Always been interested in the so-called Bronze Age Collapse and the mystery surrounding it. Dr. Cline wrote the book that, while not solving the mystery, certainly shone a light on it. 1177 is one of the best books written about ancient history I've read. And I've read many.
@@TheMakersRage I'm actually confused where to start 😅 I just recently found out about Dr. Cline's 1177, and it was really a great lecture but Im so confused with who are the Myceneaens, Hittites, Canaanited, Phoenecians (i believe they are called as Carthagenians now?). Where do you think I should begin?

I'd just like to say the modern scholar audiobook of A history of Ancient Israel by Dr Eric Cline is absolutely phenomenal. It's one of the few books I regularly listen to, the lectures are totally mind engaging.
I just can't help but go back to Eric Cline's book "1177 B.C. The Year Civilization Collapsed". It draws too many parallels to what's going on right now.
Another excellent interview and with the brilliant Eric Cline. One small request, an you ask your contributors to put their laptops on some books or platform so we get an eye line view not look up their nostrils and the ceiling. Thanks, keep up the excellent work.
Thank you Nick. Great work your doing. Should our civilisation not collapse you will have been a contributer to that success. We need to learn the lessons of history Sadly many seem to have the memory of fish. Europe has had peace for 75 years. The EC has all sorts of problems. Hi, I am a product of Washington DC, and was born here, a professional bicycle mechanic and messenger. I am 45 years old. My Father has a degree from GW, I would love to work on Archaeological digs in the area, and have worked in the past at local parks like Riverbend park on the Potomac. Is there any way to get involved in real work to preserve and record our local history?
I can't get over looking at the old photos how they wore suits with collar and tie!!!! Dr Cline. I challenge you to wear a three piece suit on the next dig!!!! NOT!!!
Armageddon hasn't happened yet. The ignorance exposed in the title of this video makes me wonder if it was the primary investigator's idea and if so, how does he expect us to give his opinions any weight? If not, then does he leave the responsibility of stating his opinions and supporting evidence to others? Displaying ignorance for the sake of sensationalism is no excuse. I want to see site reports and appropriate documentation - not a "dog and pony show".
Well, you obviously don't understand what the title is referring too and you also apparently, have not watched this video or read his work which would explain your ignorance. That being said for future reference I suggest actually reading or watching what you critique before critiquing it ;) would clear things up for you. That being said I hope you enjoy the episode as he dives into the archaeology and excavations at Megiddo, a historic site that has been the Armageddon of so many civilizations, armies and peoples throughout history.
Megiddo is where the final battle is suppose to happen in the book of Revelation. To make things clear the end of the world already happened almost thirteen thousand years ago and is what a lot of mythology is about. Revelation takes some of this ancient knowledge and turns it around to be prognostication for future events from past events of the fire from the sky and deluge, such as the fiery mountain cast into the sea and the number seven being the Pleiades in which the Taurid Stream seems to emanate from, the cause of The Younger Dryas Impact Theory. I liked the video and the title was spot on. I bet ole Breasted was beyond himself wondering how much was missed in the till ! Follow the avatar if you really want to know the truth.
@@studyofantiquityandthemidd4449 I quite well aware of what you're saying, but I'm sick and tired of the stupid "click bait" that sensationalists title supposedly professional reports. I've been an archaeologist for almost 60 years and have watched too many mediocre fellows grab the "spotlight" by trying to be entertainers instead of archaeologists. Meanwhile, young archaeologists that E. Mott Davis and Donny Hamilton would be proud to work with end up unable to continue in their profession. What the primary investigator is saying here is neither new nor controversial.
@@Rommel296 - Ar Meggido is Armaggedon, symbolic or real but that's the meaning it has in the Bible ultimately. After all Christianism is nothing but a Jewish sect, one that almost certainly arose as reaction to the defeat of the Jews in the Great Jewish Revolt, culminating in Meggido, where only one person survived (by cheating): Josephus, whose testimony is most revealing (unlike Revelation, which is very confusing).
