The broom doesn't symbolize sweeping away the old and ushering in the new....it's an old tradition dated back to slavery because slaves couldn't get married jumping the broom signified they were married

My question is... after the ceremony what do you do with the broom? Do you throw is away?

No - don't throw it away! 😆 Most of my couples either 1. Display them in their homes (I make it with a hook at end of the handle for hanging ;-) OR 2. Get them framed in a custom shadow box 3. I once had a bride that gifted her broom to a friend that was getting married after her (something borrowed) 😊 And the friend turned around and gifted it to another friend ...It became a tradition in their group.💕
