Holly shit dude... that was sooo musical. Pocket and groove for days! It's all about that spacing! Not who can be fast as hell. This dude gets it and that is why he is landing constant gigs obviously. Evans and Vic Firth are the best, no comparison.

There are lots of incredibly skilled, technical drummers about on UA-cam, but very few stand out as being equally incredibly musical, Bruno Valverde is one of them. I'd never heard or seen him before seeing this clip, I'll definitely be looking out for him now!
yeah.. So just listen to "Angra - newborn me".. check his drums, especially the part in the middle, together with the acoustic guitar.. He plays a brazillian rythm called Maracatu. Awesome mix with the progressive metal that Angra plays. Cheers.

I adore the sound and tuning on the bass drum. Sounded like controlled mortar fire. He kept his placement right where it should have been and never loses the audience. Great job!

I'd have to agree with what all the people are saying. Very controlled, yet gives such a technical, smooth, groovy delivery. I could really vibe to his playing, unlike other drummers who just do chops after chops after chops. Bruno Valverde, I'll remember that name (y)
Incredibly impressive, but I can't help but feel bewildered at some parts. There are moments where his groove just gels so perfectly with the music that it's absolutely beautiful, and then moments where he just goes off into some weird bit that's... It's beyond syncopated... It just feels off, I can't figure what he's trying to do with it, and just when I'm about to scream AAAAAH WTF! it seamlessly goes back into that immaculate groove.
Quite enjoyed it, though, he has some awesome technique.

+vahnn0 When you're improvising you will take some bad decisions along the way but you're also gonna come up with really great stuff that would never be captured if u didn't try everything that comes to ur mind during the improvisation. I think that's what happened there.
It is usual improvising. The expression takes diferent ways, some of those so close to the unique, perfect subjectivity of the musician. It isn´t bad, rather it is a beautiful lapsus. Regards
