Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAKK.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Gentaro is HUGE now!
So cute playing on the tyre ❤
While watching Kintaro sleeping peacefully, I thought how he is a very protected young gorilla! ❤ He is the only member of the troop that has not had traumatic experiences in his young life.
I can't help but believe that Kintaro is adored by his mom, loved by his dad, and is best 'gorilla' friends with his big brother.
How different the dynamics might be had Momotaro lived with a silverback to emulate, Genki's experiences at Ueno had been different, and Gentaro was able to breastfeed and not be separated from his family for 10.5 months.
It is wonderful to see Kintaro curious, unafraid, and daring - just the way, in my opinion, that a young gorilla should be! 🥰

No sabemos lo que mide Momotaro de alto.Pero de ancho,parece un luchador de sumo japonés 😂.Y,kintaro aunque no es un niño,lo parece con las pelotas viejas.Los niños pequeños la mayoría tienen que ir con su juguete preferido y,su almohada para dormir.Parecia,que quería subirse a,la espalda de Genki,como cuando era pequeño.Ahora no puede.Entonces lo ayudaba su madre cogiendolo de los brazos.😘GL?
I think Kintaro was checking his mother's estrus, not trying to climb on her back. She bowed down like she does when she wants to mate and Kintaro always either smells her or touches her. He is getting old enough to recognize the scent.
Kintaro may be copying Gentaro, by napping alone..
So many cute Kintaro moments today. The way he leaned on the wooden box watching is big brother eat. Kintaro is swinging on the tire. Napping. Swinging on the ceiling with dad. Kintaro's a fascinating little gorilla.

Do you know what I think about Kintaro not wanting to touch another ball ?because his favorite ball is something he definitely loves and he will not even think about getting rid of it ❤️these folks are someone we can all learn from ,the love they carry is so real even a rubber ball he calls his own . 🇯🇵

Kintaro is growing up! Maybe that is why he is enjoying the tire.
The new balls would be stiffer and smell of rubber. Kintaro probably prefers the worn in versions that have his scent on them.

Kintaro is a mum’s boy and IDK buttttt I think that you are completely right even being separated just for the half a day he’s gonna make sure his mum doesn’t go nowhere else. Something like in that one video where Kentrell ran through the door and Genki with all of her might push down on it to open it so she could be with Kintaro 😊😊😊😊 Genki isn’t going to let any human take another baby from her😮😮😮
I always wonder if the zoo will give Kintaro other toys to play with. There are so many creative and colorful things they could do. I bet he would really love that ❤
I agree. The zoo needs to provide more enrichment for the gorillas and promote socialization. This family really deserves it. It was so nice to see Genki engaging inside with the numbers the other day. She looked like she was enjoying it. 💕🦍

@@hoptoit5910 I just think they could do better than a few rubber balls and a hanging tire. I am saying this because in comparison to other zoos the Momotaro group seems bored 90% of the time with very little stimulation.

Genki sempre fica no terreno pegando o que ela quer comer, Kintaro cheirou a mãe, pode ser muitas razões, mas tem gente que so pensa em cio e acasalamento, ela não estava em posição para acasalar mente limitada, Kintaro nao quer subir nas costas da mãe, ele tem consciência que não dá mais.
