They're professional ballet dancers, they spend longer than that on pointe during a three hour ballet let alone all the time spent every day in the rehearsal room and in class
This show is achingly beautiful and a stunning melding of fashion, popular culture (the ballerina all young girls dream of) and dance - the choreography brings the clothes to life, and dancers are models of the human form and its muscular grace in a way that the anorexic underaged and their masters cannot ever hope to attain. Jeremy Scott take notice - this is how it's done - fun, yet still a showcase of talent and taste...Bravo, bravo - really lovely.
Well, I don't think this models are non-traditional, if your question is implying that. But about using non-traditional models I have to say it is very positive and it always works.
Víctor Alfonso Ruiz Gómez How are they traditional models though? Traditional models have larger breasts (granted, not THAT much larger) than these women, and are very skinny. These women are all muscle. Lean muscle, but muscle nevertheless. I've never seen a model with legs and arms like these women.
FreshLemonyGoodness Well, we have then different references, I have seen many models like those, many. I guess it also depends on the runways you watch.
I dance ballet, the first years on pointe it hurts, but after a while you get used to it, I think they weren't in pain (not more than the usual), but walking on pointe for a very long time can be demanding, you must have all your leg muscles working in order for it to look great. They are professionals, trust me, this show was a walk in the park for them.
loved the start of the show but then when they started to appear I was like OH MY GOD! not for the clothes, but for the toes..yes I know they are professionals, but it distracted me from looking at the clothes, that and the sloppy hair. Did like the bow dress at 2:36...the ballet -beautiful...the clothes beautiful...why the nasty hair??? cant tell, but the images on the dresses...printed? or embroidered?...hopefully embroidered. As much as we like the birds and bows, the birds remind us too much of the birds often found in "rockabilly" designs...not high end designer wear. Loved the end of the show, but again was watching how they performed instead of focusing on the clothes..and that's really why i am watching..right?!? overall, nice wearable pieces that could easily fit into anyone's closet..and that's a good thing:) stay fashionable! Buck and Zinko!
The show was really beautiful, but the ad for the perfume at the end ruined it for me. It seems as if the whole collection was just created to promote the perfume - which it probably was
To everyone who thinks this must be very painful: it isn't. Jumping and dancing, yes, but just doing corrus (is that how you spell it?) is not that painful at all. And some of the girls were quite sloppy actually. Made them way too big.
I just can't stop comparing the pain I feel looking at these beautiful women and those of Chanel feeling free and comfortable with the sneakers...this comparison is dramatic...and it leads me to the conclusion that this show is absolutely decadent and anachronistic...not looking for a couture proposal but an aura for the new fragance...beautiful but disappointing
don't agree... i think you should really focus on the message of the collection, the quality of the design, the originality, and details, not the pain the models might be feeling CAUSE THEY ARE GETTING PAID THOUSANDS TO PERFORM,and they did it beautifuly.
dionisio garcia Hahahahah...well, I don't think about money when watching them, I just feel pain...and the hairstyle, the tattoo concept, their static arms, their limited movement...is absolutely painful and decadent, at least in a aestethic point of view....And I absolutely agree that the show is exquisite from the clothes to the ballerinas...It reminds me so much of the dreamy paintings of Remedios Varo with all her beautiful hairy characters...but you may not deny that watching this show after the Chanel one with all the models in sneakers and a contemporary classic haute couture collection is absolutely shocking...Perhaps this contrast extols their qualities...but I was talking from the point of view of fashion, not from the artistic dimension of the show.
i like the ballet-inspired outfits because i have always dressed in dancer-inspired clothes for casualwear. the ballet runway theme is artistic and interesting at a first glance.but it is very dark and creepy, and the girls tends to look like models from hell, especially because of their bushy hair covering their face, similar to characters from a horror movie. but overall it is interesting, creative and a different spin for fashion runway.
I think the show is better than the clothes on their own, the shape of the pieces is very lazy-looking, it looks like it was cut without any intentionality. On the other hand: good color, textures, combinations and concept.
LOVE the artistic ballet show! - Dislike the latex fashion! Well done to the professional ballet dansers of the Dutch National Ballet :-) your poor feet, it must have hurt like hell, and toes full of blisters and blood .. auw :-(
omg i almost cried watching that. it was beautiful
Absolutely exquisite. Viktor & Rolf continue to do things that no one else is doing. Great work!
Beautiful, the ballerina's from Dutch National Ballet rock!
Breathtakingly Beautiful!
The most brilliant catwalk that all we ever seen! Creativity is the key
true art…just breathtaking and captivating. I had tears and fell in love. Thank you V&R
I love how subtly creepy yet beautiful this whole presentation was. Merging everything together just brings you into the scene.
I love how the hair covers their face, they look so androgynous with such a ballerina body type. Ooo gawd this was wondrous.
WOW. What an artistic show
this is art ! best couture show this season !
Wow can't believe m close to tears Viktor & Rolf embody everything I believe when it comes to art and passion they never disappoint.
A wonderful piece of performance art, simply stunning.
Alucinante!
OMG! Some pointe shoes instead of ribbons, had a little bow! Lovely
Serene presentation of haute couture, that is so often presented in a 'noisy' way! Beautiful!
Love Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren -- they're fantastic.
Absolutely beautiful!
Oh my God... It's the most incredible show I've ever seen! And music is amazing, magic!

What do you think of the idea of using non-traditional models on the catwalk?
I love it! it's different but lovely!
Well, I don't think this models are non-traditional, if your question is implying that. But about using non-traditional models I have to say it is very positive and it always works.
I LOVE IT. It is interesting to see something different on the catwalk.

Always wonderful organization of shows, real art
Interesting and charming but I don't know if it worked for me fully.
Always innovative.
Bravo!
at the end of the show was an amazing show... very dramatic and theatrical... it's like watching a ballet show :)
It's so creepy and entrancing. I love it.
Awesome!
More models of colour!!!
Brilliant!
I could feel the pain in these girls, but wonderful show.

amazing show!
beautiful!!!
Woow!!! Increible!! Artístic catwalk..
I kept getting distracted by flashbacks from Black Swan when Nina split her toenail Xo
Even on points, they walk better than some models!
Ballerinas have to be able to work better than any other person, it is not surprising to me.
Nu ook nog zo dansen dan komt het goed..;-)
so beautiful.
BRAVO!
Anybody know the name of the song? It's beautiful....
1daful I like so much. ? Love the dresses too
anyone knows what the music is?
does anyone know who the music is by?
songs:
Re - Nils Frahm
Went Missing - Nils Frahm
More - Nils Frahm
Magnifique décor lyrique, qui d'ailleurs rivalise contre ceux de Chanel.
тot practical clothes
Print? in haute couture?
I find myself looking at their colorless faces and hair more than the dresses. Reminds me of house of wax. LOVE the ballet though.
WOW!
omg this is like karlie kloss in one show its so beaut
what is the name of the music ?
maravilloso :)
Not to leave do comparison: Rick Owens was more exciting (and significant).

I also got distracted by the toes. "Is it hurt?" "aren't they tired?" those questions keep passing my mind.
Show is cool but where is the Couture???
Good question.
pour toutes les amoureuses de danse classique c'est super!!! le seul hic leur coiffure :/
The show was really beautiful, but the ad for the perfume at the end ruined it for me. It seems as if the whole collection was just created to promote the perfume - which it probably was
(Y) INCREIBLE
Guuuaauu!

Rick Owens but Victor & Rolf
a very interesting concept but the walk bothered me

Am I the only one who thought of Miley Cyrus' nasty outfit when I saw the first few models? Lol great show though
LOVE the artistic ballet show! - Dislike the latex fashion!

your poor feet, it must have hurt like hell, and toes full of blisters and blood .. auw :-(
This is creeping me out.
Ouch ouch ouch !!! But a really different approach!
Just do not understand why hair like that
this ballerina thing is annoying..couldn't they use a few, have some base hit and a runway show? the clothes are beautiful but this is distracting
Scary
It's freakin horrifying
IT SCARED ME
i don't think it is beautiful, it seems a horror movie
this is creepy
Absolutely beautiful!
WOW!
