Dear Midwest Aero Team, my Name is Mario, I am 49 years old and I am from Germany, near the city of Erfurt in the eastern part. I ‘m an aircraft engineer myself for Aibus long range aircraft for a big German airline. My grandpa Fritz was a Me-109 pilot, during the WW2 at the eastern front. Thank god he survived the war & came back in 1949 from his prisonership in the Sowjet Union and died in 1999. From him I got an original Junghans cockpit watch,, a stand by compass, 2 really intersting & super rare books & big book of self made photos from his time during the war. He always had his Agfa camera with him, in his uniform pocket. Additionally many letters with aircraft stuff. I think the books and the photos might be really intersting for people who are deep into that topic. Actually, it‘s one of my biggest dreams to see the Me-109 flying, with its original DB engine, in memory of my beloved grandpa. The work you did with this plane is unbelivable, I have no words for that. It would be nice to get in contact with you guys, if you are interested, it would be amazing for me. Warm greetings from Germany Mario
Hallo Mario, auch hier in Deutschland fliegen einige 109 mit DB Motor, eine E in Bonn Hangelar und zwei G auf Usedom Hangar 10. Die Messerschmitt Stiftung hat ebenfalls zwei 109 G.

Imagine how nerve wracking it would be to be the pilot that flew that thing for the first time after spending over a decade fully restoring it.
