Great video. One thing you might build into your camera prep workflow is black balancing (ABB in the settings). You might already be doing this throughout the shoot, so high-five if you do! For those that aren’t familiar, Canon recommends you auto black-balance at the start of each filming day, and each time you change frame rates (or if temperature fluctuates drastically). Thanks for the great vid! And don’t worry, you are not alone in your meticulous prep and thoughtful packing 😉

I filmed a section on ABB but cut it at the last minute because I was afraid the video was getting too long-winded! Lol I should have left it in! :) Thanks for letting me I’m not alone in that obsession! Haha I’ll let me wife now there are others!
One tip for the sensor cleaning, try to blow it out either facing down so the dust falls out, or at least tilted. Facing up can just move the dust around instead.

Nice, thanks for the list...I'm truly a one man crew so I just needed to add lights. Been doing it for a while don't usually need a list but I'm getting older and the occasional slippage/brain farts started happening more frequently 😒😒

I just watched your latest video about the Leica lens and thought, “Edmund is on to something with these vintage lenses, I need to explore those more in depth.” There is an Rf to Fd .71x adapter calling my name… That said, I do rely on af quite a bit (more than maybe I should?) but the C70 has never disappointed. I’ll get a video up soon to showcase that. Thanks for the input!
With cleaning lenses, isn’t the sorta law of it to not unnecessarily touch the glass for any reason (ofc the rocket blower and brush won’t damage it but using a micro fibre etc every shoot mightn’t be the best?) idk I’m new to this stuff haha
Great thought, thanks for asking! I’m sure you’ll find valid arguments for and against the topic, so it’ll ultimately come down to your discretion and how dirty the lens is! I’ve never been too shy about cleaning my lenses and haven’t personally run into any issues, so that’s my insight! If you’d rather, perhaps at the stage in the checklist simply inspect your lenses to make sure they are good to👍 Thanks again for commenting!
you need ONE big peli case... with custom made foam for alle the things you use.. then its easy to not forget anything... if a spot is empty, it because you forgot to pack somthing. :)
It’s funny you say that! I just pulled out my Pelican the other day and thought “Man this thing is nice, I should consider using it again.” I do love Pelican cases! I switched to the bag for two reasons: 1.) I’ve been on flights with my Pelican Air carry-on neatly packed with my expensive lenses and camera only to find out the plane I was on was too small for the case. They wanted to check that case and put it in with the cargo… yikes! After much convincing it rode in the cockpit with the pilots😂 2.) The ability to sling the bag on my back frees up my hands which I often use to carry the tripod or roll my Pelican case with lighting equipment (depending) on the job. So that’s why I’ve gone the route I have! But I’m always experimenting with new/better ideas, thank you so much for sharing your insight! :)
@@TroyMairs hehe damn.. okay after that experience i would go with a backpack too :D I was looking into getting a backpack harnes for the pelicases, but it looks cluncy hehe.. but man... pelicases (for the most time) just makes everything easier and makes you relax because you just know the gear is safe from wind, weather and fire :P but thats easy for me to say, i dont fly with my gear. Great videos btw.. especially the one with the Mars monitor.
There is a REAL peace of mind that comes with having gear in those hard cases! (That’s what had me thinking about it again the other day!) It all comes down to how you shoot and what will be the most effective/efficient way to pull off the job! It’s probably different for everyone! Fortunately we have a lot of great solutions to pick from, it’s just a matter of making the decision 😂
I did sell my gimbal a few months back! For a few reasons, the biggest one probably was that I never wanted to take the time to set it up on sets. Which meant I also didn't want to haul it with me either! Lol I found that with a rigged C70 paired with Stabilized lenses, offered enough support to get acceptable handheld footage straight from the camera. There are times a gimbal is absolutely necessary, and when those times come up I would look to rent one, rather than own.

Do an AF test with your 15-35 RF. After the last firmware update, I may be convinced to use an AF lens. Right now I am only using vintage lenses.

Hi! In one video you said that you are selling Ronin... Are you not usinf gimbal at all? Can you please share why?
