I absolutely love your “ruthlessly” creative approach to making decks work for you! “It’s mine now, I can do what I want with it” - remove cards, combine and split decks, chop bits off and trim. The fact I don’t like the artwork in these particular decks, is irrelevant. It’s the approach that matters. I’m learning so much here. Thank you!
Thank you so much and I am so glad that was your main takeaway because that's always the underlying message of these types of videos. It's your tool now, make it work for you. 🙂 Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment. ❤️
Cheryl also has another deck that does match , so that you can place or mix together.Transcendent Journey's Oracle , done in 2020. Sort of on its own. My first deck that I purchased by Cheryl , was : Art through the Eyes of the Soul oracle. 2011. I got from Barnes & Nobles.I didn't work with it as an oracle till years later .Lol Then one day I was working with a tarot deck and was lead to use the Eyes of the Soul. I received a beautiful reading for my inner journey. So I researched and found Cheryl ' s Newer deck , Art through the Starstream oracle. ( the sister deck ) to Eyes of the Soul deck. I often mix the two in readings as they are the exact same size. The art on the back of the cards are different. Transcendent , is sort of the side note oracle. Also U.S. games , published the Starstream Oracle deck. I hope this is helpful.
I really wish, after adding her Mystique of Magdalene oracle to my collection, that she would create an Avalon deck. I love her artwork, but the crazy border situation would drive me crazy trying to make my own avalonian deck from these two.
I've had the through the eyes of the soul deck for years and years. My copy is long and skinny with huge gold borders. I think the copyright on the deck is 2011. This is the second video I've seen in the past couple months showcasing this deck. I couldn't resonate with mine back when I got it 10 years ago but maybe I should get it out and work with it again.
My guidebook seems to talk more about each of the paintings and it lists the year of the painting with a very small expanded message on the eyes through the soul deck.
Dawn Michelle, did you read in _Magdalene Mysteries_ that many believe that she was Yeshua's financial backer and that her name means "Watchtower"? Have you seen Joaquin Phoenix with his Twin Flame Rooney Mara in the eponymous film? I love that she is ever the Illuminatrix (see William Henry's books and talks on Gaia).
This was really helpful Dawn - thank u - especially when you separated the imagery out. I only have the star stream oracle but I have wanted the through the eyes of the soul for years. Not in a rush but I do love the art 💜 and the creator is local to Glastonbury so it's always so tempting to get this deck whenever I visit Glastonbury 😊 Thanks for sharing 🙏
The star streak deck was the first one I saw and I'm kicking myself for not getting it when it was in print. But these are lovely decks too and I'm looking forward to getting to know them. Thank you for watching. ❤️
I am all for putting them together. I felt it was okay they were a little different. I have joined two Stacey Demarco decks and although they have different backs and are slightly differen sizing on the courners, they are magic together. I also like Ecletic styles so differences dont bother me :)
I have all of her decks and was planning to combine the Art Through the Starstream Oracle and Through the Eyes of the Soul (both glossy). But then her next deck came out matte and Through the Eyes of the Soul was reprinted in matte! So I've been at a standstill as to what to do with them. In the meantime, I have occasionally pulled them out to pair with the Dreams of Gaia - glossy oracles paired with original Dreams of Gaia and matte with mini matte Dreams of Gaia. And they go pretty well with Druidcraft Tarot, Green Witch Tarot and Earth Wisdom oracle. Thanks for this video! I've definitely gotten some ideas, like maybe separating them into suits and trying them out that way - of course having two decks, one glossy and one matte. Also ... I Really want to trim that dang border! 🧐🙄😛
I do like the new matte cardstock but it is really frustrating when things change and you want to combine decks. Still fun to play with though! Thank you for watching. ❤️
I really like the Eyes of the Soul Oracle, I have worked with it a few times. Not so sure about the other deck. Definitely a few different themes for sure. Thank you for sharing. 💖
Did you see she has a Mary Magdalene deck coming out this summer? There are some images on both the Blue Angel and Llewellyn site and it looks gorgeous. I'm hoping it sticks to the one theme because I got the earlier edition of her first one and found it a bit too eclectic overall for me. Some of her art is just stunning.... camo pants aside!
Oh no, I didn't see that but I'll for sure have to check that out! I still haven't found a Magdalene deck where I really like the artwork, maybe that will be it. Exciting! Thank you for letting me know and for watching. ❤️
I love her decks I really do. So interesting watching you play with them. I tracked down the old version of through the eyes of the soul for Christmas as I wanted the bordered version that’s thin and long. Can’t wait to hear how you get on with them 💙
I might have to do the same because the borders really add an ornate beauty that is missing from the borderless edition. But it'll be fun to play with these ones to start. Thank you for watching. ❤️
I'm not sure about these. I do like (most of) the artwork. And I do like 'eclectic' decks that have different aspects and themes. And I'd be totally fine with Avalon + Christian + Starseed + Viking + Native America... BUT there's so much Avalon/Celtic stuff in it (what I also love). It's just not *mixed* enough for me, not *balanced* enough between the themes. I'd love an eclectic deck and/or and celtic deck, but the way they are, they're not for me.
Yeah that was a little bit of my issue too. I don't mind an eclectic deck(s) but most of the cards are definitely in that single realm. In that way, like you said, it really does lack balance. Thank you for watching. ❤️
She’s actually releasing a whole deck dedicated to mary this year. Check blueangel’s website. She used to be published by USgames and the decks used to be longer. Really cool and I adore the mishmash of energies.
I don't do it tarot because for me that has a system that I want to honor and work with, but oracle is fair game. 🙂 I've "curated" alot of my oracles decks, sometimes I even put multiple decks together. Kinda like making my own. Thank you for watching. ❤️
This deck (through the eyes of the soul) was downgraded in my opinion. I have the original and it's much more beautiful with lovely lettering and a bit more elaborate meaning. I also think there are a few more or different cards. Also, because it has ornate gold borders it feels more coherent. I loved what you tried to do here though. Work with what you've got and see if you can distil good deck out of it. Would like to see them modified if such is possible.
Ooh actually, I think the borders on the older edition are really wonderful. (Just looked that up.) It really gives an ornate feeling to the deck that is missing from the new borderless edition. I might do a mod on them, we'll see how it all comes together. Thank you for watching. ❤️
I know this artist is very talented. I just don't like the decks. I own 1000 - roughly ;) Celtic decks & they are my favourite theme along with trees/plants (which often overlap). This artist lives or was raised in Glastonbury which of course is the heart of Avalon. I have tried but this style is just not me. Good luck with your curating & no doubt modding =)
These decks read fantastically.
I'm looking forward to getting to know them. Thank you for watching. ❤️

They were not meant to be split! If only people would read the book....

The Starstream Oracle deck , published in 2014 , U. S. Games.
Thank you so much, the Starstream one is one I've been on the lookout for. Thank you for watching. ❤️
Thank you Lavender Angel. They are ALL authentic based on visions in sacred sites.
Camo-Pants and Flower-Lady 🤣🤣🤣
I can't stop laughing about dude in the camo pants LOLOL
Read the book!

OH man the border thing must have been so frustrating! :( I don't understand bordered backs on non-bordered cards... Whyyyyyyyy
I have no idea, I have wonder at the designers who put the final products together! Thank you for watching. ❤️

I wonder why they cut it back. That's interesting.

@@DawnMichelleTarot Definitely! It hints quite a bit at their relationship. :) (But it could have gone further with that imo.)

I get the frustration, wanted to combine the deep place with her new Kickstarter but the new one's bigger. **Sigh**
That's a bummer. I've had that happen with a couple of different decks too. Thank you for watching. ❤️
I don't have a kickstarter!!! ???

THANK YOU! These decks were NOT Marys etc. But Neo - mythic - if only people would take the time to read the books before Judging!!!!!
Maybe not a 3 card spread hahaha
I don't like the lack of cohesion to these decks.
I love that you just remove cards that don't resonate with you. I've never considered doing that.
