Lol, you don't check for casualties like that in reports, idle troops give points as well. Also, you send your troops to a mine that has a path that intersects the base you want to attack, so you can attack instantly and the enemy won't have time to react.
Being in a corner may not save you. We’ve done several VS where the opposing alliance had dedicated search teams scrolling the map looking for our bases. They were posting base sightings of our big guns in world chat. It gets worse during warzone duel, everyone on the enemy server was posting sightings. I got attacked by a big gun from one of the server’s leading alliances 10 seconds after I started attacking a lone base from a tiny alliance. Little old L22 me got chased from warzone to warzone by several different L27s.

No cheap points attacking in the boondocks, many but not all areas report invaders to the top server alliances, who will send L27s and up to smash whoever they find, and invader hunting teams periodically scan the entire map for foreign bases.
