  • Koajiro no Mori is a forest of about 70ha facing Sagami Bay, which was left at the southern end of the Miura Peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture. Forests, wetlands, tidal flats, and even the sea are continuously left as the catchment area of the Ura River that flows along the valley in the center of the forest.
Approximately 2000 species , including rare species, including the chiromantes haematochea, which requires a connection between forests, rivers, and the sea, form a diverse ecosystem. From spring to summer, you can observe a wide variety of crab ecology centered on the tidal flats, and you can see countless crabs dancing courtship dances on the beach at low tide.
