Wonderful to hear these three only 12 years later!
Hmm.. at 8:05 the piece captioned as Shostakovitch's Fifth Symphony is actually the third of Britten's Sea Interludes
To: GuardianMusic. I just found this. Thank you very much for uploading this interview!
It's very illuminating and thought-provoking. We have to think about what Mr. Jurowski (one of my favorite conductors!) said at the end of the interview. I love You-Tube interviews!
Interesting! Many conductors have said similar sentiments about Salome and Elektra. James Levine said he'd travel far and wide to see or conduct Elektra, while he said he'd be just as happy never to see Salome again. I personally love both operas, although Elektra is undoubtedly the greater creation.
Hear hear! Elektra continues to inspire the world; truly the apex of all of opera.
Need good disc jockeys to bring people to music. Essential. Sound should be a 24hour rhapsody.
Some strange choices of colour for socks...
They all are artists ...
JSC1401: but that drab color combination of the moderator's shirt, tie, and jacket is rather disheartening
Dont like neked actresses on the opera stage!
