This is a man venting his frustration to a room of strangers, but this is also a man who does a podcast with his wife and is happily married. No way his wife didn't hear this material before the show, I would imagine she has a good enough sense of humor to poke fun at herself. Great material and I am sure many can relate.
Nah, she's probably in the audience or back stage cracking up too. They do videos together and look like they get along well.

And if someone really loves you, they wouldn't have wanted you to be silent anyway. It is to express your wishes, and if they aren't respected you should find stronger boundaries with that individual.
Dominique Heino my point isn’t about healthy communication, my point is that asking permission isn’t healthy. “Honey, I’m in the middle of something, but if it’s important let me know.” There’s actually a difference between how you phrased it and how I did. Your asks permission, mine makes a statement with an insert for something critical. Yours assumes her time and effort is more important than yours. They should be equally important.
@@continuouswave34 I'm not sure how to answer you. It seems like what you said would be said to a child or someone you didn't know well. I would say equal is fine if you don't want to get anywhere with your relationship, but you have to build each other up to have a growing one. Like that verse says, "esteem each other more highly than yourselves."

Hahahhaha this is so spot on. I remember when I was single the guys would get together and watch sports. Slowly some of us started getting married getting into serious relationships then all of us were married and NOW we HAVE to invite the wives to watch the game. Space is limited and more importantly they are not even interested in watching the game!

His description of the subject matter is funny, but the subject matter itself isn't when you realize lots of men deal with lopsided relationships like this. @@uneezaqureshi98 Oh, she knows and understands why Steve does it. She actually thinks it's funny too.😁 Her family (my aunt, uncle, etc.) were the ones that were offended, at first. But, she explained to them that she knows it's just an act. The first time I met Steve (before they got married) was at one of his shows, so it was kind of awkward to hear him talk about Renae like that. But, he was pretty cool later on when my father and I spoke to him after. He even gave us free tickets and signed mine. I still have it.🙂
AND THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is why I am single.

I mean when it comes to hitting a woman that is different, yet what I am talking about is someone who isn't willing to try things on her own and expects a man to always pick up the slack. There is a difference of asking for help when it is needed vs. being needy and expecting the husband to do it. I mean men have their part in it to... Don't always give into what your wife wants. Its called boundaries for a reason. I do that with my mother oh God she will call me all sorts of names Because I have set boundaries.

My wife does the same exact thing. She'll come in see me watching baseball and say "can you put something else on?" I'll be like "sure what do you want to watch?" She'll be like "nothing I'm on the computer." So I'm sitting there watching The Notebook alone to make sure I don't annoy her in case she comes in again.

Looking in the comments, a lot of people don't seem exactly thrilled with being married. My marriage is delightful! Of course we spent damned near twenty years getting to know one another before making it legal! Maybe some of y'all just got married too quick, and/or too young.

@@aussiejoan People are not told the truth about what marriage is. It's a business. Think of all the money that changes hands; between the wedding, buying a house, kids, etc. And then the divorce. The whole process is an industry. It needs reform, people need to be educated. Make it harder to get married and harder to divorce. The day that divorce lawyers stop making money off other people's misery is when you will see some actual change.

A lot of people in marriages don't have those, and that's why they behave they way they do and not try to resolve things with their partner when the marriage is hitting rocks.
Try to study non western marriages(start from Africa) you'll understand what am talking about.
People say marriage is a school where you get the certificate before you start and you never graduate from.

This is so true! I was at a game with my wife and another couple. My friend and I wanted a craft beer, but the women wanted some fruity cocktail. We walked around the whole stadium to find the vendor. When we got to the front, they only sold bud light/miller lite. But the women got their cocktails!

We all change according to the given situation. Some revert back to baseline when the pressure to perform is gone. Our expectations are too high for the person we care about, at times, causing us to make decisions we regret later.
