It's really cool to see all the behind the scenes parts that come together to produce something as grandiose as a building that's going to be standing for the next 50-70 years
Structural Engineering is a concentration within Civil Engineering. A structural engineer can be considered a civil engineer but a civil engineer isn't necessarily a structural engineer (they can be a geotechnical engineer, transportation engineer, or environmental engineer - which are the most popular other concentrations within civil engineering). A typical "Civil Engineer" isn't restricted to bridges and buildings, but may work with roadways, stormwater, airports, and much more.
@rekehavoc13 interesting, did you major in civil engineering? in my university, i'm in my 2nd year of a civil engineering bachelor and we've already had to use calculus to calculate 2D beam deflections, fluid mechanics, and will use complex numbers for dynamics next semester. i'm opting to do an elective in finite elements analysis next semester. i agree that most of the maths involved (at least so far) is algebra and trigonometry, but calculus and complex numbers are still important.
I have a BA undergraduate degree in Architecture. I'd love to get into structural engineer columbia sc but unsure how to go about it. Can I get a Msc with an undergraduate BA?

I am motivated to take structural eng course now!!

OMG prison break is the reason I sparked an interest in this career
Noah VanBlarcom I hope you're enjoying season 5. Nice start after like 10 years of the sudden crappy ending. lol
haha I study civil engineering too, because of prison break
@italianotipo007 we did differential equations in our first year. i'm opting for an elective in finite elements analysis for my third year.

Im going to Mac for civil :) What year are you in?

Interesting
She is wearing heels at the site? You shouldn't even wear shoes, only work boots
how much money do you make?!?!
I'm a engineer student but I'm still going to take architecture course, it's best to know both sides
high heels and a suit.....lol
i wanna be like you :)
A Civil Engineer on heels. It's absurd!
THIS VIDEO IS NOT WORKING URGGGHHHH
For me to be a Structural Engineer what relvent UK qualifications will I need maths, etc.
Whats the typical salary?
