when it's said that saxophone is sexy they meant the sound of it 😍

      Hey, thank you very much for your honest. I know it is not easy to fit the sound of a sax, but I'm very glad you liked it! And I appreciate your input about the sound quality, I'm always thinking that I'm lacking of knowledge when it comes to mix and audio capabilities, so your comment helped me to feel a little more secure about it and it encourages me to continue making this type of content. Thank you!!🖤

    Wow, this is incredible and great progress on the saxophone in such little time! I really enjoyed reading your reasons for getting into saxophone as well, thank you for sharing that. I agree that too much music these days is too polished. I think Steven Wilson said it best, "Soul gets squeezed out, Edges get blunt." I love a mix of both; some digital "perfection" mixed with human imperfection. It makes great contrast and highlights our flaws in a magical way. I'm looking forward to hearing more of your music!

    • @lux_mala
      @lux_mala  8 днів тому +1

      @@ryanjavens thank you very much for your words! And thanks for taking the time to read what I wrote, nowadays not so many people take the time to do it, but it was important for me.
      I have a respect for music, musicians and real instruments. Lately I'm listening and feeling how the real soul of the music gets lost by so many processes and perfection, and it makes me a little sad. I agree with you, that it is good to have some digital perfection and human imperfection, but slowly the human part is getting in the past.
      I hope that the following generations will learn about the importance of these things, to value the time, sacrifices, discipline and dedication that we and our ancestors once put into an instrument, just to make music.
      So thanks again for your interest and good vibes ✨ wish you the best and I would love to keep listening to your things also.
      Cheers!
