My Dad started taking to KUFootball games when John Riggins and Bobbie Douglas(QB) we’re playing. Saw both his brothers play as well. Missed Gales Sayers by one season. Great players.

I've just come across this video and what a treat. I've been a Redakins fan since 82 when I was 12, living in the UK then. Riggins, Theismann, The Hogs, Monk & Co will always be Redskins heros. Even our defense was so formidable, Butz, Manley, Coleman and of course Mr D Green with his legendary speed, were the best team in the NFL. Most of th NFC Pro Bowl team were Redskins players back in the day. Massive respect to you guys and always the squad that teams these days still look up to. Riggins , what a legend!!🙏

People really don't know how good Riggo was especially after 30 which for runners they decline. John just got better and having the Hogs there really helped. He wasn't a quick runner but he would give you 5 yards or 7 yards or 4 yards per run.
Riggins was a beast in his heyday!
If he would have been given more of an opportunity in his early years he probably would be in the top ten for NFL career rushing yards!
I know some people might disagree but to me Riggins was the most fun to watch of any running back ever.
