- The Seiko SSB405P1 Urban sports chronograph, is this the perfect sports watch for Urban skaters?
Seiko have made a couple of changes with the addition of a link removal tool & a solid bracelet, but there is still room for improvement, we still get hollow end links so what are your thoughts?
as always let me know what you think in the comments.

That is a cool Seiko. I didn't know they made this a true hidden gem
I'm surprised there aren't more videos on this one it's been around for about a year.
Thanks for watching man.👍
@@somewhereintimewatchreviewsexactly hidden gem
Those Zulu straps really make those watches pop. I agree though, I always try to get on the bracelet since it will spend most of its life on it. Nice to see a different looking offering from Seiko. Definitely a little something different. Nice job as always mate.
I agree the nylon straps did look great, my issue though was mainly the they're the same price as the bracelet version, not necessarily Seiko's fault just laziness on the part of the AD's
Thanks for the support as always mate.👍
Hi
I’m with you bro, this watch definitely deserves at least a milled clasp if not both (solid end links). Great looking watch from a great bloke and a great review 👍👍
Thanks my brother. Yep milled clasp, solid end links.....job done! 👍👍
I need a pokey thing!!😁 I like it. Seiko has a lot of these hidden gems out there. Very nice.
Haha to be honest, the pokey thing was a real surprise to see Seiko add it to the package.🤣
This one has been around for about a year from what I can find out, but there doesn't seem to be many videos on it, one of their better chronographs imo.
Cheers mate.👍
just bought this for £128. great video, thank you for seconding my purchase haha, cheers!
Haha you're welcome! 😁 you got a great deal there.
Thanks for watching.
The link to where I purchased the watch is in the video description. Thanks for watching.
@@myth1823 creationwatches you’re welcome!
Cool. Hadn't seen these before. Love the white one you pointed out. Cheers!🍻
Thanks Bob, yeah that white one is cool, shame I couldn't get it on the bracelet that would've been my first choice.
Well, I own this same watch for a month or so. It is indeed absoultely stunning, especially in daylight with the sun illuminating the green dial! It has hollow end links, but overall it sits so well with the bracelets on the wrist. I tried it with NATO straps quite a while, but I've put back the original bracelet it came with. I have to say, it is cluttered, as it is not a dive watch, I miss the overall lume. As of late I've turned minimalist in my watch preference. It is 3+ seconds/month accurate, and indeed it pretty much catches the eye. When I read the time, which I frequently do, I always have to look at it a second time... 😅 Great presentation, thank you!
It does have a very busy dial, that's for sure! Like you, I wish the lume was better, I had actually expected better, as Seiko are known for good lume, but other than that, it is a very cool watch, and as Seiko have recently discontinued these I guess it could become quite sought after and collectable.
Thanks for watching.👍
Really interesting piece from Seiko, quite like the dial and of course the meca as well. Solid quality looking too. Nice find mate
Yeah overall not a bad looking watch, I'm surprised that I haven't seen many reviews of it though its been around for a while now.
Cheers mate.👍
Another great review 👏 👌 👍 definitely a good looking watch
Thanks Matt. Agreed, it does have the X factor in the aesthetics dept. 👍👍
Great thumbnail BTW Adrian! 👍❤
🙏😊
Nice little chrono. Enjoying the tune on the intro too!
Ah the new tune...yes there's a video as to how that came about 🤣
A bit of a rant! Maybe I'll upload it one day haha
Hi Adrian. Just catching up after getting my phone back. Great review. Love the retro styling in this one ;)
Hiya John, thank you. Yes, lots of modern things going on with that dial. All wrapped up in a vintage style case, for me, that's a winning combo.
Not bad for a mecha - quartz chronograph, not bad looking, im not sure about the shiny subdials though...
Interesting point, although I quite liked the silver edges on the subdials but I guess that's subjective.
Thanks for watching Steven.
Great details on the dial
Definitely a busy dial. 👍
Thank you. just purchased this for my new-to-be son in law . picked it up for $ 128. USD. looks like it will be a good starter watch . ~ JDS/CT
Definitely a great one to start a collection with.
Thanks for watching.
Where did you get if for $128

Not sure how I missed this! I love a good chronograph! I have an SSB model and it is by far my fav chronograph watch, this one is sharp as well, nice find!
Surprising about the lume, mine has lume on all the indices
Bracelet on this is slightly better than the one on mine but yeah solid end links at a min for that price I find the hollow ones to be a real pain to put back on at least on my model
I do like this one!
Yeah it's pretty cool & plenty of colour options too. But it's absolutely high time that Seiko stepped up with things like solid ends & milled clasps, especially at the full retail prices.
Cheers mate.
Quality review as always mate, 👌
Love the case shape, would be nice to see an up spec’d version with solid end links etc as you mentioned, maybe a sapphire option too?
Then it would definitely be worth the full retail price for sure 👍
Thanks mate, yeah I totally agree, although as I said, I can live with hardlex. I've never had a problem with it scratching, but definitely a milled clasp & solid ends.. Come on, Seiko, it's time now! 😁
I wonder if sieko put these bracelets on their domestic market watches or just export ones.?nice watch though .and you get one of the wiggles as well.a lot happening on the dial too .did it need a date window ?.
THANKS Adrian.
Good question! I thought that their domestic market usually better specs than the export models, but yeah a very busy dial & I don't really think it needed a date I would normally say that would've given a cleaner look but there's already a lot to take in if anything I would say that the date almost gets lost.
Cheers Mal.
just bought 1 love it. only dint get the tool with it. :p
To be fair, it's really unusual to get any little extras with a Seiko. I think I just got lucky.
Thanks for watching.
Great review.
Thank you. Appreciate you watching.
What a chronograph what does?
I got the white dial and I can’t complain. It’s too cheap 😂😂😂
Too cheap!!! 😂😂 I gotta say the white one does look the coolest. 👍
I recently bought this watch. Should I be concerned about scratches on the glass with normal daily use?
I'm sure it'll be fine with "normal" daily use
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews ah okay thanks. Is it also possible to replace the glass if it is damaged?
Yes the glass can be replaced. To be fair, you're gonna have to put it through some pretty rough treatment to get to the point where the glass needs replacing.
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews Okay, thank you! I'll handle it responsibly, so it probably won't be necessary.
Just a question...do all the subdials work ot it's decorative???
Yes they all work.
Is it made in Japan?
As with any Seiko watch. Some are made in Japan, and some are made in Korea.
The way to tell is on the serial number if it ends with "J1," it's made in Japan. If the serial number ends in "K1," it's made in Korea.
Thank you. Which one is superior? And which one do you prefer? I recently saw an Indian variant like the one you are reviewing. So I got confused.
And this one ends with P1. What about it?
@04cosmicfighter I'm not sure that the Indian one is genuine! Could be a refurbished one, but as far as I'm aware, Seiko only produces new watches in either Japan or Korea.
As for which is superior, Seiko have their own quality control system, and wherever they're made, they have to go through all the same checks, etc.
Collectors will always say that the Japan made watches are better, but I personally don't particularly have a preference unless I was going to be spending over $1000 on one. Then, I would want a Japan made one
@04cosmicfighter the "P1," usually denotes a stainless steel bracelet "P2," is for a rubber strap
