The IPLDP are being phased out now as we move towards the PCDA, PPD and DHEP courses I have had a few requests for this video :) Hope it helps! Thanks for watching
Are you for met ? Does anyone know generally timing for the whole ipldp programme? Is it 9-5 or different? I received offer, but need to agree on start date.
@@VitaZorge normally for the IPLDP they told me normally that your shifts do change when your in lesson so for example some days it would be 8am - 3 an and other days it would be 9am -4 pm but I need to check again because I’m doing full-time and im suppose to be doing 40 hours a week so part time officers it’s a bit different and for the shifts when you get out on the week 12 when you do your patrolling in your shifts alternate between day and night shifts.
Can you explain more about the cirriculm? When do you get trained for bluelight response etc. Im suprised you get the uniform on the first week thats amazing, do you take that home or how does that work? Many thanks
Hi, yes you take it home! You get blue light training a little later on, you’ll have to pass your police A-B first (it’s just like a long driving test) you need to be confident driving different models of car, and in big boots! You can’t change into driving shoes before your test (I asked) just remember the basics from your initial driving test and adhere to the speed limit and you’ll be fine
I’m currently in the navy. Does that help towards joining the police? I read somewhere having prior military experience is equivalent to an A level. Is this true?
Im looking at ways to join the police force, im currently a security guard and have been for the past 9 years. I only have my gcse's, i dont have any A-levels as didnt go to college or uni. If i couldnt join this way as having no level 3 qualifications do you know of any ways to get into policing as not having a level 3 qualification is the only thing stopping me so far. Or is it a case of i will need to do a level 3 course before i can even think about joining ? Thanks

Hiya Hayley, thankyou for making this video it was very helpful! I was just wondering, I have a L2 in English and a L2 in maths, I also have a level 3 foundation diploma in sports and fitness. Do you think I that I would be eligible for the IPDLP?
Awesome, your UCAS points will depend on what grade you have achieved, if you Google UCAS points calculator it will show this tool you can use once you have entered your results :) then check with the organisation you are going to, to see what their requirements are
Hey, what are the educational requirements for this course? I failed all my Gcse's but I got 3 BTEC level 2 and functional skills level 2 English, will I be eligible for the Initial Police Learning and Development Programe?
Hi Jason, you need L2 English and L2 maths and a L3 qualification upto about 64 UCAS points, you can check your point total on the UCAS website. A L3 Btec would usually count, as would Alevels (some others too)

Hi, you won't need the PCDA if you do the IPLDP if your goal is solely to become a police officer. If you are wanting the degree element as well you would need the L3 requirements prior to enrolling 😊
@@jacobdrury3986 hi Jacob, HE is Higher Education, the Access course is a 1 year course that gives you enough credits/UCAS points to enrol onto the course. If you have a look at the UCAS points calculator you can work out what you already have :)
