(Birmingham city supporter) Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it. Congratulations to the Spartans but my heart goes out to Albion. So tough to get back into the league, East Stirlingshire, Berwick Rangers, Cowdenbeath, Brechin City now Albion Rovers. I hope the their young supporters stick with them and are not drawn to the lure of old firm sides. Best luck to both teams next season.

How is it healthy to have both Coatbridge and Berwick both out of the Scottish league.

Really sorry to see Albion take the plunge, but the football was dire.
Maybe, a bobbly pitch, but control of the ball was as rare as a successful one-two.
Was it me or did Rovers look more ponderous than they should have done for a game of this magnitude?
Thanks for the vid; full of atmosphere and loyal fans!
At least it ain't all Auld Firm in Scotland.

Thanks for your comments. I said in my vlog that they were poor for a team fighting for its leagle survival. Albion Rovers on,y managed to score 1 goal over 2 legs. Even Brechin managed to score 3 goals in their 2 legs against The Spartans

Rovers very unlucky to finish bottom on 39 points, that's usually good enough for comfortable mid-table safety. Some big away wins but their home form pre-Sandy Clark was awful. Hopefully they can still finish top 5 in the LL and give it a better crack next season. Currently W4 D1 L4 so it's not going to happen this season.

Looked like they could have squeezed a few hundred more fans into the ground. I wonder why the police set the crowd size so low?

That's why I mentioned it as I couldn't understand why there was so much space. Probably more of a guess. When was the last time there was an all ticket game at Cliftonhill?

I am glad Albion Rovers gone down, their stadium & set up is god awful!! I hope many more will drop down to non league, so processing clubs will come up to replace the bad rubbish.

Better than B team loving non supported clubs like Spartans. Other than the young lads who realistically goes to see Spartans. Usually I like to see the new teams in the SPFL but this year it was sad to see Albion Rovers go. They have done a lot of good work on an old ground that beats the soulless newer 4g arenas popping up.

@@jackmc10 Sad to see Albion go down . I like the traditional clubs and grounds.
Watched Spartans they have a good community set up but don't think Edinburgh really needs another League Team . Sad to see the likes of East Stirling, Cowdenbeath, Berwick and Brechin go in recent years. Edinburgh City should be relegated just for having a bus shelter as aground 😄

@@Sportspenguin77 aye mate. I’m probably being a wee bit harsh on Spartans. But just for once this year would have been happier for the league team to stay up. The one positive is that as more decent teams drop in and get promoted to the lowland the league clubs will start to see it as just another division and not an abyss of no return.

    • @Sportspenguin77

@@jackmc10 That is a good point with regards to the Lowland League. Certainly so far no team has come back from relegation although Brechin were almost there this season losing to Spartans in the inter league playoff . Just hope that some of these small town teams can come back soon. With regards to Spartans nothing against them. They seem to have a great community set up and the senior team getting promotion is icing on the cake just don't want to see the league full of Glasgow n Edinburgh sides who have an obvious advantage in attracting players

As recently as 2017 Albion Rovers were in League One. It's not lack of ambition, any team with only a few hundred supporters can finish bottom. It was also a freak season. No team has ever finished bottom on 39 points before. How Rovers managed to go down after 5-1 win at leaders Dumbarton and back to back 4-0 away wins before that is incredible.

What a VERY disappointing performance from the Rovers!! I was born in Coatbridge and me and my Dad would go to all the games when I was a kid. This was around the mid 80's to early 90's and back in those days, Dad would be allowed to just pay for himself, then he'd lift me over the turnstiles, lol. I used to live for the weekend coming and us going to the match, home and away. Back then before my Dad had a car, we'd travel to the away games on the supporters bus that left from the old Royal, a pub down Langloan in the Brig thats not there anymore. But it was great meeting all the same proper Albion Rovers fans who'd go to see them every week, good seasons and bad. We were there I think it was 1988, when the Rovers won the old 2 division. There was only the 3 divisions back then, the Premier, the 1st, and the 2nd. We won the old 2nd division beating Dumbarton 2-0 at Clifton Hill, and I always remember all the fans ran onto the pitch at the final whistle, and me walking up to the Rovers manger, thinking I was a big lad and shaking his hand like men do, lol. The Rovers manager was the great Davie Provan ((not the ex-celt)) and it'd been the 1st time we'd been promoted since the 1920's or something very long like that and it was a great time. They've manages to win it another couple of times since it's been the new 4 tier Scottish system but over time I'd grown up and going to the matches with my Dad faded, although I've ALWAYS looked out and supported their results ever since. Anyway, back then, even finishing bottom of Division 2 wouldn't see you relegated like nowadays, where I've seen teams I've grown up watching Rovers play and who's grounds I've been to, like East Stirling, Cowdenbeath, Berwick Rangers and Brechin, and it's only Brechin, who've managed to climb back out of that Highland League. The others are STILL in the Lowland League, where Rovers will begin next season, taking the place of The Spartans who won this play-off. It's just so difficult for those smaller teams to climb back up from those league's as the talent is I'd say on par with Scotland's league 2, even some of League 1's teams too, so I'm very fearful for the future of Albion Rovers. Having Sandy Clark as manger could maybe be key in them getting back up, IF they can manage to hold onto him. Anyway people, that was just my story about following The Wee Rovers. I pray I'm wrong amd they'll be able to do what East Stirling, Cowdenbeath and Berwick haven't, and get straight back out of that Lowland League.
C'mon The Wee Rovers, prove me wrong. I'd ❤ that.😢😢
