Interesting... just watched a verry popular pro on here who advises that your rod should be pointing at your feeder. In his words .."gone are the days when you put your rod at an angle when on the method" confused??
Me too. But then I saw that having the clutch too loose negates the self-hooking element of the method feeder. So, next time out I will be tightening the clutch quite a bit - still allowing the fish to take line but with increased resistance. (Assuming I catch any, that is!)
Sound advice regarding the front rod rest. So many times I have seen rods fly into the water. Another tip is never leave a it in a fishing state in the water unattended.

Great advice. I got back into fishing after 15 years off. Love all forms of feeder fishing, but struggling a bit. Going to try some of your methods.

Thanks Stephen mate!
some great tips there Jamie
Thanks Phil hope you're well mate!
In addition to using the right rod rest, if fishing at close range I will always use a bait runner reel so the fish is free to run with some line.

Thanks Bernie mate! (or is it Stuart ;))
I also like to seat the ring / eye just behind the rod rest also helps the rod stay where it should. Lol
Hi Jamie, is there a rule of thumb for presenting wafters and hook size ?
Top tips
