As we all suspected, some returned guitars are shipped out again. All those scratches and cracks and neck knotholes make this one a double return. Neat follow up, J!
I wondered when I got my LJ guitars, if they had been previous returns. There just was too much wrong for them to be new. Thanks for the update! Cheers!
Right on! I agree that a customer should feel good about a purchase whatever the details, especially for guitars which can vary from a particular sample. If not satisfied, I'll sometimes order another one to see that one fixes any issues. I'll give up to 3, and then just call it a day if not satisfied, and then return them all. Love Amazon for this ability to do this easily.
That’s a big deal to me. I would also return this guitar. I ordered Tele Ultra from Fender believing I am safe with them. They sent me guitar with blemishes on the neck and infinite amount of micro scratches on the whole body for a full price. I returned it and decided to make a partscaster. I’m extremely happy with my partscater. It plays fabulous and has not even one scratch and/or blemish.
I love the fact that we can purchase low priced guitars but this is exactly why I have stopped doing that. I have learned my lesson that 9 out of 10, you get a problem guitar more than a decent one at the very least. Too bad.....
@@jazzguitarneophyte-christo7988 yeah Roba certain point, it's the luck of the draw, However all of my guitars are budgets and they are fantastic. I do my own work and any guitar can be upgraded and modded to suit the player. I need to have a good neck in a tight fitting pocket, decent frets and that's it. Even the fenders and Gibson's on the wall of my local music store are poorly set up, rarely intonated, come with no case for an absolutely ridiculous price tag! I much rather spend a couple of hundred and make a guitar my own, than spending a couple of thousand on one and still having to make it my own hahaha... Maybe it's just me lol...
Same here. I stay away from guitars under $500 now, which is still sort of low priced, but I found they are a lot better after a certain price point. Or at least less hit or miss. $500 seems to be that price point (for me). Just my 2c. Have a good one :)
@@raytorvalds3699 Yes that is my price range as well. As a mere hobbyist, my limit if $500 to about $1500 tops and I try my best to buy used. The only guitar I have owned which was about $300 at the time and was perfect in every sense was the Squier Clissic Vide 50s Telecaster! GREAT GUITAR for the price even now! Cheers!
Amazon has some quality control issues reselling returned items. Twice I have bought sets of Fender pickups from Amazon expecting new sealed product and both times the pickups were not Fender. It seems like the original purchasers installed the real pickups and returned their cheap import pickups. Everything about them were wrong, the connecting wires, the base plate, a couple neck pickups even had ceramic magnets. No case or packaging, mounting screws and springs missing. A complete disgrace. Lucky I am experienced enough to spot fakes but what about a young person who is trying to upgrade their first guitar? They would have been cheated.
I also got one of those returned LJ Teles ordered from Amazon. It was obvious. I think this is an LJ issue more than an Amazon issue since I’ve never experienced with any other guitars I’ve ordered from them.
@@hankhenley yeah you may be right. However in my case, the seller wasn't LJ, it was some other supplier, so maybe it was them🤔 Anyway I sent it back and ordered a blue one... 1. To make sure I don't get the same one I just sent back, and 2. To see if the QC is the same or better... 😀
Just wanted to mention the toploader thing. I swapped guitars at one point to get myself a Tele. Turned out to be a toploader MIJ 1989. It needed some tlc so it got some nice treatment A set of DiMarzio Area T pickups new bridge had yada yada.. My go to guitar for 10 years now… anyway Fender made em like that in 59. I think you could get both configurations.
I bought an Indio cheap guitar from Amazon. It came to me in a box that had many tears taped up on on it and the box was still falling apart. Obviously shipped at least a couple of times testified to by the three different types of tape trying to hold it together. The thing was setup nicely, intonation good, truss rod adjusted, frets were nicely done. When I plugged it in the sound was unworldly awful at any setting. Not really notes. I sent it back. I'm sure it had many miles on it in the back of a van.
Hey J, I saw on Phil McKnight's channel that a company called World Music Supply is blowing out Diamond guitars apparently started by Dean guitars for ridiculously cheap prices. They look pretty nice and ship to Canada, some of the models are at $150 down from $699 or so and may be something interesting to check out. Take care bud
Who orders guitars online? Maybe its just me but I want to hold one and play it a little and not noodle or shred but definately wanna hear how it sounds up and down every note on the fretboard. I can look over blemishes on cheaper guitars but not cracks anywhere.
@@daveweed2765 yeah I hear ya... I order online because it's cheaper, there's no variety here in PEI, there is no risk (full money back returns are easy) and I do all of my own work. But like this one, sometimes I'll get one that I feel is not worth the effort or the money to fix...
Seems like Leo games and westcreek has some quality issues. I saw inconsistent fret length up and down the neck on an expensive mysoon series on scar my guitars channel. Are these guitars all coming out of the same factory? Can't wait to see the black Friday deals.

@@gmac1451 Good to know. I don't like these pickups anyway so I'd change them. Don't care if they're dead so long as the neck and body are good 👍. My replacement is coming in on Tuesday!
Leo Jaymz shipped me a warped neck on their 🇺🇸 flag Les Paul. Since the 30 days passed Leo Jaymz ignored all 4 of my messages. Buy Leo Jaymz at your own risk! 💩
I would return it as well. Too many issues regardless of the price. Wait for the sales and grab something else that might interest you. I have received many items from amazon that should have not been resold, and were already opened and used! Not just guitars either! They do it all too often!
You got to actually speak to a guy at Amazon? That is some kind of miracle, please make a video on how you did it.................................................
PERSONAL OPINION: Given both the specs and the issues you found, I think I would return it and get something else, maybe a Monoprice Indio Retro. However, if you do plan to order a new Leo Jaymz one, then I say get it direct from Leo Jaymz, and go for the transparent blue burst instead of the honey burst, because I agree that the honey burst color just doesn’t look very good. I wish Firefly still had the FFTL, and that they shipped to Canada!
@ Sounds like a good strategy! If it seems like a guitar with potential, then this might be a good way to go. I wonder if Musi will ever return… It’s really a shame they seem to have disappeared, because they made some of the all time best Telecaster clones out there, both in terms of specs and in terms of fit and finish! The last batch of Firefly FFTLs were very similar to Musi, making me wonder if they both came from the same factory in China that closed down. I sometimes think I should have bought one of their Rosewood Teles while they had them, even though they weighed about 10 pounds. I don’t like guitars that heavy, but boy did they look gorgeous!
@@j-man9457Good news: Firefly has new Telecasters in stock now, including a cheap Rosewood Telecaster! From what I hear, they’re super heavy, around 10 pounds, but they look and sound GORGEOUS!
