I am glad that they explained that the Ben 10.000 from the original show might not be Ben's real future because until now I was worried that Kevin was going to become a villain permanently and would have to be sent into the Null Void.

Eon is an evil version of Ben
The live action movie Race Against Time happened in another timeline, and Ben saw that timeline through the Hands of Armageddon in this, but it was animated, so it was not easy to tell
Ben and the others learn about the multiverse, Gwen 10 is one of them
Everytime Ben meets a future version of himself, his future will diverge from it
Interfering with the future always leads to a change for the "after".
But in this episode they say that what we saw in "Ben 10,000" was an alternate timeline, which ruins the story a bit because, for those who remember all the details of the episode, from the beginning viewers would think that now Ben 10,000 is a different one due to Ben and Gwen's interference in the future (they also brought Grandpa Max a cake from the future, which didn't happen in the OG future timeline and so that's why everything should be changed), but Paradox himself claims that that was another timeline, so it kinda ruins it.

It has never been said anywhere that Ben's future changes when he meets himself in the future, in fact, this canonically makes no sense, since Ultimate Ben remembers everything that happened in the past and in "Let's Do the Time War Again" , Ben literally knows himself from minutes in the past and the future doesn't change. Furthermore, Paradox and Azmuth state that Ben has a great future at the beginning of UA, which indicates that they know what will happen in the future and that the future will not change. Personally, I like to think that Ultimate Ben is the future of Ben Prime, and that Ben 10k from OV is the future of Ultimate Ben.

Ben said to Ultimate Ben "You're my real future", that's the implication that the classic Ben 10k is no longer his future, it is now* considered a paralel world. Think about it, young Ben now knows how much of a jerk classic Ben 10k was, so with that knowledge, he won't become that version anymore.
Ultimate Ben did* remember everything in the past, but he did not get the new Omnitrix, hence, never met Skurd. And OV Ben 10k did* know Skurd, so he's a different Ben.
In Let's Do the Time War Again, yes, Ben meets a future version of himself, meaning he will never become OV Ben 10k, but that does not mean they can still visit each other, branching timelines, duh
A long time ago I was always very confused about Eon, because in the movie he said he was an alien from a race called the Chronian, but then in this episode he reveals he's an alternate Ben Tennyson, so I was like "What the...".
But then I realized that in Eon's timeline the Chronians are an alternate version of humans who have natural powers.
Also, I love this episode's references to Race Against Time and the Ben 10.000 episode.
UA can be rough, but it does have its gems.

This is random, but something I've been wondering about for years, if this Ben 10,000 can use his alien's powers without transforming, then can't he use Alien X's powers without having to convince Serena and Belicus?
Ben 10,000 gave Prime Ben new aliens in the future.
Eon is threaten despite the retcon.
That future was never going to happen anyways, because if you remember Ben10k never gave the birthday cake to max but our Ben did.
I like how back to back we had references to both the live action movies.

RAT being not cannon to our universe, but cannon to the multiverse aswell as the Gwen 10 and Alien X Albedo from a video game but im no sure, afterall they're just small references.

About Ben 10,000; a lot of people I've seen in the Ben 10 community seems to be confused about this.
The Ben 10,000 that Ben and Gwen met in the original series was NOT an alternate unrelated universe. The future they went to was not some random universe.
It was the original future of the timeline. Everything happened exactly the same way in that universe up until the moment future Gwen brought Ben and Gwen to the future.
The timeline changed from there on because of future Gwen's spell. So the moment future Gwen opened the portal to the timeline changed and this is the future Ben now.
That's why the original Ben 10,000 or Gwendolyn didn't remember going to the future when they were kids, because they didn't.
But original Ben 10,000 does give Ben a cake for granpa Max's birthday. He literally says the cake is "something I should've gotten grandpa 20 years ago"
So he was there that day, at Max's birthday, everything happened the same except for them travelling into the future.
So Ben was probably careless and he forgot to get a cake as we saw in the beginning of that episode. But the timeline changed after that.
The original future is still intact as we saw from the Ken 10 episode, but it as a different future to the timeline we see onwards the original series Ben 10k episode.
And in this episode them saying this Ultimate Ben 10,000 is now Ben's true future doesn't make any sense because since they met, the future must've changed again.
By the way this comment has no spoilers. These are the exact same thoughts I had when I first saw this episode 12 years ago.
Well paradox did say it was cross time, when 2 parallel timelines meet at 1 point in time. I always just figured Ben 10,000 was from an alternate future in which he didn't break the recalibrated omnitrix instead just swapped the Omnitrix core with the albedo modification ultimatrix core.
The future is constantly changing
@MrMisterman1 yeah lots of timeline bridging. I'm pretty sure everytime ben meets his future self the timeline branches off and he becomes a different adult ben due to what he's learned from his older selves
but they can still visit the other timelines so atleast when the timelime changes the futures don't get erased they just branch off

Fun fact, Ben 10.000 from the original Ben 10 was ACTUALLY his future, BUT, in that timeline, he nevar went to the future and met himself, so he became arrogant and stop using his human form, but, when Gwen from the future brought both Ben and Gwen to fix that Ben 10.000 they changed his future, and now THIS Ben 10.000 is his actual future… for now 🙃

I do like the detail that seeing your future will change your future. In the original series, Ben sees his future and now there's a new Ben 10,000. And because he's seen his future again, it will change again.
No the original series when he went to the future that changed it and it became the future we see in Ken 10 (and the one in Ken 10) probably didn’t break the ominitrix originally

Race Against Time is Canon but inside the Ben 10 Multiverse as an Alternative Universe like the Gwen 10 one and etc, etc, etc...., you will discover alot when you keep watching Ben 10, it's Multiverse is actually confirmed Infinite by the creators though.

Yes the Return of Ben 10k I’m glad we get different versions of him he’s such an amazing concept. Love his personality and even tho I like the transformations more his power as Ultimate Ben is cool. They also did way better with Eons design and character tho I don’t completely love that Eon is just an evil alternate Ben his origin in the OG movie was a little more interesting.. This Ben 10k is from the timeline where Ben has the Ultimatrix while the first one was from one where he didn’t destroy the Omnitrix to beat Vilgax

In the first film, Eon’s minions were said to be warriors he enslaved throughout time, but not alternate Bens like here.

I think I like it more too but its because of nostalgia. I grew up with Race Against Time. It used to be my favorite movie ever. I now recognize its flaws but I still like watching it.
I definitely prefer RAT over AS

This episode does A LOT, hints for the future some loose end questions answered. Love seeing Paradox again
Each time Ben meets a Future variant of himself his future changes. The Ben 10,000 we see is mainly referred to as Ultimate Ben - he can utilize the all the powers of the Ultimatrix but doesn't have to physically transform into his aliens & can use limited magic. Unlike Alien Swarm, Race Against Time is retconned into an Alternate Universe. Eon is regarded as an Alternate Ben Tennyson.
That is just a head-canon that is contradicted by the show, there’s multiple examples of Ben meeting his future-self and nothing changes. The reality of it is that Ben future changes whenever the writers want to change it.
How is it only head-canon? The 1st Ben 10,000 had the same Omnitrix Ben had at 10 but he never sacrificed it to stop Vilgax. Ultimate Ben uses the Ultimatrix not the Omnitrix, despite it looking like the Recalibrated Omnitrix. Plus show regularly contradicts & retcons itself due to whoever writing at the time
@@anthonyramos9232 it’s head-canon because it isn’t supported by any official source and the show itself actively contradicts it by showing Ben interact with his future-self on multiple occasions with no changes occurring. This whole idea came from the fans, not the show nor the writers. So yes, this is entirely head-canon.

Just noticed that ultimate ben doesn't even have the ultimatrix but the recalibrated one. So he's probably from the timeline where Ben didn't need to destroy it to beat vilgax in alien forces
And im kinda glad 'cause i don't personally like this Ben 10k, having the powers but not transforming is boring and doesn't even make sence with all the aliens who doesn't have elemental or basic type like powers (just imagine him using goop lmao)
No, that is the Ultimatrix, it just looks different either because they redesigned it in universe or they made a new one.
This Ben 10k is the same Ben that blew up the Omnitrix at the end of Alien Force. His history with our Ben is the same up until the point of this episode.

The Ben 10 movie with eon wasnt different universe, well not technically. As a writer said, its ''Deleted timeline''.
The previous Ben 10000 was the original one until he gave young Ben the cake box for Max and changed the timeline

Changing the past changes the future, OS Ben 10k was always an alternate timeline according to Paradox and Dwayne Mcduffie, and in the episodes Merry Christimas, Paradox, Time Heals, Secret of Dos Santos, etc; when the past was altered, the present was also altered, but this did not create an alternative timeline, after all, new versions of those who traveled through time in this altered history were not created.
Alternative timelines arise naturally, and not because of time travel, like No Watch Ben Timeline and Gwen 10 Timeline, which were not created due to time travel, but rather emerged naturally.
You forgot to talk about Paradox's warning at the end, you need to remember what he said
Finally, I have been waiting for this since you watched race against time, I know you didn't like it and I don't blame you but IMO, this makes that movie all worth it, like you said, it doesn't make the movie good but it makes the movie worth watching

Albedo getting trapped as Alien X actually happened in the DS version of the game Vilgax Attacks. So all games not canon to the prime universe is a canon alternate timeline.

To clear up a bit of confusion, the Ben 10’000 from the original series was for all intents and purposes Ben’s future-self, that stuff about him being an alternate version was a retcon to “justify” Ultimate Alien’s take on a future Ben. And the be frank they shouldn’t have bothered, in practically every way UA’s Ben 10’000 is a complete downgrade from the original, the whole using powers without transforming might sound “interesting” on paper but in practice results in a much more boring character and undermines the entire premise of the franchise.
In all honesty they should’ve just stuck with the original, at least that way the title of this episode wouldn’t have been a complete lie.
Also I should probably mention this as it has been brought up in this comment section a lot but there is this popular fan-theory that whenever Ben meets his future-self his future his future changes, now this is a fun theory however it isn’t supported by any official source and is actually contradicted by the series, which wouldn’t normally be an issue but in this case there are many fans that treat this fan-theory as if it was canon and spread it around as if it was. In short if anyone brings up this theory remember it’s not canon.
Finally a good not random episode since ben 10000 and eon both are future versions of ben so its make sense to mix between them and also explain why albedo never turn to alien x before since to hard for him to convicse selena and beliceus
He can become any alien he's ever been so that means Chainsaw Grey Matter , XLR8 , Upgrade , Stinkfly , Ghostfreak , Wildvine , Spitter , Buzzshock , Arctiguana , Benwolf , Benmummy , Benviktor , Ditto and Eye Guy are back in the Ultimatrix and get ready to see new aliens in the future. What Paradox was saying to you beware Old George Beware The Creature From Beyond because it's Villain arc time.
That episode is fantastic. I much prefer this version of Ben 10,000 than the grump we got in the classic series

Ok, to explain a few things:
1. The episode confirms that every time Ben meets his future self, his future changes (more or less). I don't like the character of "Ultimate Ben" personally. I think he's boring, and that his powers are lame, but that's just me.
2. This also confirms that Race Against Time was indeed in alternate universe, and now Eon has joined the prime timeline. It technically retcons Race Against Time. In that movie, Eon wasn't literally an alternate Ben, his DNA had just sort of been transferred into Ben. Here, he straight up is an alternate evil of Ben Tennyson. They probably did that to make things simpler.
3. Our first look at Clockwork. Can't say more about him, just remember him for the future. And Paradox's final line in the episode too. That's really gonna be important.

Great reaction man, just to clear something up, while it is possible for Ben’s future to change as he time travels, it doesn’t necessarily work like everyone else is saying. It’s not like the avengers thing.

@@ben10theorist Going to the past and changing stuff creates an entirely separate timeline. It more so works like Young Justice or DC, no new timeline is created but rather the traveler becomes an outsider to time.

The Ben 10,000 was actually Ben's true future at some point but after Ben saw how much of a jerk he became when he was an adult, him vowing never to become like him led to that future becoming an alternate timeline. Now after meeting this Ben 10,000, he is also no longer Ben's true future as Ben 10,000 gave him aliens he was not supposed to have at that point just to annoy Azmuth.

Everytime ben meets with his future self his future changes , (unless paradox does some shit like how it happened with 10 year old ben in the forge of creation episode) so thats why his future self isnt the same with the classic and its happened and changed now again cuz he now knows how he will be in the future .
It has never been said anywhere that Ben's future changes when he meets himself in the future, in fact, this canonically makes no sense, since Ultimate Ben remembers everything that happened in the past and in (read the Omniverse Spoiler at the end). Furthermore, Paradox and Azmuth state that Ben has a great future at the beginning of UA, which indicates that they know what will happen in the future and that the future will not change. Personally, I like to think that Ultimate Ben is the future of Ben Prime, and that Ben 10k from OV is the future of Ultimate Ben.
"Let's Do the Time War Again" , Ben literally knows himself from minutes in the past and the future doesn't change.

Achually there in the same timeline and the ken 10 episode take place 12 years after Ben 10,000 sent his younger self back to the past and the reason why they both act different cos Ben 10,000 was humble by his past self and decided to change
Bro I love this episode so much. So many memories, I legit remember the exact day I watched this.
Back then this was my favorite episode in the whole franchise. I loved the references to Race Against Time but hated that they made it another universe, because that movie was my favorite movie when it first came out. (I was just 7, I didn't realize how bad the movie was lol) I didn't know about the Alien Swarm episode back then. Idk maybe they didn't air it here or I just missed it.
The day I watched this was the same day I found out Darth Vader was Anakin. I had my 2 best friends at our home, we watched this so intensely. Then somehow Star Wars came up and they talked about who Vader was. (unrelated but I just remember it)
I remember Eon being my favorite villain ever in any franchise (Just above Vilgax). So it was crazy seeing him AND Ben 10,000 back.
I also loved the reference to Gwen 10. I remember hating them never bringing it up again during the original series.
Also this is one of the last 10-15 episodes I've watched before leaving the frachise back in 2012. So one of the last and best episodes that I remember.

Even though this is not the same Ben 10.000 as the one from Classic due to alternate timeline shenanigans, this was still mindblowing back when it aired for the first time. Specially with Eon thrown into the mix!

So original Ben 10 000 is the first Ben 10 ever and then Gwen changed the timeline bcuz the original Ben was a jerk Ben 10 saw that and change making the first Ben 10000 we saw a timeline of his own now (cuz in this episode he said no I’m not him but I remember the past of meeting him ) so this episode Ben 10000 is a timeline of his own cuz now Ben has killed E on which mean it won’t show on this ben future and I won’t spoil a thing but I hope it makes sense now

Yet another retcon, though Eon's one is not as controversial as the ones in Alien Force for Gwen and Kevin (probably because RAT the most popular part of the franchise). I probably would care more due to it removing the interesting lore about Eon and turning him into a Ben counterpart, but that lore resides in a piece of media I don’t ever want to watch as an adult, nor do I care about Eon in this show.
What I do like is the expansion on the Multiverse (which is what it is as of this show), indicating that all the what if episodes and side games/comics are canon somewhere within the Ben 10 universe. The direct example is them referencing Vilgax Attacks on the DS of all things, meaning they’re likely all canon (including the timeline where Ben's aliens become independent for racing).
It'sa fun thought.
