    Here's the easy way to make your blade last 6 months: After each use, take a hair dryer and dry the blades. The blades will dry in about 10 seconds.

    It's really does clean all what's left behind after shaving. I spray a bit on my razor blades after shaving and I leave it for 24 hours with my window open so the razor can dry
    I was so surprised when I looked at my razor the next day, the blades are shining like brand new.
    Another great cleaning tip is use baby wipes to clean your blades after each shave to.

    This also, and mainly, works for DE blades:
    1.- You dry WELL your blade.
    2.- Either you oint them with vegetal or mineral oil, or you let them swim, all covered, into a little petri box with cover filled with oil, 99% alcohol, propilenglicol or any other hygroscopic liquid. This way you will prevent the rust and moisture.

    A shower cleaner is always some kind of acidic solution for descaling surfaces. But it would also act to passivate the stainless steel, removing free iron and rust from the surface, leaving behind stable chrome, as well as descaling it. Any scale would tend to trap water and salts against the blade and encourage rust, so it's all to the good.

    • @Larry

    I have fine facial hair that grows slowly and is not thick. I shave my cheeks and neck every other day. For the past 20+ years I have been using the same method of cleaning my Gillette razor (used to be 4 blades, now they have 5) and although a single razor cartridge has normally lasted me 6-9 months, I have decided that at the end of this month I am going to start changing them out every 2 or 3 months. So what do I use? I use isopropyl alcohol from Walmart. The clear plasitc bottles used to have a small hole and a bottle would last me over a year, but now they have a larger hole. I still am re-using the lid from before as they fit, but for those with the newer bottles, open the flip top and use a stick needle to poke a hole in the paper verses unscrewing the lid and removing the paper, that way you can get a smaller stream of alocohol coming out, when pouring it over your razor blade. I got the idea of using alcohol when going to a barber shop and noticing all of their combs, scissors, thinning scissors and other cuttind devices were placed in a clear glass cylinder filled with alcohol. I asked the beautician about it and was told she using the alcohol because it disinfect everything and if it is a cutting tool, it will help it reamin sharper longer.

    TBH It isn't even THAT complicated...
    1. Put razor under cold water. Put warm water on the face.
    Rub a little coconut oil on the face, followed by a lather of basic handsoap (most commercial shaving foams age the skin).
    2. Between every few strokes of the razor, simply rinse the razor under running cold water, brushing off any accumulated soap/whiskers with an old toothbrush. That keeps blades sharp.
    Repeat until you're clean shaven. That's it.
    3. Rinse face with warm water and then with cold.
    Apply a little coconut oil.
    4. Rinse razor under the running water, removing any soap/whiskers with an old toothbrush. Shake off water and leave to air dry.
    The razor will last a million times longer and you don't need to buy shaving foam and you'll barely need to replace your blades ever.
    5. useful fact: It's all just a massive scam. The human face cannot blunt steel... ; - )

      The oil will make every bit of hair stick on the blades! Rinsing won't get hairs out of those tiny bits of plastic where you can't get no matter what! I've thrown razors because of oil,it got stuck on to the blades and under them and I even hit the razor gently on to something hard to get the hairs out but it was never clean. If you have an older leather belt. I seen it where you can rub it on the best simular to the jeans.
      It makes total sense. I remember seeming the barber to that when I was a kid. He would run the blade through a leather strap.
      I think I am going to try that

    Toss bits of old hand soap in a cup of murky water and leave your blades in there, rinse them off then 're use them, job done.

      Leaving them in water causes them to rust the best way to leave no rust is too clean it off after u done shaving and dry it with a hairdryer works well i also hown my razor on my arms with light gental strokes in opposite directioN

    just use a double edge/saftey razor. new blades are 10 cence, you get a better shave with less irritation and you dont have to mess on with shower cleaner

    pretty sure blades are stainless. they don't rust. it's just dried particulate matter.

    • @Angelocity100
      @Angelocity100 7 років тому

      Derek Logan No they're not stainless steel, they do stain, that is to keep the cost down for them.

    • @Angelocity100
      @Angelocity100 7 років тому +2

      Derek Logan Then how can you explain that the blades can indeed rust, I have a Gillette Sensor3 disposable left in the bathroom where all the steam from hot water gets into my blade and it rusted, since that I keep my razor out of the bathroom where there's no moisture

    • @thechum9653
      @thechum9653 6 років тому +3

      stainless can still rust,there are better types of stainless that are harder to start rusting but all stainless will rust overtime.it is just less likley too in normal conditions,but being kept in bathroom with steam and water they will overtime.i just use baby oil on blades.then you wint have that chemical crap on em this guy using and itll prevent water and rust

      Fuck all this messing around. I just use the fusion razor , rinse an throw in box on window sill. My blade has lasted near 3 years, shaving every other day. Last one lasted 2.5 years cos the wire connecting the blades bust but just use the thing till it starts to pull instead of cut!

    u can use it that long because its gilette, they are insanely good and long lasting, if used after showering only for the softer facial hair effect. I used that way, gilette disposable blue 3 blades for 6 months easily, and it stays good enough.
