Ours was so laggy, we only had 1 guy using a beam so it took forever. We just started calling him “the guardian in the stories” or “GO GOKU, USE THE SPIRIT BOMB”
It took a while to find an LFG where people weren't dropping like flies at the initial drop in at the rally flag. They also had the audacity to leave immediately leading to short, failed runs. Finally found a group that comm'd through chat, coordinated on experience from previous attempts. We moved together, focus fired on champions one by one, and hoarded up revive tokens for witness damage phase. Outbreak Perfected with rewind rounds was the goat on this one.
Suggestion: For those who haven't completed this yet have your group bring a few divinities. I completed it on my second try and highly recommend any groups that do this to bring at least 2 divinities, one for each side of the second area. Divinity helped a lot with killing the champions before they started to lag/desync and regen all of their hp which was happening to us a ton on my first run. I was with my raid group, so 6 of us were in call and it definitely helped being able to callout who I was hitting with divinity and everyone would focus the div bubble. The witness attacks are a lot simpler than in the actual raid and on third dps phase you have infinite time to get to final stand so stay alive versus playing for damage at that point.

I have gotten typically 1 golf ball per master nf clear and the longest time a clear took was right around 20 mins. Fastest one I've done this week was 12 mins so would recommend if you want ascendant shards don't waste your time in excision. Just run master NFs using fireteam finder and it shouldn't be that bad as long as you are competant.
I would like them to take the feedback and let it give us exotic class items for completing it since it takes as long if not more than a run of Dual Destiny to get.

But I also think that rewarding just ascendant shards and an Ergo Sum for an activity is lame because when GM nightfalls release that's an infinitely easier way of getting shards and we already have 2 sources of Ergo Sum which are miles easier. The only reason you'll do GM Excision is for the catalyst and pinnacle but after that there's no point. Putting the exotic class items as a reward wouldn't hurt anybody and would be much more desirable to those who get anxiety or are uncomfortable with one other person whereas with multiple others they feel better in a group.
Took a team of randoms and myself without mics about 1.5 hours. It is cool to do once but honestly otherwise don’t waste your time. After three add fazes and boss damage fazes you have an infinite amount of time to damage him to final stand.
The catalyst is good, its just a playstyle that isn't built for super high level content. I think its okay if they make weapons that aren't for raid optimal DPS or for GMs. Sometimes they just make fun weapons
Its funny to see all the people complain over everything that bungie does. Alright, next time you'll get a nuke that you can use unlimited that just completes the whole raid when you are using it solo. Have fun... Oh yeah, also unlimited free class items for everyone, cause yall got a massive skill issue.

@@krysixx-5535 yes, when you beat the witness inside the raid he will give you a key, if you take that key and go beat excision, it will turn into a red border raid weapon, it doesn’t even need to be the Gm version, any version of excision will work and you get a new key every week from the witness. In fact, the game actually puts a flag next to the witness chest in the raid so the fireteam leader can take your fireteam straight to excision to spend the key.
Wait, 2 golfballs is kind of a lot. Is that a one time reward or farmable? If the mission can be done in like 15-20 minutes, getting a two golfballs in that time is a good farm for players low on resources.
Most runs seem to be more like 30-40 minutes and you CAN fail, while needing to organize 12 people. You can get golfballs faster just farming Master Nightfalls or GMs once they come out.
It should have had a chance to drop the new ecotic class items.

I played mercy too and it was honestly kind of fun- Its a unique play style for this game and I'm kind of here for it.
It's definitely NOT worth it.

It works with the swords perks that want you to use it while transcendent for the extra damage
