You have actually just reinforced my resolve to get a professional to reupholster my antique chair. That looks hard and scary!! The chair looks great, good job!
Just amazing! The fabric choices, skill and detail are awesome. I didn't know you could do it like that at 1:39, I thought you had to remove the wood or something.
I want to learn how to do this! There are chairs I've seen in thrift stores that I've wanted... only if I knew how to reupholster them. I can do the simple stuff but the diamond button tufting is something I want to learn. I'm not sure how to accurately do my measurements.
Nice work. If you dont mind me asking, how much does upholstering with materials cost you? Buying the chair at a store is always in the thousands. I'd like to know the cost savings. I really want to learn how to reupholster tufted furniture. Thanks.
I. Have a chair smaller than this , the same style & shape , I call somebody to reupholster it & asked how many yards of material I need to buy some places told me 8 or 9 yards , other place told me 4 yrds & other 12 yrds Can u tell me how many yards I need to reupholster it please , it's a little bit smaller than this one
Maria Garza just did a chair like that one I used 7 yards cause of the tufting. you may have some material left over . I like to have alittle extra just in case you make a bad cut or something. Hope that helps
You've posted a most lovely item. I own a few from the same period. This is an example of great taste. Thank you for sharing it.
What a beautiful piece !!!!! Even before the Re-upholstering......
I totally agree. These are amazing pieces of furniture from a wonderful era.
Love the color! It's gorgeous!
nicely done! I'm going to have to start posting videos out of my shop. I do several of these a month.
I enjoy all your videos. I am trying to learn to do upholstery for my own enjoyment. This one looks like it can be tricky. Very beautifully done.
Beautifully done! Thank you!

wow! Beautiful!
Thank you very much. Silk can be a challenge but the results are worth it!
Good point! A darker wood might have made for a nicer contrast. Thanks for the comment.
@kbs1212 The trim that's used to cover the staples is hot glued into place
I'm going to try this.

The chair is beautiful but I was looking for instructions and you didn’t teach me anything. Good job on the chair however. Very nice.
I think the wood needed a darker finish. However your labour paid off and the final product is amazing .
What type of fabric did you use to reupholster?
@ALICEPIN I used a "round point" long upholstery needle
