  • I had trouble finding information or videos in English on the 2017 Kymco K-Pipe. So i thought i would clear the air with my own two bits of opinion. Feel free to leave questions below unless you don't. Ride safe.

      Corey Hopkins leave your feet on the ground and the fronts coming up. I think it's because of the weight.

    I think you mention that you live in California? You don't have to run premium gas in this Kymco. In fact, you may be throwing your money away buying premium if it's a gas/ethinol mix. Most problems people have with scooters and motorcycles, especially if they are carburetors, comes when they let the bike sit for long periods of time with the ethynol gas. It goes bad fairly quickly and starts leaving deposits in your jets. The pilot jet plugs first because it has the smallest orifice. The symptoms are, the bike starts and when you try to add throttle it coughs and dies. Since you live in a warm state, hopefully you can ride that bike year round. The best gas for that thing is just regular, bur ethanol free regular. Ethanol free lasts way longer before it starts going bad. If you do have to store the bike there are additives you can buy. Fuel stabilizers. Also, run the bike, shut off the gas petcock and run it till the bike dies. That will empty the float bowl. Ride the bike often and you probably won't have any problems. Kymco is a very good company with good quality products with longer warranties than any of the Japanese big four.

      Jon Neet you are correct about gas quality being issue I learned his from the cars I've had in the past I generally run chevron 91 as it seems to give me the best performance and fuel economy compared to some of the other brands. Yes I am a SoCal resident so I ride the majority of the year. The longest I've let the bike sit is 3 months but I didn't seem to have any issues with the fuel though having a one gallon tank is definitely a plus in that arena. Yea so far I've been impressed by what kymco promised cheap reliable transportaion. Thanks for watching my video ride well.

    • @etanneriii
      @etanneriii  5 років тому +1

      I use valvoline synthetic 4 stroke oil only. Small engines like this one use an oil screen not a filter. I am currently rebuilding the engine as I gruffed up the shift forks on the thing. If you gonna be riding you gonna be fixing.

    Hi, I really like your review videos bc I just bought a red K Pipe as well. I bought a 2017 on a 20% discount and with a 3 yr warranty. After and during ride home from the scooter shop, I was so glad I did not try to start on a bigger, heavier bike. Do you know the mms of the handlebar end screws? I want to replace mine but they are sold by mm 13 ir 17 i think, so probably would be 13? You live in a really nice area. Visited there once.

    • @etanneriii
      @etanneriii  6 років тому

      Thank you for the compliment. As far as the size of the bar end screws, are are you referring to the length of the screws or the thread size? If your referring to the thread size as I suspect then I believe it is a 13mm thread size. Though you can always just take one off and measure the width with a ruler to be more sure. If you are referring to the Allen wrench size I am not sure as I just go by trial and error. I hope I have been helpful. Yes I love me southern California. I'm glad you like your motor bike please ride safe.

    Great video! But your k pipe is a semi automatic all this mean is that your able to stay idle in first gear without holding in the clutch, I’m not a fan of the feature because when I upgrade to a bigger bike like an Indian Scout... etc. you can’t idle the bike in first ( releasing the clutch fully) because you would stall out

    • @charliekiger
      @charliekiger 5 років тому

      You're not a fan because much more expensive bikes do it differently? You must hate wet clutches...

    • @didixjenskxidnsma2538
      @didixjenskxidnsma2538 5 років тому +1

      I am not a fan of the clutch system! I love the bike! This is the only motorcycle I know of that your able to idle in first gear ⚙️, it will be confusing for many riders who eventually upgrade to a bigger bike or even get their motorcycle license, all the gears in this motorcycle you have to kick up, instead of one down shift then up for the rest with neutral between gear one and 2

    • @etanneriii
      @etanneriii  5 років тому

      @@didixjenskxidnsma2538 I didn't realize that it could do clutchless upshifts for a whole year, but from what I hear it starting to become that way on a lot of bike in the same way cars are. Though I am currently rebuild be cause the shift forks are toast.

    Is the seat comfortable? Like if you were to go for an hour-long ride? And how does it fair in bad weather conditions?

    • @etanneriii
      @etanneriii  7 років тому +1

      Venise Berté the seat is ok but after about an hour it can get a tad uncomfortable, but my daily commute is only 15 to 20 mins. As far as bad weather riding i couldn't tell you since the weather here in the los angeles generally sunshine and palm trees though a tire upgrade would probably be a good idea. if it rains i ride the train or take an uber. ride safe.

    • @etanneriii
      @etanneriii  7 років тому +2

      MannyVic Gaming In the state of California you can't ride a motorcycle with a displacement of less than 149 cc on the freeway / highway also the motorcycle permit in ca prohibits freeway and night time operation.

      It's my understanding that CA freeways require 150cc's. Hate to split hairs but it's significant since a lot of motors are somewhere between 149 and 150cc's.

    • @etanneriii

      Don't buy into outside pressure pushing you to buy ever larger and larger bikes. I'm 64 and have ridden motorcycles since I was 8. I still have a blast riding smaller bikes. The biggest bike I owned was a 1000cc, but I can still have fun on my Kymco People 150 scooter. Every time you trade in a bike for a bigger one, it's a money loser. They usually scalp you on the trade in.
