Ah Robert...I will always be eternally thankful for that first night I saw you live The Odeon in Cleveland,Ohio.Upon handing the doorman my ticket I began to hear you start singing "Box of Rain" .....that alone was beautiful in itself and then the rest of the show was just wonderful.Thank you Robert....I remain forever GRATEFUL🙂🎸🎵☮️🎶⚡💀
i had this on green-blue vinyl....the vinyl had a tiny edge strip i peeled off and saved for many years in a drawer, moved by the fact it was made of the same stuff as this music.
Thank you for putting this on line. It should be shared wide as i think it would be felt by many. Had an original copy on cassette. Gave it to a radio dj friend. Now i have it on disk. So glad it is out there. Such a cathartic piece.
I had the cassette too back when it came out. It was in heavy rotation for many years. Always a special thing to sit on the couch in the sweet spot between the speakers and ride along on the Marie Helena.
Hello fellow Hunter Heads! Have you listened to Rock Columbia lately? Im trying to get people to revive and cover these complete bangers...Billy Strings?
Happy Days Between 🤘🏼 That'd be Awesome! Love to hear BMFS cover any Hunter That Train Don't Come Here Anymore would be great or Dry Dusty Road or Red Car....✌🏽☮️💜🦋
I was fortunate enough to find/purchase this album around the time it was released.. First time I played it, I started laughing in disbelief.. "What the hell is THIS?!?".. Second time I played it, I wasnt laughing.. But I had SO MANY ALBULMS, at the time [over two(2) thousand], it got filed away.. I sold my collection, lock stock & barrel, a couple years later.. This is my first time hearing this in prolly thirty-five(35) years.. Really wonderful.. An amalgam of some imagined electified bluegrass hybid of both Jerry AND Bobby songs, talk-sung in a combo Bob Dylan/Gordon Lightfoot/Kris Kristofferson mix > funneled through the mind • life • & voice of Hunter.. Or maybe I'm WAY off.. WHO CARES?..
I built a spaceship powerplant, which can basically run for free, for a period of time, but only when there are souls to harvest. Once the soul is transmuted into pure energy, and fractally dissasembled, the ship resumes normal operation, and continues to run on its own fuel source. This is great for storing large quantities of energy.
Yes. I saw him perform this at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco with ex-Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten providing piano accompaniment.
Good stuff but I need the written lyrics to absorb what is said. Listening to it a few times, I get the feeling that imagery of RH flows too fast to be really comprehended by just listening. Before you comprehended one verse, the next one is halfway through. Reading the lyrics as RH sings is probably the better way to understand the flow of thoughts and the intricate imagery. I will look up the lyrics.
With modern technology, the amount of resources and manufacturing hours required to build a wooden sloop, are the same as a next generation space ship.
I finally remembered to look in the LP, and unfortunately the musicians aren't listed. He did take the time to include a multi page illustrated lyric booklet, but didn't include any production info.

Damn good rip! Robert is so damn good. I got to see him and Ramblin' Jack Eliot in Lompico when I lived there at the Zayante Club.

I love this man's mind
we are losing rock's great minds much faster than we're gaining them.
You are in good company. 🌹
thank you for the upload.I had this on tape in the mid '90.
man. Hunter really loved the Bible and Dylan Thomas haha. and a little Willy Butler Yeats sprinkled in for good measure.
Recompense. Now there's a word not used anymore

Who is performing the music?
It's Robert Hunter. This is an extremely rare track.
@@americanfather3090 Who is performing the musical parts? The keyboard work is 4/4 offering. Love this album.

I guess it's whoever you want it to be.
Good question. Use Occams Razor. Look at his other LP's and rest assured, they are the usual suspects. Peace.
