Sonic & Shadow have never said the other was faster. In fact, Sega states in they're equals in every regard. In game, they've been stated to not be inferior to eachother in anyway.
I literally ended up remembering after recording this video, you’re 100% right. I could’ve swore one game shadow stated sonic was faster but it’s been a good minute since I’ve played a sonic game
