Once, I taught a high school history class (as a sub; I'm usually a language arts teacher), and I totally blanked on the term "founding fathers," so I ended up calling them "daddies for liberty" in front of thirty twelfth graders. Never gonna live that one down.
I absolutely love American History. I couldn’t have cared less about it in school. But as I get older and through the entertaining experiences of HAMILTON and DARK HISTORY, I have grown hungry for the real truth about our American history!!
What's crazy, and a bit unsettling, to me, is that some of the founding fathers were in their 30s during the whole revolution. Like... I'm in my 30s and the thought of someone my age, or the age of some of my peers, overthrowing a government and establishing a new government is really a scary feat. 30 really isn't that old, establishing a whole new country, at that age, is A LOT.....
I mean a LOT of history makes more sense when you know it was made by a bunch of teenagers to 20's to early 30 something men. Let's dress up & throw all the tea in the harbor just sounds like a HS senior prank.
America holds the president, 1 individual, as a hero or failure…kind of like the old myth of the king… We know that the leader is just the figure head. There’s a whole team around them AND that whole team stands on the shoulders of giants! The common philosophy of the day was reflected in the founding of America…except the whole “No person of this nation shall ever be owned by another” which wasn’t financially ‘practical’ at the time!
Back then I think 30 was more like 50. I mean people might not have lived very long back then, teens were taking over estates, and fighting wars. I think people grew up faster and we're more mature back then. Today's society is so cushy that adults get to act like children longer.

On the other hand, he was an inspired farmer and started all kinds of sustainable farming practices.
Thomas's wife Martha getting sick each time she got pregnant might be the fact that we didn't know about RH factors in blood. If a woman with a negative type (A-, B- O-) and the father has positive RH factor in their blood, it mingles with the blood of the baby and the Moms body sees it as danger and the body will try to fight it....I probably didn't explain it like a medical professional but I had to have a shot after the end of any pregnancy (full term, miscarriage, etc). Bestie they're not poking the camel with a straw😂 its because camels carry luggage and building materials and this preverbial last straw is added to the load the camel is already carrying, thus breaking its back from the weight. Thank you for another great episode! You're a queen❤
I had a high school American history teacher who jumped on a table to imitate the famous picture of Washington crossing the Delaware, which got everyone's attention. He then informed us that that picture was a lie; and, due to weather conditions, Washington was more likely to be cowering at the bottom of the boat. Plus, it was very unlikely that he ever stood up in a boat like that. 😊
I dont know that sounds like a 2D representation of George Washington. Taking in other accounts, not his own, he obviously was a courageous thoughtful leader, having much more depth than cowering at the back of the boat. LOL! funny but whatever.
This was an illustration of how my teacher would grab the students' attention using sound , motion, humor, and a little slice of history. It was not the entire lesson.
@@jasonmontoya4749 yeah he was a soldier. I don't buy the cowering representation of him. Soldiers on all sides were very brave back then. They charged cannon fire

Loved this episode Bailey!! Need a pt 2 for sure!
This is gonna be fantastic 🎉❤❤ love you girl❤
Learning something new each time....thank you for unpacking, .... Yes gold star, foodie here too! Much love Bailey!
Bestie they're not poking the camel with a straw😂 its because camels carry luggage and building materials and this preverbial last straw is added to the load the camel is already carrying, thus breaking its back from the weight.
Thank you for another great episode! You're a queen❤
We love you and what you do girl iv always loved history but history with you makes it so so much better ❤ thank you for all you do
This is the only class I've gotten perfect attendance in 😂
Thank you Bailey I really appreciate your history time. I find it fascinating.
Bailey you should do a show of how dads and men made women sign a marriage contract, because we were classified as piece of property
You should check out her dark history of marriage episode. It has this and more, super insightful!
@@zanettarose oh ok I couldn’t remember if she did a marriage one or not.
You go gurl I never thought I'd see an episode like this from an American ❤️
I am glad you talked about Benjamin Franklin's "air baths"! My favorite fun fact about him!
Well I’m sure they weren’t any different then the weirdos in office now or all along.
AMEN😂😅
Thanks!your amazing I listened to every one of your videos literally like no lie
If she sold pajamas with the dark history logo on it, I would totally buy
I remember that first comment 😂😂 Thanks for the hour upload by the way! Always enjoy the extra long ones!
