Love that you are building shelters for the cats that need some care & protection. I'm going to try your suggestion with a couple of tweaks ... I plan on taping the insulation to the back of the door & add a second door, on an end (never across from each other) for escape, so they aren't trapped. As well as omitting the blanket & putting a lil extra straw. The straw keeps animals warmer than any material can. Thanks for the great idea and keep up the good work! :)
That’s an awesome cat house I watched your videos to make this now I’m going try to make one thank you and thanks for caring about our prescious kitties 🥰😻❤️
I would love to get involved in something like this in my community. I just ended up with a mama and 5 kittens over the summer that are somewhat feral. I have worked hard with them to get them to trust me. 3 kittens can pick up pet and love on but mama only pet and other 2 one will sometimes let me pet the other not even close. We have had them all fixed and and shots. So we are now their new parents. And I love every minute in having them. I had always had dogs never cats, I see now all the fun missed about them. They will be outside so your idea is a great one. Liked how you thought about that door neat idea.
Do all of your cat houses have only one way in and one way out? I've heard that two entryways are best so they have a way to escape if need be. What are your thoughts on that?? I've also heard blankets aren't a great idea because they get wet, however, did hear you say to only use a blanket if on intends to check & clean it fairly often.
Hi thanks so much for the idea. I have 2 feral kittens aprox 4 months old living in the woods by my house. Im in michigan so it gets brutally cold. I dont know where mama cat when but i think this is a very good idea. Could i add foam board behind the aluminum insulation? Also do you have a list or link for the tote you used? Again ty so much.
This is part 4 of their series on how to make the shelter. They were very thorough throughout the 4 videos. You just need to watch them all to get all of the details.
Fabrics hold moisture and can pull the heat from the cats and actually cause them to freeze. Only straw is recommended and needed.
Love the kindness you have for the wild ones. Thank you for that.
Yes yes. Angels

Add an exit, in case a predator tries to go after the cat.
Don't put string. They'll play with it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How do you change the straw since the top is fixed closed?
Cut those zip ties they said and just replace them. The zip ties are like a 1.25 at any dollar tree or you can get a bug pack of them for cheap.
You didn't explain how to cut the door
