@@rukiakira5757 Eunie, Chapter 4, Chapter 5, then various character pairings trended on cycles, week after week, for multiple months after the game's release. Seemed like new people got into and played the game in waves.
Every time I watch someone playing XC3 for the first time, I loom silently in the back seeing, waiting for this one moment. When they lose all hope, when this chapter destroys their very soul.
I always like watching streamers reactions to Shaina. Most folks just hate her but there are a bunch of us who really love her. I really enjoyed her as a foil because she made me pause and think about her view point. She spends her whole life being taught to rebel against the cycle of the world watching people of the city give everything to put a dent in the cycle. Constantly seeing soldiers who will ultimately be cycled back and given another go around largely ignorant of their mistakes and failures and everything that can make a normal life difficult. She is wanting to choose ignorance and the comfort that failure just means another chance to do better. She ultimately isn't considering how the next version of herself in the cycle might feel about the fear of being tied to the flame clock but she is just seeking escape from her current circumstances and is looking a the big picture. It's honestly a very believeable mindset to adopt if you put yourself in the shoes of somebody in her postion in that world. I love how tragic Xenoblade's character writing can be.
100% agree. I actually would have preferred it as instead of coming to gloat and remind the party of Mio’s impending death, that she had come to explain how excited she was to be free of the life she had been burdened with (or something similar). Rather than make her more hatable, make her more sympathetic
@@jam13roll66 She's just so excited to show off that she has taken control of her life for once, by ironically signing up for control to be taken from her. The scene with the baby is probably my favorite in the whole base game. It's so heartwarming, yet so sad at the same time because all of this was taken away from the soldiers of Aionios.
I remember I finished the battle with M/N around 11pm when I was first playing the game, so once we were in prison, I put the game to sleep The next day around 5am I was on the bus on my way to work and booted it up, thinking I’d have regular gameplay… Instead, I’m just… trying to not ugly cry in transit to work 😂 Stopped it, closed the game and went home in the afternoon to re-live the moment on the TV, then I actually was able to cry 😂
Chapter 5 is so damn incredible. In this one chapter they go from the unbelievably sweet high of seeing the city and its maternity ward, to Homecoming. Yeah its hard in the City but there's so much warmth and genuine love in seeing these child soldiers learn what real human life is. I think Chapter 5's ending would not have hit as hard if not for the heightening beforehand.

1:21:48 not sure if you will see this but just want to point out that all the lives of Mio that M had never involved off-seers. This and the fact that the regular moebius theme plays for N means the Music was foreshadowing you were fighting Mio and not M the whole time.
Did she like, ever realize that it is the mechonis sword? For someone who played and well understood both games very recently, she didn't notice a lot of the most blatant references.
12:00 "The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend" - Just my Opinion on the Subject , but that convenient writing bit is overused in all of media. How about instead "The Enemy of my Enemy just means there are more Enemies to deal with".
I have so much mixed feeling about this chapter. In the heat of the moment this chapter is amazing. On 2nd playthrough with more context. Almost every action around the end of the chapter is completely nonsensical.
@ludwigkoopa3343 it's not N it's that's the problem it's M(mio) . The story makes it out like M had this super big brain plan but everything just worked out coincidentally when re watching.. N had the on the fly decision to make then suffer for another month. What exactly was m's plan if N decided to kill then right there? Or what about when sena and Lanz were about to unalive them selves. Was she just gunna watch them kill themselves? X saving the day was once again another happy accident. I also have issue with how taion solved M's power because it's not really explained what he's doing and why M can't just manipulate it to still trick them. Looking back at the chapter with future knowledge makes the scenes come off as terribly contrived.
@@xavierlynch1088 There's a degree of this for sure, I was also really bothered by Taion just "figuring out" M's power. M knowing what N was going to do makes sense to me, since she's very aware of N's behavior. You could also make the assumption that M could have stopped Lanz and Sena's attempt with her ability, and play it off for N (he wouldn't argue with her about it much). X sealing their power allowed them to not be handcuffed the whole time, which definitely exists purely for the viewer to watch them struggle and intensify the emotional damage. M's comments in the prison also strike me as... off in hindsight. Even if you assume that she's playing the part, she seems too... Mio-like and not very M. If you assume that her moments with Noah she's talking about HER Noah (the Noah that she had a child with), it's hard to justify some of the word choices. It feels like there's an issue in translating from the more vague phrasing that Japanese allows but it's trying harder to preserve the first time experience rather than the second time experience interpretation since trying to preserve both would just be awkward at best. Ultimately the whole ending still hits home for me, but I'm not going to pretend there aren't flaws with its execution.
@@xavierlynch1088 I dont think its that unlikely to figure out M's power. I mean, they tried every possible solution. Trying to attack M while she is using her power, attacking each other since they couldnt successfully land a hit on her, Sena tried to close her eyes, maybe it wouldnt work then and so on. None of the Moebius unique abilitys were perfectly and flawless, there had to be some drawback, otherwise M would be the most broken Moebius of all time. Also remember that Mio had all of M's knowledge once they swapped. She was aware of X's powers and knew that Z wouldnt let someone kill N. And it was obvious that Z was keeping an eye on them anyway. I am also pretty sure that N didnt just made that decision on the fly. Remember how Z said that "The eclipse draws near" when him, N, X and Y were watching them, while the camera was focused on Mio's mark. I think it was their plan all along to get them out of the cycle forever, as its clear that somehow both Noah and Mio were able to overcome the system of the world. In the end, the reason for many of the events were simply due to destiny. For example the fact that the eclipse was also on the same day as Mio's last term.
@ludwigkoopa3343 the problem is that it's all " I think" and "maybe that" it's all reliant on the player to make up an answer in this regard. Iv watched the scene several.time and N looks like he definitely only had just gotten the idea. "I just thought of some.delectable entertainment" and I dint think it's hard to figure out WHAT M is doing my problem is I don't know how taion figured out HOW to counter it or what he was doing to counter it.
