Love him, thank you for this. He is so honest which is something few actors do, tells it like it really is. I loved his performance in Withnail, he makes the film, he is so ethereal and mesmerizing. Agree what he is says, you either have that something that can transcend or you don't. To make in that industry, especially after the comment from his drama teacher saying he'd never make it (jealousy I expect), is impressive and inspiring. Thanks Richard and SAG
My God I miss seeing Richard and talking to him. Have had the pleasure of meeting him countless times over the years and he has proved himself a lovely kind gentleman with genuine interest in others.
Thank you Richard for your dedication to the art and your perseverance. It is so encouraging to see the personal, professional and cosmic gratitude you display in these recent interviews. You may be the ultimate example of the working actor and, as you note, you shot to fame playing an unemployed and unemployable actor. Without the tenacity you displayed in your younger years by committing yourself to a career in acting, "Withnail and I" would not have become the masterpiece you helped create. We are eternally grateful so don't f__k it up now! ;)
Class act! I had stumbled on Wa Wa after following Nicholas Hoult after About a Boy. Mr. Grant is an impressive actor; moreover, he has lived a fascinating life! To see someone just totally enjoying all the award madness makes me feel good. I so wish he would win the Oscar! It would just be amazing to see him win.

Enjoyable interview, and the interviewer is excellent, she sure has done her homework and doesn't interrupt when Richard is in full flow. Thank you both!
In my first PGCE class yesterday at college, we did the exercise 2 truths and a lie. One of the truths of one student was that Richard E Grant had rode past her in London and asked if she needed help changing her tyre ? Just always comes across as decent guy.
I recommend "Posh Nosh", a series of 8 minute spoof food show videos Mr. Grant did with Arabella Weir long ago. Very funny. Some amazing other actors did fun cameo roles, like David Tenant as a horny Italian tennis instructor.
What I really notice in his interview is how exactly he can remember dates and writes... I wonder if he has an eidetic memory? Would certainly come in handy for learning lines! Although potentially a disadvantage in personal life?
She went to Sussex University in the UK so I suppose that accounts for her transatlantic accent. She may even be English and her years spent in the U.S. has modified her accent.
Delighted that he is getting some recognition after so many great performances! And what a fun guy to talk to!
Treat yourself and listen to how an interview should be conducted. Great anecdotes told by a warm, engaging and thoughtful, Mr.Grant.

Withnail & I is one of the greatest movies ever & Richard E Grant's performance is one of the greatest in film history
Very true, Richard Griffiths was equally impressive in that astonishing film.
True
I am enjoying these interviews.. What a kind-hearted man he is.

Brilliant lead-in from interviewer Mara Webster - Marvo thanks Xx
Surely Mr. Grant means 1986 not 1976 when he says, he got his first agent and a week later he was put forward for "Withnail and I".
Yes the film is 1987.
What a charming man.
This man is the bomb.com!!!
Great interview. I had no idea Richard was so interesting and funny.
He's brilliant! 😘
This is wonderful!
Love REG!
