Hey is there a way to combine a 1.3 OLED display on this set up wiothout using the module to get the readings .
how can i combine a 1.3 SSD1306 oled display to this arduino setup?
SSD1306 will only display one color, that might be quite limiting in this case.
HOW does that infrared camera have an additional lens?
When I have tried times capture infrared thru any outside lenses (like a telescope on the moon, for example, or a building down the street) my IR camera sees only the SURFACE if the telescope lens closest !
So what did they do to make the lens bend the infrared light?
According to Wikipedia, the lens is often made from solid germanium- so you just need to get this type of lens. I’m sure it will be impossible to find though..
what is the range of this thermal camera? Im thinking about applying it to a drone for example, where can I find one with a good 300m or more range
I was taking picture outdoors (several hundred meters) and it was looking just fine. I´m not sure if there is any range limitation..
okay thank you @@upir_upir
did you try it?
Hi! Can I use a MLX90614 sensor instead the AMG8833
Yes, that should be possible, but make sure to use a corresponding libraries.
Could you use the 8x8 leds to see warmth from like 10 meters?
According to datasheet: "It can detect a human from a distance of up to 7 meters (23) feet.". So 10 meters is probably too much.
@@upir_upir Thanks! 7 meters would probably be more than enough!
Did you use the infiray camera with arduino or only with a phone? Because the video doesn't show it
The Infiray camera only works with Phone.
@@upir_upir too bad but thanks for the quick answer, I also found a guy on youtube that got it working with arduino called: catch22mania
Is there a big delay on the data received?
No, there is almost no noticeable delay.
Hi , can i use this for wider area application . ie at a place near garbage box to detect if a person throws garbage outside the bin or not . the area of the frame is 10 m * 10 m and secondly is the sensor 180 degree oriented ?
You can probably do that, but a standard infrared camera (not thermal) with some infrared lights will probably be 10x cheaper with a 10x bigger resolution.
@@upir_upir will the object/garbage be detected within 3-5 mtr from the infrared camera . If yes, can you tell me the model (product link is prefered ) and will i get a 180 degree view from the camera too ?
Can I use the AMG8833 module with lcd with arduino?
Sure.
@@upir_upir How? Can you tell me, thank you
can you do some tutorials on how to use touchscreen with arduino, and how to store images and data in SD card beacuse when i use PROGMEM too much with oled it errors with building fail with full storage.
Which touchscreen do you have in mind? I do plan a video with SD card, but a better solution might be simply using a different Arduino board. The new Uno R4 has 256kB of flash memory, that’s eight times more than Uno R3.
@@upir_upir LCD touchscreen, and also called TFT, I already have arduino uno r4 and I am using it but because I have a project filled with smoothness, i need to use an sd card but I don't know how to use it with arduino and oled display, and I want to move this project from untouchable screen to a touchscreen to use less buttons
and thanks.
"what the hell are you doing in there!"
"I'm just painting with heat... um, it's for a video...., wait no come and look at this..."
"oh for, every time you do this its another boring ohhhhhhhh my god thats cool..."
Well... that´s very close on how that actually was.. I don´t think anyone understood what I´m doing :)
is the P2 useful to see a person outside at night, let's say 100 or 200 m away?
Not this one, but the company makes other models that are suitable for this application. Try searching for "infiray Clip T Clip-on".
Painting with temperature. I wonder if anyone has done an actually good-looking painting using this method yet. Needs multiple heat distribution points at variable temperatures.
That’s interesting question. Painting with light is usually done with photography, since this approach would require for all the viewers to have infrared cameras 🙂
what is the lcd display name in this video ?. at 09:16. can u give me its name and link to buy ?
The link is in the description of the video. It’s the SunFounder 8x8 display.
@@upir_upir thank u so much
Awesome....cheers!
Thank you! Is there a video that you don’t like? 🙂
@@upir_upir Nope love 'em all !😁
That’s perfect, you are my number 1 fan 😀
Is it fine to use another pr thermal camera?
With Arduino? I´m not aware of any other module, but perhaps there are some..
@@upir_upirhow about the "Rype-C Interface 32*32 Resolution Infrared Thermal Imager"?
can i use thermal camera for arduino to create a device that can detect human then the electric fans will turn on?
Yes, you can. But if you want a simple and ready to use solution, try searching for the "human presence sensor". It will simplify things a lot.
@@upir_upir thank you so much sir
@@upir_upir another thing to ask sir, is there a sensor that can detect water in the floor? I am planning a robot that can detect water on the floor and it mops the wet area, sorry for the wrong grammer hehe. Thank you in advance for the reply sir
Can temperature data be sent to the web?
Sure, but it will probably make more sense to use any microcontroller with WIFI - the ESP32 might be a great choice.
@@upir_upir ok thanks
Great!
Thank you!
Thermal looks good with the hand in the advertising bag😅
Hand in advertising bag? I’m not quite sure I understand..
I'm on the run so don't have time to watch full vid now if the answer is in the video, my apologies. What's the distance range of sensors like this?
It’s not mentioned in the video. The common usage might be detecting a human, and in that case, max. Reasonable distance is 7m / 23 feet, as at point, a human would take one pixel. Other than that, I think there is no restriction.
@@upir_upir thanks
@@zooziz5724 you are welcome!
How to kill your sensor 101: plug it to 5V when it's clearly designed for 3.3V. The AMG8853 is the 5V version.
Thank you for the clarification, since it´s still working, I would suppose it´s (slightly) 5V tolerant.. at least for now :)
All the source files - including infrared video recordings, are on GitHub. Feel free to use it any way you want :) github.com/upiir/arduino_infrared_camera
Gday mate. Well done on the content.
Thank you, I’m glad you like it and good luck with your projects!
So cool! Water looks like AI-art. It's a dream. Unfortunately it is very expensive.
Thank you! I agree, it looks unreal. That said, I remember when a thermal camera with half the resolution was 10x more expensive, so it’s definitely getting cheaper with time..
want some candy?
Candy? Why candy?
@@upir_upir its a reference to the predator movie :)
Thank you for the clarification, it’s been a while since I’ve seen this movie..
Hello upir, I love your informative videos they are really unique. Big respect and appreciation ❤
That’s great to hear, Thank you for your nice words!
If you want to know why you get so many dislikes, it's because of the of the thumbnail
OK, thank you for letting me know.
It's just an Arduino guy 😂, relax they just made nothing complicate just copy and paste
A little clickbait this time 😅
Hopefully just a little bit :)
@@upir_upir yep love your videos so it's forgiven 🤭
That’s great to hear, thank you!
This video is an ad for InfiIR... Very misleading, I don't like it. Where is the part where you show us how to get a property image from the sensor? You mention that but then proceed with your ad.
Hopefully you will enjoy my other videos more.
you are vampire, use dark mode please
I´m actualy using dark mode for some applications, and light mode for others..
This is indeed misleading. Because this is not a "thermal camera". This is only "displaying temperature on a led matrix" and not camera. If you read the title and see the thumbnail picture, you expect that. But the video content is pretty bold! You get a dislike.
What is the difference between "thermal camera" and "displaying temperature on a led matrix"? Isn´t the LCD just a bunch of small pixels? Anyway, hope you find my other videos less misleading.
@@upir_upirWhat the different is? LCD is made of liquid crystal, color filters, polerazer so on.. if you don't know the difference between LCD and a LED I have no words. I don't blame anyone of not knowing something. But rely on clickbait to gain some clicks and likes is really bold. Create some honest content.
unsubed, thumbs down. My finger would be just as useful.
If you can measure 64 temperature values with just your finger, it´s understandable that the amg8833 sensor would most likely not be interesting to you. That said, thank you for your time being here and I hope to see you in the future.
Cool Stuff! Thx for that great Content
You are welcome! I’m glad you like it.
