I've seen him perform this song live, it is nothing short of beauty and technical wizardry! It's going to take the music world a long time to ever catch up with Devin.
im completely satisfied with this live verson. with so many layers of backtrack and all. nice to have those background singers so he can cut out a bit and just jam. epic! cheerz. d
+Rhyme Keenan Huh? OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY SAYS "We all rip off Meshuggah!" DDx i dont know why i thought it said for some reason "my sugar" instead of "Meshuggah" lol
I had the same experience, twice. First I got into SYL way, way too late, then his solo stuff hit me. I knew that kid off Sex and Religion was a bit good, wondered what happened to him, hoped he'd done good since he was so painfully talented. Didn't even know he played guitar! Holy shit, what a pleasant surprise that was. Never used to play favourites, but there's nobody in music today more deserving of, say, the void Zappa left.
The Between the Buried and Me singer did some vocals for this song on the album, and I presume he couldn't make the concert so they made the puppet video thing instead and played it when his part come up.
Nice to see they will film the show in HD, put HD on UA-cam but them limit Devin's budget to only allow a DVD release. I can assume a special blu-ray edition in a few months time?
am I the only one noticing really short bits of planet smasher in the riff? I Think its the same 3-4 notes of the guitar and drum bass pattern at a few points
I love how the Tommy Giles puppet pretty much replicates all the movements he makes while singing live
The best way to substitute Tommy's weird and intense stage presence
This song must be insane to sing and play at the same time. Holy shit
DT is the epitome of everything that is awesome in this world.
One the coolest songs I ever heard in my entire life!
Oh my god, the Tommy puppet. That is the best thing ever.
I lost my shit when I saw that...
Haven't head Devin since he sang on Vai's album. This is awesome!!!
Devin Townsend doing djent. The best thing I've ever seen.
I've seen him perform this song live, it is nothing short of beauty and technical wizardry! It's going to take the music world a long time to ever catch up with Devin.
I really love the ending from 9:20... so epic!
Tim Heerema the INTENSITY that room must’ve felt from all of that bass!!!!!!! Would’ve been such a chilling moment to witness
My favorite part too!!!!
3:41 best part of the song!
im completely satisfied with this live verson. with so many layers of backtrack and all. nice to have those background singers so he can cut out a bit and just jam. epic! cheerz. d

Devin is one of a few that can put you to sleep or scare the crap out of you!! So talented !!
That drummer is a fuckin' beast
After hundreds of listens I've determined this song is an advertisement for Burger King. I say have it your way
You might be right. The title track of the album is about a cheeseburger.
too bad I'm a vegemetarian D:
@@lalakuma9 beyond meat burgers are a thing
"Stay Heavy For Your God" would be a great slogan too.
The acoustic guitar sounds so beautiful.
I am amazed with how f..ing well they play this song live
I sae DTP last month and i were blown away of all the awesomeness!

"Meshuggah. Meshuggah, Meshuggah, Meshuggah..."
Meshuggah + Muse
+Rhyme Keenan Huh? OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY SAYS "We all rip off Meshuggah!" DDx i dont know why i thought it said for some reason "my sugar" instead of "Meshuggah" lol
+unique Master just admit it, you just felt stupid after you realised he just meant the lyrics oO
He wants all the sugar in order to summon Saruman...
Meshuggah it's just rhythm without melody or harmonies ... this has more feeling, like death
Devin, how can I explain what I feel about your music... Not possible or yes... maybe like that... YOU'RE A GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best live performance I have ever seen...This is incredible.
this drummer stole the show. he is really impressive
Monster talent.
I had the same experience, twice. First I got into SYL way, way too late, then his solo stuff hit me. Devin looks like he could be a villain from a children's movie
Jay Lee
He can be Lex Luther.

this song is epic! this set would have been utterly amazing to witness
In many of the videos of this concert, there are no negative points. Devin, you´re great
Tommy Rogers' guest vox fit so perfectly.
I clicked on this to see how he would do the Tommy part for the DVD. was not disappointed
the sound cuts out at 9:21. FIXIT FIXIT FIXIT
What a beast of a song, man...
Has anyone figured out the pattern behind the intro riff?
The audio cuts out at 9:21 for me until the end of the video.
They are amazing.
Tommy´s performance was awesome in there!!
You got to realize that his songs have so many layers and harmonies that Frank Zappa is a big influence.
joweerocks yeah, he kinda came from that Zappa camp as well, being with Steve Vai and everything.
@@TheGuitarifier And now in 2019-2020, he's playing with Morgan Agren and Mike Keneally, who both played with Zappa. You guys nailed it.
God damn! That tone
honestly i came like 7 minutes in but i stuck with it coz i knew this would have an epic ending.
OH...MY...GOD, they sound even better live
11.54 Never forget bliss !.
Dear lord that was incredible..
Min 3:40, too epic!
Just awesome!
Devin... no words!
5:45 O_O
Just seen them at brixton academy, awesome gig.

Sarumaaaaaan!
This is amazing...
Valdemort gets a bad rap for his evil wizardry. If people knew he was such a brilliant musician...
Hahaha.
10 points to you.
Same to Saruman. Tommy just keeps calling him.
Devdemort
These are the kinds of songs that should be performed in ancient huge theatres with higher class in the box seats like in the olden days.
sooo.... EPIC !!!!!
Damn, the orchestra is well into this! Love it! :D
Mind blowing !
Can't breathe
amazing!
Amen
I would literally kill just to be able to see DTP in concert
As grand as he is in the metal community,Devin himself recognizes the truth about Meshuggah.
original! I appreciate! thank you
a legit musician!!!
That Tommy puppet tho...
masterpiece !
That choir is so awesome. I LOVE 7:06!
Nice to see they will film the show in HD, put HD on UA-cam but them limit Devin's budget to only allow a DVD release. I can assume a special blu-ray edition in a few months time?
at 9:22 we keep without audio! Why!?
Dirk!!!
Powerfull, groovy, dark, I like!
0 dislikes,¡¡¡that´s Devin Townsend!!!
wicked
genius!!!
Cutting the audio at that point is like stopping a hand job early. My fucking soul hurts now.
Anyone knows the tunning of the guitars in this song? Great song!
How can we purchase the DVD from the link? I don't see the box set...
Oh my God I died at Tommy's part
Hell ya I love disturbing the peace... ludacris is badass
Hevy Devy Ziltoid and the Apes 🦧

Out of curiosity, which ones do you think are hard to get your head around?
i think it already sold out... you can try checking Amazon (I bought it via amazon.co.uk)
am I the only one noticing really short bits of planet smasher in the riff? I Think its the same 3-4 notes of the guitar and drum bass pattern at a few points
