Love that cut and fold technique used for the forge weld! With all these nautical themes you sure a distant relative isn’t Edward Teach? A few years growth and some det cord tangled into your beard you could easily pass off as one!

Thanks for that, and a design technique I hadn't ever considered. So, your next challenge, should you choose to accept it, is a lance head. The type of lance used by the Australian Light Horse and the Bengal Lancers. It's three sided with deep fullers running to a tip. They're light with "pointability" but extremely robust. Thanks again for the harpoon, now how about one as a bottle opener. Well done.

When you fold that tip back, arent you creating a shear plane when you weld it, or does it not matter because you are forming the new tip at a welding heat, or did I miss something?

I'd like to make a smaller version for carp and gar.
Nice job. I don't know if I would need one in Utah. All the fish are too tiny to harpoon. Better build one just in case.
