Whether it be telling people an alias, lying about were you live, it doesn't matter, the moment you start trying to do illegal things online, the moment you log in to another account, boom, you're a different person, with a different life, the problem with a lot of hackers is that they love ego, popularity and identity, they want people to know it was THEM who did so and so thing, he could have deadass flexed the watch on a different account or something, with no one knowing it was him, but of course he didn't.

Someone doesn't need to be on the inside to do a sim swap. Hackers call the companies pretending to be the victim with a spoofed number and change account details to have access to the sim card. Then with that you can log into any services with 2fa linked to a phone number. Emails, bank accounts, crypto accounts, everything.

That's confusing because typically, and I emphasize that, there are further security questions regarding the account access. So when a service provider asks for a PIN number, or security questions that are particularly more specific, how can hackers access that information with just a spoofed phone number? Is there a software ore some sort of method to be able to access that information to break that wall of security? It's hard to believe any sort of security if all of that is susceptible to breaches. What comes next? Photo ID? That could easily be countered based off of reverse image searching. Seriously... what else can you do to prevent an attack on your finances?
@@harterza It's more about the hacker convincing the operator that they're the real owner of the account. If they don't know the security questions, they might have to find another way to verify, which could be photo id (which could easily be photoshopped) or perhaps verifying the ssn which the hacker may have access to. These attacks can be coordinated by anyone that knows how to work a computer. Phone providers need to switch something up because if anyone can call in and access your account it feels very insecure.
