When ur admiration for a person turns to respect and , introverts never get that much courage to speak to people they respect too much, not only a girl it can be a family member too, May be ur dad or mom anyone so he/she would just listen wouldn't talk back. May be u want to but u can't, I'm one so I literally relate to this personality at different levels, as you are not in that position of the character you wouldn't understand even if u stand in that person's shoes coz ur thinking works different and that person's thinking works different. Hence the saying " to each his own". If u have been in that situation of an introvert u would connect, if u saw his gestures he always walks behind her never in front of her, he doesn't go too near to her even though she moves close to him. Thats the respect he has for her. This is visible in different parts of the movie thats how u understand the character. This Movie is so beautiful, they aren't taking advantage of their meet they just wanna talk on what they had to say to each other all these years. They aren't betraying anyone. Hope u get it right. Respect is the first and foremost thing in a relationship if thats missing love cannot bind them. This movie just shows his respect and what true love is, its not about getting the person as yours, but whom u take as yours u would make sure they are safe, they get what they deserve and stay happy, but most of the generation today says I love him/ her get married and then that love or passion is gone bcz u just got what u wanted in such a day and age this movie comes as fresh and shows what and how true love should be. There is a huge difference between West and Indians on way they express love with parents, kids, between family members ..etc.
Growing up, I don't remember my parents saying "I love you ...etc etc " even a single time because they don't need to and i know they love me and I know they will do anything for me ( It is more of actions than words for us ). Similarly it feels awkward if i call my mom say I love you mom ... My mom will say what's wrong because she knows I love my parents and do anything for them.
So my point is, West they use MORE words for expressing and in the end i feel "i love you sweety has NO meaning as you keep saying it repeatedly without even meaning it". I live in USA and my kids knows that i love them and i don't keep on saying "i love you darlings like a robot"
