Legend of Legaia #42 - Conkram's Past

- Time to go into the past, but first, you may notice the graphics looking a pinch different. That's because I had to switch to a specific emulator, ePSXe v1.7.0, in order to make the transition to the past without the game crashing for whatever reason.
In any case, past Conkram isn't what amounts to a vision of hell...at least, not yet, As it turns out, there's a new weapon to fight back against Sol being created.
One of the people spearheading the project should be familiar, Cort. He's been mentioned by a couple of the mist generator guardians so far. How he messes everytthing up for Conkram remains to be seen, but for now, you can go explore the town.
First stop is the inn so I can save my game and switch back to my primary emulator. After that, resting at the inn will advance the story so you'll want to explore around town. There's four waters (Power, Guardian, Swift, and Wisdom) plus a Magic Fruit to pick up (and you can bet Noa is getting ANYTHING that boosts her power right now).
As for shops, all the stuff on sale is available in Buma, but also good to note is that this is the final shop in the game, meaning we're fast approaching the final moments of this adventure. Best to buy anything you need now before resting.
When the Mist is revealed for the first time, you can probably guess what happens. Machine gets a little too much Mist in it and the poor subject turns mad, breaks out of his cage, and all hell breaks loose.
The goal's pretty simple...we need to hoof it to the basement once again and shut off the machine. Random battles start up again, but it's the same stuff as in present time Conkram.
Once you reach the basement area where Noa's dad was in the present, there's no machine, but rather a hole with rainbow smoke coming out of it. Terra reveals it's a portal to Rogue's Tower on the frontier of the Seru-kai, home of the Seru. Only way to save past Conkram is to dive into the tower and take out the head Rogue. Seems simple enough.
Next time, the heroes dive into the tower.
funny how the Delilas family all just hide and bar their door, the first time mist happen in Conkram past.
Beautiful music, wonderful stretch of game. Playing through thos gets you really pumped up for the Ultimate Fortress. If only they didn't utterly botch the last act.

My game crashed too with 2.05. Going to try 1.70 to see if that works, hope it does.
Conkram has no chance in the war, Gaza in his prime would kick their butts.
