    ...next level..the new 5x5m DD tarp...group shelter...😂

    I love my DD 4x4! I can create a 6 ft. A-frame with this tarp. I can also create what I call the cave by bringing a tarp pole to the front while using a shorter pole to prop up the rear section. If I go with a diamond configuration I have enough room to create a hammock palace with room to spare! As for heavy downpours-this thing is perfect for keeping the weather at bay!

    Instead of tying the front flaps back you csn pull them forward with cord and stake em off and it would make a tunnel to help stop wind even more

    Now I'm wondering if you could sew in a stove jack about 1.5m centered up the back and then pack in a small titanium wood stove for an ultralight winter hot tent. Oh the possibilities haha.

    • @RedBranchBushcraft
      @RedBranchBushcraft  Рік тому +3

      Lol, your going mad with it now, but I don't see what not , promly tents have stoves in them, same type of material

      Have you tried it?
      Tarps are always great.
      My daughter wants to try hot tent winter camping.
      I can’t quite spring for a winter hot tent. Since we just bought new personal size hiking tents, new packs, etc, etc.

    Can one add their own tie downs within a 3 3 space and just manage the excess somehow and use it as a 3 3?

    If you pitched it the other way, you could use the middle loops to guy out the roof for more space

  • @randyyeager
    @randyyeager 2 роки тому +2

    I think ya need to make it 3 sided pyramid shaped and use the 4th side as a door you can close.

  • @truthseeker3404
    @truthseeker3404 Рік тому +3

    If you add tieouts on other empty spaces you'll be able to extend the walls even further.

    Hey look it’s the green ghost!😅😂
    🤔🤔🤔
    I saw 2 configurations, but can you set it up as a cabin tent? 🤔3 semi vertical walls and a front that can close off?
    How many configurations can you pitch that tarp as a shelter?

  • @33rdGemini

    Would a 3 x 3 tarp fill the floor using the same ground stakes that were used to hold the 4 x 4 tarp?

    • @RedBranchBushcraft
      @RedBranchBushcraft  Рік тому +2

      Now that's something I don't know, I wouldn't use an expensive tarp like this as a ground sheet

    • @33rdGemini
      @33rdGemini Рік тому +1

      @@RedBranchBushcraft I'm assuming, but it looks like two stakes could also be placed in the front 2 corners, so the front flaps could be pulled closed and secured to those as needed. If not then the two outer front stakes might need to a bit closer together, for a smaller opening. Also, this tent could probably also use clips to attach mosquito netting to the front opening. This is an extremely versatile tent form for sure. Really nice video.

    Not sure what you think. But I think that is MASSIVE. 😏 I just bought one of those and I really appreciate your giving me a head start on some ways to utilize it. I bought it after watching a number of 3x3 pitches which produced a floored, somewhat narrow tent. I’m figuring maybe the 4x4 will be a little less narrow. As I’ll be the only one utilizing it I guess I better look around for a dog. Lol Loved the “stalk” video. Clearly you have a wonderful friend by your side. 👍 Guess this American of Scottish ancestry (Graham) better subscribe.
