Jesus died on the cross so that we can be forgiven for our sins, so that we can repent and enjoy a relationship with God now and later. The rapture could happen soon.🙏
Simon Z changing from running away to bowing in surrender reminds me of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane changing his prayers from 'Let this cup pass from me' to 'Not my will, but Thy will be done'. Beautiful
Jesus died on the cross so that we can be forgiven for our sins, so that we can repent and enjoy a relationship with God now and later. The rapture could happen soon.🙏
The best scene in this episode imo. When he bowed and surrendered his life to God, he put it all in His hands. I identify with this scene because when I was a teenager in high school, I was accosted by two bullies in the lockeroom. I had started seeking God and studying the Gospel of John on my lunch breaks. I had grown very close to Christ. These girls wanted to attack me. I felt I had no way out. It's like the Holy Spirit came over me and I just became quiet. God took over. One of the girls got real quiet then said "leave her alone" and then they walked away. Folks, God is real. He has showed up in my life supernaturally many other times. When you truly get born again and the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within your spirit, that's when you get revelation knowledge about God's word. It takes the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to give you understanding of scripture. Ephesians 1:17.

I think the reason why Simon feels comfortable talking to little James is because he is quiet and keeps to himself, where the rest are more assertive and more out spoken.
Nathaniel hasn’t become aware that saying whatever is on his mind could at times be careless or even dangerous, not just offensive. He’s not learned discretion yet. Little James is kind, discrete, and able to handle very hard conversations and confidences.

Z has been participating in the expansion of the kingdom already by following and then going on the two by two. He’s seen the impact of Jesse’s healing spreading to Veronica and her faith. He’s not a Zealot but still zealous. He chose to trust God with his life in this episode. Amazing! Not many of us recognize moments and have the courage to stand up for Jesus in faith when you’re about to die for that belief. Unlike John who is just beginning to realize the possible cost of following Jesus, Z lays down his life in tent city only to have God intervene. I love these videos Brandon! You do such a great job!

After talking to little James, Z seperates himself from the group and goes to the tent city to face the Zealots head on, but without a weapon. Its like he is giving himself up. Maybe if they kill him or at least follow him out of town they will now be led away from his Rabi and the others.
Ah, that's right! Little James said something like 'we don't solve problems with weapons anymore' or something like that. Maybe it reminded Zee again that he is not what he was.
I think Simon Z opened up to Little James, is because LJ is not a wise-guy like Nathaniel. Remember Ep 2, where Nathaniel and Z were walking through the tent city? Nathaniel was a bit sarcastic and in Z's face about how to handle the tent city problem.
Z is making a bucket to replace the one that was ruined by the sewage in the tainted cistern. Because buckets were made from leather, they could not be cleansed adequately for reuse after being exposed to such substances.
Interesting that the Zealot sees a Roman, but does not see what that Roman is doing. This Roman is peacefully helping the Jews directly against his orders, but all the Zealot sees is his enemy. Even saying this is no kingdom I have ever been promised all the whole the scriptures paint a picture of a day when Isreal will be at peace with those they once saw as their enemies.
Yet, they "hired" the son of the former owner to teach Zebedee - only makes sense if they're already the new owners, doesn't it? But as Judas isn't in this scene - as was mentioned by someone just now - it's pretty likely these timelines overlap. Can't show everything at once, anywah
@Jorine Bustraan not if it was just the plan to hire him. They didn't give him money right then. It was a negotiation that he would get a % of the profit if he stayed on. Those type of negotiations happen all the time before sales. I did several of them just last year for a property I didn't end up buying.
He says he doesn't trust Nathaniel with the information. As Jesus says, Nathaniel is the truth teller and Z doesn't want Jesus to know. I don't think it's that Z doesn't trust Nathaniel overall.
It seems to me that the episodes show different things happening at different places at the same time, don't you think? It would make sense to me, at some point time is sped up and at others, they let us have a sneak peak at everything at once - but they need to show it one scene after another, so that we'll get the common theme of that storyline. I find it beautifully and creatively made...
In Season 2 Episode 5 Jesus says, "Let's go for a walk, Simon, son of Zebulon." So that's perhaps where the "Z" nickname comes from and why it sticks throughout the series.
I'm hoping since Simon is officially done with zealots and maybe the season finale, Simon P will be changed to Peter, Z can officially go back to Simon
I think Z went to tent city to bring the zealots out in the open. He is staying at Simons place so no reason for him to be there. He is in diguise. It seems he wanted an end to the hide and seek.Confront the zealots and may it be God's will what happens next.
I think it is easy for Z to open up his heart to L. James! People are more open when they see brokenness in us. It is easier to open up ourselves before humble people.
I remember when the episode with John the Baptist was with Jesus and they casted out that demon. Jesus met Simon the zealot for the first time. Jesus took that dagger and threw it in the river
The change isn't Simon the Zealot it wasn't him that they thought needed change it was the situation it was Jesus it was the healings it was the words of Jesus that challenge them. If they were talking about a change it would mean that Simon no longer wanted to be a violent zealot
Any musician who wants to know one of the samples in the assassination attempt scene, the repeated low bass synthetic note, it's from 'Signal' called Col Legno Bass. Just discovered it and found a youtube to mention it at. I really love that episode and Simon's response to seeing Jessie healed. So incredibly well done.
When Simon Z said “I’m not sure I can trust you with information” to Nathaniel it’s because Nathaniel has no filter and although he is correct, he immediately says what’s on his mind whereas little James is more humble and slow to speak.
Pilate needed to continue a connection with Rometo inform the emperor of the news of the province. This is his relation with the other character in the scene.
Belief in Abba & Heaven still preceded belief in Messiah in Jewish culture (although Abba made it clear in Genesis that He planned for redemption after Adam's fall), but each disciple / follower of Jesus had different ideas or different levels of understanding or contemplation of Jesus.
I agree with you about the olive grove thing. It was definitely out of order, including the previous show when he brings them the oil to taste. Both women act all surprised about it, but in the previous episodes, Jesus has already said that the women were working with Zebedee in that business. It’s the first time in all three years that I think the production team has a continuity timeline issue.
@@priscillajimenez27 Must be a Snipe follower - it's becoming second nature to try guessing. :D Barabbas was a murderer though and I can see them justifying that (we've already seen that), but they think they are (or trying to be) the good guys so I can't see them stealing.
I watched this later so forgive me if you already spoke to this. But the reason Simon Z can't trust telling Nathanael is because he is too blunt in his opinions and what he speaks, Little James however is more thoughtful and slower to speak, so when he does say something, vit isn't off the cuff. Simon Z recognized this by this time.

Did you also notice that as Jesus was citing the "children in the market" analogy telling about "this generation's" responses to John the Baptizer and Him, that when He gets to the part where He calls out that they accuse Him of being a "glutton, drunkard... friend of tax collectors and sinners" He was also looking the group of Zealots' way, too?

i was amazed by Z's development in this episode, the cinematics has consumed me. ive watched this youtube video many times already.
Nathanial says whatever is on his mind. No filter.
Remember, Jesus said Nathaniel is a "True Israelite." This is not a bad thing. It means that Nathaniel recognizes "truth." It's an innate gift. 👍

Jesus told little James that He trusts him. I think that spilled over to the deciples! "TRUST"
This is awesome; and makes The Chosen much richer. Thank you very much.
Great video.
If you recall, when Jesus first meets Simon Z, he calls him Simon, son of Zebulon. That is another reason he can still be called Simon Z.
Tho joining the group of zealots, Simon is still from a Hebrew family. Simon bar Zebulon shows his father was Zebulon.
@@karenremley9951 Which could be the real reason for calling him "Z"
Nathanael's penchant for saying whatever is on his mind would not make Simon Z feel safe.

great reaction and insight to this episode.
Hello Brandon 👋
The others tend to say what's on their minds more freely.
Pilate needed to continue a connection with Rometo inform the emperor of the news of the province. This is his relation with the other character in the scene.
I think Simon Z has a dagger hidden somewhere. This is a great transformation. Sicarius Simon is dead. He is a new creature.
The title of this episode is a take off on a Ted Nugent live album: "Intensity in 10 Cities".
Zealot (to Simon Z.): Who are you and what have you done with Simon Sicarius?
Belief in Abba & Heaven still preceded belief in Messiah in Jewish culture (although Abba made it clear in Genesis that He planned for redemption after Adam's fall), but each disciple / follower of Jesus had different ideas or different levels of understanding or contemplation of Jesus.

foreshadowing on th e zealot's part when he said he'll find his own way. im curious where he'll show up in later seasons.
