  • Hello Welcome back to the channels guys 😀
    If you're new here, my name is Arif and I am a first-year student at ESSEC Business School for their Grande Ecole Master in Management program.
    Today's video is all about the different accommodations provided to international students by the school through ALEGESSEC and also about the kind of residence you can get outside of the school.
    First I go about covering the Port Residence which is located right near ESSEC and the prefecture station, hardly a 5-10 minute walk from ESSEC. Next is the Les Linandes residence which is about 20 minutes by foot but is nicely located near a bus stop, some grocery stores, and fast-food chains. After that, I cover a student residence that is outside of ALEGESSEC, which is located right at the prefecture station and is just a 5-minute walk from ESSEC. Last, I come back to my own residence - Les Hauts De Cergy. Don't forget to check my video about my room in the CLH residence - • ESSEC Student Residenc...
    Here are the timestamps for different sections of the video:
    0:00 - Intro
    0:59 - Port Residence
    1:57 - Les Linandes Orange
    3:14 - Sergic Residence (NOT A PART OF ALEGESSEC)
    4:08 - Les Hauts De Cergy

    ⏳ Timeline
    I had applied to ESSEC Business School for their Grande Ecole Master in Management program in the 3rd round and received my acceptance back in March 2020. After applying for my student visa back in August 2020, I finally got the chance to fly to France at the end of September and start school. My first trimester got over in December 2020 and now I am fresh in this new year starting my 2nd trimester.
    As always, thanks for watching and I will see you in the next one 😁

    Hi Arif. i know this may be a bit too much to ask but could you do a rerun of the alegessec residences including the one for first year BBA students. I'm finding it hard to make a final decision before seeing a video on the 'residence du parc.'
    I'm sure I would not be the only one who would find it very helpful, just as this one has been.
    This video has been helpful regardless!!

    Hi Arif, thank you for sharing! I wonder if there is also another residence provided by the algessec called " le parc" ? Is it near the school ?

    HI Arif! Great Video! May I ask about the safety around the school residences area or very in general? I have heard stories of students being robbed there but I am not sure how accurate it is. Also, for the residences are there fees like administration and electricity on top of the monthly fees stated in the brochure from Essec?If so, should you recommend we rent an airbnb apartment instead?

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  Рік тому +1

      Well yes there have been 1-2 cases of robbery but every city will have that no matter where you live.
      Other than that I’ve always felt safe.
      Yes there is an admin charge but that’s one time fee for a year. Other than the rent mentioned is the only expense.
      I wouldn’t recommend an airbnb for a long term stay if you’re enrolled as a student. Might become a very expensive option plus no community aspect of the residence.

    Between Cergy Les Hauts and Les Linandes, would you say the former is much more safe/better value for money than the latter? I heard about some criminality concerns about Linandes
    Also, is it true that if you want to move out (e.g. for an internship), you can give up your room even before your contract ends and you don't need to keep paying rent?
    Thanks so much for sharing!

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  2 роки тому

      Yep, you can give a notice period of 1 month and move out

    Hi Arif! I was assigned to Linandes and now I am very worried because of the security issues I've read on internet, is anything I could do to change my assignation? I really appreciate how much you are helping us all.

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  Рік тому +1

      Hi Vanya, don’t worry about it. It’s not as unsafe as it’s portrayed. Almost everything is exaggerated but if you want you can still write to ALEGESSEC and mention them the reason you’d want to shift to either Port or Cergy Les Hauts

    Hey Arif! Do we get CAF in the Sergic residence as well or is the rent too high to be eligible for CAF?

  • @rin-kd8ow
    @rin-kd8ow 2 роки тому +2

    is the CAF more or less guaranteed for international students? i mean the housing subsidy?

    Hi! Thank you for this video. It is quiet useful! I'm interested in the place that your friend is staying at (sergic business residence). I'm wondering if you know how big is the bed at Sergic? It seems like a 140*200 bed to me. Thank you in advance :)

    Hii! Where would you recommend staying for the first year of Global BBA, le Port campus or Sergio Residence?

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  3 роки тому +1

      As both are extremely close to the campus, both should be fine but in the Port residence you will have the added advantage of the ESSEC community

    Hi
    Can you tell us about the sports facilities ?

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  3 роки тому

      At CLH, you have a tennis court, a squash room, enough open space to play football and cricket, and also a TT table. Rest of the residences don’t have much open space around but since the school is just about 5 10mins away you can use the facilities there

    And what about employment opportunities
    And hows about social life at like making friends and all

    • @iArifAhmad
      @iArifAhmad  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, MBA at ESSEC is also very good. There are many industries and sectors where you can get great jobs and not just in France but all around Europe. Social life is also amazing although you need to learn French a lot.
