Protein Bar - 1:01
Meatballs - 6:35
Pork Chili - 12:38
Recipe:
-----------------------
Step 1: Protein Bars
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs sausage
15 eggs
10 button mushrooms
20 cherry tomatoes
5 ounce container baby spinach
2 cups cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper
1) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
2) Heat a large sautee pan on high heat and brown the sausage. Add the mushrooms and sautee until browned, about 3 minutes. Add the spinach and cook for an additional minute, until slightly browned, then add sliced cherry tomatoes, stir, and take off the heat.
3) Whisk eggs, salt and pepper, and cheese together, then toss in your sausage and vegetables and whisk.
4) Line a deep baking dish with parchment paper, then pour egg mixture on top, and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, until cooked.
5) Remove from oven, allow to cool for 20 minutes, then turn over, cut into 5 portions, and wrap.
Equipment
* Sautee pan
* Silicone spatula
* Large mixing bowl
* Whisk
* Deep baking dish
* Parchment paper
* Cutting board
* Knife
Step 2: Buffalo Chicken Meatballs
Ingredients
* 3 lbs ground turkey
* ¾ cup breadcrumbs
* 1 tsp salt
* 6 ounces crumbled blue cheese
* ¼ cup buffalo sauce
* 1 bunch scallions
* 3 eggs
* 3 garlic cloves
* Amoroso hoagie roll
* Shrettuce
* Sliced tomato
* Pickles
* Ranch
1) Add ground turkey, blue cheese, salt, and breadcrumbs to a large bowl.
2) Add eggs, buffalo sauce, scallions, and garlic to a blender and blend. Add the wet ingredients to the meat and mix.
3) Use an ice cream scoop to scoop out the meatballs onto a parchment lined baking sheet, and bake at 550 degrees for 12 minutes.
4) Douse in buffalo sauce and toss.
5) Slice a hoagie roll in half, add ranch, lettuce, tomato, and meatballs, and eat.
Equipment
* Large mixing bowl
* Blender
* Ice cream scoop
* Baking sheet + silicone mat
Step 3: Pork
Ingredients
* 2 lbs pork shoulder
* 1 ½ tsp salt
* 1 cup water
* 32 ounces canned salsa roja
* 1 zucchini
* 1 tsp olive oil
1 can black beans, rinsed
1) Cut pork into 1 inch chunks. Season with salt, then add to a slow cooker with salsa verde and water. Cook on low for like 4 hours, or however long. Or, if you don’t have a slow cooker, throw it in a 300 degree oven, covered, for 3 hours, then uncovered for one hour.
2) Dice zucchini, heat a large sautee pan on high heat and add olive oil. When the olive oil starts smoking, add zucchini and sautee for 3 minutes. Add rice and black beans and sautee for an additional 5.
3) Add zucchini rice stuff to a bowl, top with chili verde and pickled veggies. Eat it.
Equipment
* Instant pot
* Sautee pan
* Cutting board
* Knife
* Silicone Spatula
When I first got my cat and he misbehaved so badly, I had to start hissing at him and it was the only thing that worked. So for 5 years, I've been hissing at my cat. Alone, in front of people. I don't regret it.
As a long time cat owner of many cats, hissing is more effective than any other tool. Spraying them just makes them dislike you. They learn to avoid sticky tapes and any physically annoying deterrents. Hissing they understand.
@@KaelynnzERbin agreed. I dislike anything else as well. Just upsetting for me and him.
LITERALLY MEEEE !
@@xx-des6628 it takes a special person to know what it is to be a cat owner
My cat doesn’t care if I hiss at him…. He doesn’t care about a lot of things. Except trying to kill all of our other pets 😭😭
Today on Mythical Kitchen Josh makes a frittata and calls it everything but a frittata. 😄
😂😂
Wait wait I would actually love more of these, I need meal prep help and I struggle with food stuff, but Josh makes me feel okay about the food I'm eating and really shows balance (ironically for his energy lmao)
I second this!
Hi mya, josh cortis has really good meal prep meals his channel is tmpm. Not that I wouldn’t mind see mythical kitchen doing this as well. It’s just something that helped me and wanted to share.
Crustless, milkless quiche, or as I like to call it, "Fritatta."
I was scrolling to see if anyone had said this.
Or like, omlete.
Finally someone says it.
I'm confused and had to do a quick goog to be sure I wasn't going crazy. Frittatas are exactly what he made. There's another comment that mentions doing them in a muffin pan and, like..., thats a normal way to make several single serving frittatas at once.
handheld fritatta
Please, dear god, let there be more of these. This is the exact type of food prep I need in my life.
I love this, people need more everyday food education. We don’t need to be spending a ton of time and effort in the kitchen to make something that is tasty and nutritious, more real life cooking please!
These are great protein forward meals, just add more zucchini and beans for fiber and more vegetables and it's pretty much perfect. Super easy to make regularly.
I love this kind of video! The whacky fun food is entertaining, but I like to see the crew make actual everyday food too - maybe have everyone host an episode of "how I eat at home"?
Yeah! I would love to see the rest of the MK crew host this and see what they eat every day.
I agree!
Love the breakfast prep. I make mine with half eggs and add extra egg whites. Controversial food opinion, when I'm lazy, I eat them cold out of the fridge
@@tipshaxx_for_you aye, I eat those microwavable protein quest pizzas completely cold. I just put it in the fridge and not the freezer
Everyone but Rhett. It's gonna be beans galore
This is the way. I'm hyped this kind of content is doing well!
The Mandalorian likes this post.
Crazy to see you here Brian! Love your channel as well =3
I wanna see Gordon Ramsey do what he does
This is the way.
Omg the inception has begun
I’ve been watching MK while I’m eating for about 3 years, because really helps take away the heavy mental stress that comes with an eating disorder. Watching Josh just always be himself makes eating by myself a lot less scary. Thanks for helping with my recovery!
SAAAAAAAAAAME. I seriously get excited every time a new Mythical Kitchen video goes up because I think, "Yay! It will be easier to eat today!"
Congrats on your road to recovery!
When the quarantine episodes started, I was really inspired by how chaotic Josh cooks.
For real, it made me way less of a perfectionist and I realised 'cooking is just throwing stuff together, you won't get poisoned most of the time' (especially if you don't prepare meat).
Ever since those videos, cooking has been my 'me-time'.
I love going to the store between like 4 en 5pm, dreaming of what I will make for me and my partner.
Mythical kitchen has been an inspiration to me ❤
Honestly I love watching Josh make food he does at home. Josh's slop bowl is 100% going to be used in my home from now on
Yes! I do shredded chicken or pork in a pressure cooker (used to use the oven but don't need to now, but totally possible as Josh said). Rice with beans and veggies. So good. Kind of like a burrito bowl almost, which people go order out for. I also love basmati rice because it is way less starchy so very easy to cook, and I love the taste. I've see a few videos from Indian cooks and they say you pretty much boil it like pasta and drain (I'm no expert though, just basing this off a few videos I've seen). I just put it in my rice cooker without washing and it comes out perfect.
Yuuup. Slop bowls of all sorts of variety are regularly on the menu at my house. Especially when it comes time to clean up a bunch of leftovers lol.
As someone with a real disordered view of eating and someone who struggles to cook more than eating out I wanna say how great this is for me! I want all these now!
I make the exact same breakfast prep except I put it in a muffin pan! It's a life saver to just pop them in the microwave and eat them before my 8 month old realizes I have food 😂
Question for you! How long do they keep in the fridge? Can they last a week?
Magic trick learn to eat and entire cupcake in 1 bite so they think it's cool and you get all food
@@brad.bryant I make something similar to this (we call it an egg "bake" and use maple sausage links cut up in a baking dish) and it's usually good in the fridge for about 4 days
@@jshiner9143 Calling something a "bake" is worse than calling leftovers "meal prep".
@@jshiner9143 cool thanks.. I may plan like 4 days at a time then
I absolutly want more "meal prep" type vidoes. I will fully support a Healthy but Lazy cooking series, 10/10 great content Mythical Kitchen!
The way Josh says “aygs” is everything. I think we’re seeing peak Josh, folks.
nah it’s nails on a chalk board
11:29 the note about microwaving leftover bread wrapped in a damp paper towel is the most underrated tip in this video and I just need everyone to take a second and try it, just go do it, like right now
All of them recipes look so good 😋 why isn’t anyone talking about that there was one bright orange egg out of all of them eggs 😂😂
it annoyed me way more than a normal person when it wouldn't get whisked properly and just kept swimming around 😂😭
That one was a rare drop.
We don't talk about that egg. Ever since the incident.
It was a shiny
I saw that. What it made me think of was the claim that they only use Vital Farms eggs which i expect was the nicer orange color. I think they ran out of eggs (they eat a LOT of eggs on & off camera) & needed to use regular eggs in a pinch ?
Whenever he says "Cajun seasoning", we know it's Tony C's but they won't sponsor him which they should.
Tony C's is creole seasoning, not cajun.
@@Wolfgang8-Y But nobody outside of Louisiana and eastern Texas know the difference.
Im Australian now i need to hit google
He should try Slap ya' Mama Cajun seasoning, most everyone in Louisiana with me prefers it anyway.
They've never been shy about talking about Tony C's, why would you think they would be now?
Please Josh make more meal prep recipes, possibly some crockpot ones to, my diet depends on you
One of those egg yolks was REALLY orange and it just wouldn't pop for the longest time while he was whisking the eggs. I could not look away, I was mesmerized by the orange indestructible egg yolk! 👀
EDIT - Oof! I felt that mouth pain! Josh must have thought his mouth had hand levels of heat resistance!
yeah I was focused on it so hard Josh's head could have exploded and I would have been staring at the yolk.
@@OneOfDisease I'm so relieved I'm not the only one! 😄
i was also mesmerized by it and i kept wondering when it would break if at all xD
Glad I wasn't the only one fixated on that egg! 🤣

With 3 kids, my food prep is looking in the fridge to see what I didn't forget to buy at the store this week.
That's my issue. Man i got 2 kids & I'm really active at church & i homeschool & my husband works so he's gone a lot...im lucky i don't have a nervous breakdown & people are expecting me to _meal prep_ ?! Have you lost your mind?
We really struggled with this when we had our first kiddo, but we started writing out recipe's and now we have like 40 recipe's that we just add to a shopping cart for meal prep. We write out a "food calendar" like you had for school lunches and the shopping and stuff is simply adding it to a cart and picking it up, we rarely shop anymore and our spending has decreased dramatically because its all done. On sundays I make breakfast bites in a muffin tin that's just eggs spinach bacon/sausage and cheese I throw them in little baggies and freeze them. They go in the door of my freezer and my kid makes his own breakfast every morning by microwaving a baggie for 2 minutes. I also cook my chicken/pork/beef with garlic onion and olive oil and bag it up and freeze it in quart freezer bags, then pull it out for each meal. Basically every meal takes 15 minutes or less. We have a lot of rice, the instant pot is 1:1 for 12 minutes perfect rice every time. Spanish and fried rice I cook the rice a day early and fridge it. Just start keeping track of what meals you love, and pay specialy attention to what takes the most time to complete each meal.
Things important to us, 1 Pan meals that are quick to clean up. 15 minutes or less, this means meat is usually pre-cooked on sundays. It's saved us money and time, and stress.
I do the same thing with my eggs. Just with peppers and onions. I call it egg loaf but might start calling it a protein bar
Egg-tein bar
Pro-tegg bar
I must thank Josh for inspiring me to get back into cooking, much to my wife's dismay since it's very similar to your style.
And your percentage check out, 68% of statistics are made up on the spot anyways.

"Anyone can make up a statistic Kent. Forfty percent of all people know that."
Has Josh been forbidden to say "Tony Chachere's?" I have never heard him say "Cajun seasoning blend" before
he called it cajun seasoning last episode too! something's definitely afoot
Maybe Tony's actually approached for a potential sponsorship. Or issued a cease and desist.
@@turnonthejetz5251 The last episode was sponsored, so he's not allowed to mention another brand. God knows what happened in this episode
@@ramyareddy5750 wait, youre not allowed to mention another brand in a sponsored video?? what if someone says "i need a kleenex" or something lmao
Normal people say i need a tissue or a hanky 🤣
Josh: “It is really a pump and dump”
Me: “Oh that’s a funny stock reference”
Josh: “Does that refer to breastfeeding??”
If you didn't know, pump and dump is also a reference to breastfeeding. It refers to the act of pumping milk and then dumping it out if you've been drinking so that your baby isn't drinking slightly alcoholic milk
@@NoahHughes116 what if your child is white and Russian?
@@luvely1062 then go light on the coffee liquor
I thought it was just a reference to how my ex broke up with me.
A pump and dump is also a term for a casual hookup lol
Every time Josh says that all spices taste the same, every person with functioning taste buds screams.
My dad is like Gordon Ramsey level disgusted with the way you cook and I love watching him squirm. this was the perfect show for a father daughter moment. 🤣
That first recipe has a name. Its a Frittata. A giant Frittata cut into bars, but Frittata nonetheless.
No, it’s a crustless, milkless quiche. Didn’t you hear?
Josh please do more meal prep, this looks delicious and I’m going to make all of it. I’m finding it pretty hard to make new interesting food that is high in protein but relatively low in calories, but these recipes look like they work perfectly
I also, am a cook. I also, most often, eat slop bowls at home. I feel seen by this content.
Omg, these look awesome! I'd love to see more chaotic meal prep recipes in the future! Super entertaining, and something we can try to replicate at home
I feel like any time you layer your food on the dish it looks fancier than it is and you can be proud of your creation.
This is the content I want. I know the almighty algorithm might not favor this episode as much, but like, I do. So thanks, MK team.
My favourite meal prep trick is to make soup with half the amount of water you would want, then fill my lunch containers only halfway and store in the fridge. When I bring it to work, I leave it at room temperature in the morning, and instead of microwaving it, I just use the boiling water function from the lunchroom coffee machine (or you could use a kettle) to fill up the container. That way you can make lunch for a week with a regular size pot even if you like big lunches, and if you have access to a machine that dispenses boiling water, it's even faster to heat up than using a microwave.
Love seeing meal prep that’s actually interesting, and not yet fuel. I actually work in a small meal prep company, and people are always blown away by how delicious the food is while still being healthy. Honestly anything we have on our menu is simple to make too
Just when we thought he was only over the top for the show, we discover his recipe for protein bars and realize just how crazy his cooking life really is
I can't believe I'm just finding this. I've been a fan of GMM for so long. But just finding my way to your channel. This video is so chaotic. I need more.
Watching this, & comparing it with the recent Hot Dog podcast where they say that the thought of cooking at home makes them sick. It makes sense that he meal preps so he doesn't have to do more cooking at home during the week. Improvise, adapt, overcome.
I love the idea of meal prep. It makes me feel like i have my life together & I'm not just a constantly internally screaming mess at any given moment. Meal prepping for four people makes me instantly panic though cause the only real free time i have that I'm not home or church is Saturday & i don't want to spend the only day i have with my husband making meatballs.
would it be an activity he'd help you with? cooking together and such? Also I've found frozen veg to be amazing and if you have the freezer space you could make stuff even further than a week out. Even if its just some meals, not all at once.
The protein bars are such good meal prep. I’ve been doing the same thing for a few months. I call it breakfast casserole. You can cut it up and freeze the pieces, they’re good in the freezer for 2 months! Microwaves in 2 mins. Super easy breakfast.
I love this channel and basically every video that comes out, but I would be so down if Josh ever considers making a series of his home recipes. Heck I'll buy his recipe book if he makes one! (if he already hasn't)
17:55 this was the most relatable thing I've ever heard Josh say before lol Except it's not my girlfriend but my husband. This is literally a senario I have thought through many times and a conversation I've had with my husband many times. Lol 🤣
Josh just unloaded so much of his personal inconveniences the whole time and I’m living for it
the pork “transmogrifies” does it turn from a goblin into a beautiful halfling?

Yessss love the “realistic” recipes, this is so helpful!!!
I have never felt so personally attacked until josh's anecdote about having old limes in your fridge due to cocktail purposes then being too lazy to get a cutting board and knife to cut half a lime then leave the other lime half to inevitably dry out in the fridge
I still make the eggs and meat balls. They're both so freaking good. Josh I need you to make more of these.
4:15 Josh literally just made my mom’s breakfast casserole and added tomatoes. You’ll be hearing from our lawyer
Lmaooooo
My mom pretty much made the same thing, only replace the parchment paper with rolled out canned croissant dough. We always called it breakfast deep-dish pizza.

I’d love to see healthy dinner ideas. I’m a college student on a budget trying to eat healthy/clean and would really like recipes that’re nutritious. Thanks, love you guys!
So YT recommended my Mythical Kitchen and I've just been letting the algo slowly take me through the backlog. And I am very quickly falling in love with the slop method. I always called it Stuff With Things In It, but bowl of slop has now been added to my vocabulary. Idk, I'm glad to see someone else with the same methodology to cooking, because while I embrace my penchant for peasant food, not many people I know appreciate it in the same way.
the "protein bars" gave me an idea about a granola and custard breakfast bar,i need to try that now 😅
I am always struck with inspiration to do things like that at around 2:00 AM.
@@djjazzyjeff1232 always note them in your phone,you never know lol
Baked oatmeal is also a thing.
Everybody: "eggs". Josh: "A Y G S"
Came here to say the same thing. 😂
This is literally the neurodivergent food experience. I needed this today.
5:15 Josh you revived a memory i had. Back when I was younger there was this time my mom put an egg pan in the sink with egg still on it. It had soapy water all in it and I would just pick off the stuck eggs and eat it
Me every time I get done cooking: "slop's ready!"
I was actually on a cruise where a man went overboard. No they do not stop the boat. The Coast Guard is notified, if you’re near a country (we were near Nassau) they are notified and they search for the person. They never found the guy from my cruise, I don’t know if they’ve ever found anyone who goes overboard.
Love the chaotic meal prep!
The lime discussion is so REAL for me
that hot bite made me laugh snot everywhere
Josh is chaos and it makes me happy.
Please call your “protein” egg bars Egg-Gos! That would be hilarious and wonderful
I think this video is going to do more good for the world than Josh originally thought. I'm glad y'all made it.
I am soooo waiting for the episode where Brad Leone joins in on the insanity. Would be the best ever
Already happened. Don't get your hopes up. It was weird.
Josh is the chef for the masses.
Limes (sorry if others have said it) juice left over limes into a ice cube tray and you’ll have lime juice cubes ready to drop into any dish. Or cut into wedges and freeze in a freezer bag excellent for line water, vodka lime sodas and doubles as an ice cube.
You made a frittata and cut it into strips… gotta love it when people give their own special names to dishes that already exist.
Tip about coating the meatballs: You're gonna need to store em, so, just use the container you use to store em to toss the balls: Pop the balls in the container (Ziploc, or tupperware) pour the sauce over, close the container, shake, pop in your fridge. super easy.
I'm glad to know I cook dinner like a real chef. Bowl of slop is my specialty. Also, has Josh considered ASMR with that slurp?
My family makes that first recipe but with bacon instead of sausage and we put premade puff pastry ( Pillsbury soughboy stuff) on the bottom and add an extra layer of chedder on top- we refer to it as "egg bake"
you don't know what the Hamptons are? they are cities on Long Island New York. Westhampton Beach, Hampton Bays, Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton
Congratulations to Josh and Trevor on the engagement!
Might just be me but I would love to see more vegan and vegetarian dishes from Mythical kitchen, maybe starting with a meal prep similar to this? Either way, love your work guys!
I also would love more vegan, vegetarian stuff. I'm not even vegetarian but I want to incorporate more of it into my diet.
10:14 hissing at an imaginary cat while brandishing a scoop then dropping raw meat on the floor is a certified josh classic
Please make more meal preps! Every other tutorial I see is so pretentious. I don’t want to give thanks to the seven divinities of superfood; I want to make sure I have delicious,tasty food for my busy week and/or executive dysfunction (depression) meals
Also I know everyone in the comments is saying this is a frittata; I’m not disagreeing, but the more on brand title should probably be along the lines of “Josh’s Morning Thick Bricks”
14:35 Josh's inner Morty clawed his way out and took control for a bit
Dang that slop bowl looks tasty. I think I'll try the protein bars.
17:37 the most accurate rant ever. No other cooking show will mention this.
I want to see Sam The Cooking Guy on Last Meal
Saying thank you is more than good manners. It is good spirituality.
I recently seen a TikTok of someone opening up a clovervale brand pp&j graham wafer sandwich and it totally unlocked a core memory. I’d love to see Josh try and recreate this childhood memory!
I watch pretty much every episode of Mythical Kitchen, and I don't ever really comment, but I really enjoyed this more down-to-earth quick and dirty style of cooking because I'm not that skilled in the kitchen and these recipes seemed like things I myself not only could but WOULD make. So thank you, I hope you guys make more content like this! (Not that I don't love your regular stuff too)
The thing that irks me every episode: the neglected remainder in every prep bowl. Is it too much to ask to scrape the bowls clean? Why must there always be a small handful of ingredients leftover in each bowl, to be inevitably discarded wastefully?
😭😭😭😭 This kinda bugs me too tbh there's so much left there 🙆♀️
More meal prep please! these recipes look awesome and my mouth was watering the whole time! As a new is meal prepper i feel like this video was made for me, i appreciate how easy and open-ended Josh keeps it! Love ya buddy!
Anyone else notice Josh's dark egg?
I'm convinced that 90% of the workplace injuries at the GMM offices, is just Josh burning his mouth on food. The other 10% is Link stabbing Rhett with sharp objects while blindfolded.
Feels illegal to be this early
Ikrr
the fact that he called it a hoagie roll makes me very happy as a new jersey/philly resident
This is exactly how I like to cook for myself, but significantly sadder. I'm currently regretting ever becoming vegetarian.
13:45 definitely love josh using an oyster shucker to remove the ham bone... instead of... the deboning knife on the magnet strip behind him...
This is my favorite mk video so far, probably because it hit so close to home and made me hungry, I make that last one all the time with various ingredients and call it “bowl meal”. Nice work!!!
On his lime tangent, I would use one half of the lime to season the dish and another for a drink. Also, when I’m lazy, which is most of the time, I will use napkins rather than a cutting board.
Josh eating the scalding hot egg thing had me screaming "STOOOOP" at the tv
Egg-bakes are legit as hell. I've been making them for years and they are an absolutely awesome breakfast that will last you at least a week. Only takes like an hour to make and you can put basically anything in them. A little salted yogurt and some salsa on the side and you've got like a square omelette situation
I love the simplicity of the meals and that you don't put people down for buying quick cook rice, or canned beans.
0.8-1.0 g per *KG* as baseline. 1.5-1.8 if you’re an endurance athlete. ~1.2-1.5 if you’re mainly lifting weights/short bursts cardio.
Josh's rambling about tossing stuff in the pot, the struggle of knowing how to cook rice right, and the hassle it is to get that old lime out of the fridge and use another cutting board hit extra hard for me today.
