After watching this glorious episode, here’s what keeps playing in my mind: Picture it, Chicago, present time, lines of cross stitchers with WIPs in bags waiting for their audience with her majesty, Brenda The Sampler Maker. She is adorned in a flowing cape designed with silk threads and sampler motifs. She radiates royalty. She kindly, but with a discerning eye, looks at each WIP one by one and gives Marching Orders. She has PROPERLY trained her second in line, Laura, The Serial Starter, to carefully, but correctly fold the pieces to place back into each project bag, or god forbid, a plastic storage bag. (Laura’s cape is also regal, if a bit unfinished in). Each cross stitcher in turn goes back to their own stitchy spot to fulfill the edict of their queen. The end. Love you guys.
And this comment is now Pinned to the top of all of the comments because it tickled our fancies!!!!! Sarah....let's make this dream come true someday!!!!!
Laura, I’m SO happy that you liked my “Marching Orders Maynia” idea! I loved seeing all of your beautiful projects and Brenda, of course, made excellent choices for your Marching Orders! What an amazing hobby we have…it’s SO fun! Happy Stitching and Happy Maynia everybody! Kim from California.
Thank you so so much Kim!!!!!! Your brilliant idea really spoke to me and I am so excited!!!! This might be life changing!!!! I appreciate your help very much!

Your skin is just glowing and you are looking so healthy and gorgeous. I am so happy for you!! Keep up the good work ladies. And thank you for sharing your stitching journey with the rest of us. I love being able to watch you and listen while I am stitching.
Enjoyed stitching while watching you both. Laura I love your marching orders. You will do great. Brenda, your smalls are beautiful. Have a great 2 weeks.
I can relate to the too tired to stitch on a Friday night. I don't get off until 7:30 pm and our Fridays are crazy busy. Plus, I miss stitch club at my LNS. Major bummer. :( Laura, I feel your pain and how tired you are. Brenda, the Caroline Amelia Fromwell finish is amazing! I cannot wait to see what frame you choose for it. Beautiful stitching. What fun you two have!
Oh Laura! you did make me giggle - you should never confuse Guernsey and Jersey - I was born in Guernsey and the football rivalry between the 2 islands is legendary! As you are both so wonderful, you are forgiven - thanks for another fab UA-cam - these last few months, you are all that keeps me going xxxx
Thank you Kelly!!!! I better do some geographical and socio-cultural research!!!!! We are sending you a big hug and hope that you find other things in addition to us to keep you going! Hope you are stitching a lot!!!

Love your marching orders Laura😀. I can’t wait to see your end of May video! Brenda, thanks for showing us some of your previous stitches. It’s so great to see how you have had some of them finished. You are helping us to think outside of the box - in addition to your stash enhancement enabling. Love watching your videos. Thank you both for sharing so much with us.❤️
Loved your flosstube, thank you again for all you both do. Very inspired by your sensible and skilled approach to getting Laura on a successful finishing roll - she is sure to achieve at least some with your great advice. I am sure we should all assess our wips with the same levelheaded approach.😉 Laura I loved your suggestion of The Little House Needleworks piece being a great piece for an exchange. Would love it if you could both do a feature floss tube one day of ideas for exchange pieces. I have my first retreat later this year and we have a secret stitch exchange (max 100 x 100 stitches) It would be lovely to see more ones you have received/ done for others and any really unusual ones - it's always nice to be a bit unique but also make something really special🥰💖
Had to stop and go order Ann Kirby. Laura you love March Orders and combining it with Maynia was perfect. Brenda, I love the idea of adding smalls. I am not working on any smalls so after this video I will start to kit some up to work on this summer up at my camp. This was another great video ladies.
Hi again ladies! Guernsey is my favourite place in all the world! My brother and niece live there so I visit every year. Laura, your sampler is definitely A Guernsey Girl.....Jersey is one of the other Channel Islands and there is a friendly rivalry between them. I must stitch this sweet sampler now! Thanks for another wonderful Flosstube 😘♥️
I just wanted to tell you two how much I appreciate your flosstube. My mom loves to stitch and she watches you every two weeks. Mom is starting to have memory issues but she can remember anything said in a flosstube of yours. They live in Alabama and I live in Georgia. One visit to my house Mom turned you guys on and I watched with her. And we had the best time and best discussions. Well now I follow too. I watch from Georgia. She watches from Alabama and then Monday nights we have a the best time talking about "Brenda and the Serial Starter". It's awesome getting to share things she loves and it's like having Mom before she was having troubles. I just wanted to say thanks. PS - I got her a Ukraine Project bag and some ducks! Y'all are the best and thank you. Signed the only son of another serial starter (except she's also quilter...Poor Dad. Two staches and two piles of WIPS).
Oh Bill!!!!!! Your comment touches our hearts so much!!!!! Would you tell us your Mom's name so we can say a special hello to her next time?? We sure would like to give her a big hug, but this will have to do! That is great that you got her a project bag and ducks!!!! Hugs to you!!!!!

Thanks Patti!!! Jimmie Johnson is very inspiring as an Indy Car driver and he is going to be in the Indy 500 this year so perhaps that will entice you to watch?
Fabulous visit especially as this visit has lasted all day with the interruptions, just little things, but I’ve kept coming back.☺️ Laura tempted to follow you with WIP’s this month even though I started Let Love Reign by Teresa Kogut. Brenda I love your ideas for stitching and a stitching display. Blessings and happy stitching.
I love the idea of Marching Orders Maynia. I'm sitting it out this year because of coursework commitments, but I'll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines!! I have to admit that I went and adopted more ducks after Emily's videos.. some of the prizes are absolutely amazing!
Fun video.I always enjoy seeing what you are up to. I am excited for putting together my Stitch Maynia things to stitch on. Can’t wait to see your finishes in your next floss tube.🙂
After watching this amazing episode I hunted for Anna Thies sampler for quite a while, finally found it by buying the magazine, only draw back is that I have to wait until July when my son and family come to visit from America ( I live in the Uk). My husband thinks I watch too many floss tubes that “enable” me, I personally think he’s talking rubbish! Thanks for taking the time to film do so enjoy your videos. Liz T.
Thank you Liz!!!!!!!! Sorry you have to wait until July!!!! Maybe they could scan and send you a PDF or at least give you the floss list so you can start gathering. Please tell George that there is no such thing as watching too many floss tubes! It makes us so happy!
Great flosstube! How fun that Laura is doing “marching orders maynia”! Good for you! It’s opposite of what other people are doing..having a new start every single day!😮 So instead of starting a bunch of stuff, you’ll be finishing a bunch of stuff! Wooohooo!👍🏼
Brenda, love the compendium. Anna, from Stitch Roadies, showed hers..very similar in composition to yours, so maybe the same maker. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but in different fabrics to yours. Love everything you tackle..Laura included! Xx🇦🇺
Good girl Laura for sticking to your goals!!! Love the May Marching Orders!! I’m voting for you!!! Brenda my grandparents lived on Silver Lake across from MIS, where I spent a lot of time!! There address was Cement City and my great grandmother lived in Jackson!!! I was raised in Union City not far from there!! I also have a clock similar to yours in your floss tube that I got in Michigan!!! You bring back memories of yesteryear!!
Wow, that Kim from California had a great idea! Can’t wait to see how you progress with the “marching” orders 😃Thanks again for all that you do for the stitching community
I need a Brenda to give me stitching orders 🥰! Loved seeing all the inspiring charts - I now have Anna Theis Sampler written down now as a chart of interest - that kitty cat is adorable - thanks Laura! Have a great week ladies!
You two are so fun to watch! I think I’ve told you that I don’t even cross stitch!😂 When I came across Flosstube (specifically your flosstube) I was so inspired and went out immediately and bought all the things with great intentions to stitch all the things! Well my wrist pain had other plans!👎🏼 I am still able to quilt though😊 Just recently I preformed a “marching orders” ceremony for myself to try and have some finishes!! Fingers crossed I obey my orders!!😂 LOL
OH HOW FUN WAS THIS! Marching orders for Laura are spot on!!! Brenda - you could do ALL those smalls this month! That trapper keeper with the TK fabric was 👌👌👌!!! Laura I want an IG of the longaberger basket with the matching orders in there! I am going to follow suit! I will document on IG! I TOTALLY agree about Kim Goldmans last video. It was amazing. Im in awe of her framing abilities and the volume of stitching she gets done! My husband thinks we should call her “the serial finisher”!!! However Laura - YOU are his FAVORITE! He always asks what you are starting!!! Thanks for all the fun! See you on IG!
Thank you Rene!!!!! Please tell your husband hello!! I am honored that he watches us! I am continuing with my marching orders but I have not put everything cutely in a Longaberger yet.....my cats keep jumping in the empty basket! What is your IG name?? Please tag me in the post you make so I can make sure to see yours!
I was in the Scattered Seed Samplers club last year and we received 4 different projects over the year. I have one of Debbie's Stitching portfolios i purchased about a year ago and I just love it. So fun to see all the projects that Laura is going to be working on.
Ladies, you are just delightful! I don't know how you popped up on my playlist, but I really enjoyed spending my lunch break with y'all today! Enjoyed your beautiful stitched pieces ❤️
Thanks for the heads up on Elizabeth Clark. I have this pattern but was totally thrown by the cover photo. Will definitely add to my pile of things to be kitted up. Looking forward to Finish Maynia! Might be the new thing!
I have enjoyed watching you both and just love all of your stitching that you do. I am new to cross-stitch so seeing what you do is so amazing! I have quilted for many years and have collected cross-stitch from estate sales and other vintage sales. I recently started a UA-cam channel called Pig Tail Quilting & Stitching. It is about decorating with quilts and organizing fabric. Thank you for all the inspiration you both give to a new stitcher!
Ooh Marching Orders Maynia - I love it!!! I can’t wait to see some finishes, Laura! You both had great finishes this week - all those small pincushions are so cute! Happy Mother’s Day and have a wonderful couple of weeks.

Thank you for sharing with us today! I was an attendee of Quilters Station retreat & it was GREAT!!! 4 wonderful designers sharing their talent with us, and all that Quilters Station staff did to welcome us & take care of us & of course seeing everyone & stitching & chatting! Oh my!!! The hotel also did a fabulous job even when storms caused a power outage. Laura, I can't wait to see your progress on your marching orders & Brenda your progress on your sampler. I wish I was brave enough to bake floss!
Hi ladies!! Laura, my shirts super big too! Brenda, my dad was a dirt track racer. I grew up with race track dirt under my nails! and Kyle Larson is from my home town! We had some great celebrations last year!!
What fun Laura having Brenda pick projects for you to work during May. Looking forward to seeing your progress on them. Yesterday was my 60th birthday. It was great spending my afternoon stitching while watching your video.
Good luck with your marching orders, Laura. Boy, we all could use some marching orders from time to time. I can't wait to see how much you accomplish. I'm sure you will have many finishes! Happy Mother's Day and Happy Stitching, everyone!!! 😊
What a fabulous idea!!! Marching Order Maynia!! Boy, do I need someone to give me some marching orders LOL. Left to my own devices, I'm getting little done. Love you ladies!! Hugs from NE Ohio.
I have to laugh at Brenda's reaction when Laura just stuffs the fabric and floss in an bag. I need someone to help me decide what to finish stitching but I don't have that many. Thank you for sharing your time with us.
Thanks girls for sharing your plans for May. I think you’re gonna need more project bags! Love how you both inspire each other. I have so many wips that last Sunday the floor in my sunroom was covered in inspiration. I only found two or three I might not finish! Great ideas and show and tell today/.

Well my wrist pain had other plans!👎🏼 I am still able to quilt though😊 Just recently I preformed a “marching orders” ceremony for myself to try and have some finishes!! Fingers crossed I obey my orders!!😂 LOL
Booooo!!! on the wrist pain!!! Maybe it will get better so you can stitch??? In the meantime, keep on quilting and working on those WIPS!!!! Hugs!!!
❤️
Can't wait to see all the progress on your Mania projects!
Thank you Joy!
What a great video y’all! Marching Orders Maynia is brilliant and was so much fun to see all the stuff! I am looking forward to the end of May now!
Thank you Penny!!!!!!!!!
Fabulous as always ladies. I can’t wait to see how Laura gets on with her marching order stitching 💕
Thanks Kath!!!

Thank you and welcome to the world of stitching!!!!!! We shall try to go watch your video ASAP!!!!!
