I hope Renard is revealled to be a morally grey character, rather than a straight forward villian. He's clearly ruthless and willing to kill for his ends, but if his ends are keeping the peace between human and Wesen in his canton and keeping his family at bay, he could still be an ally for Nick. I'd prefer an uneasy alliance to them going directly head to head. I think watching them work together, despite their issues, would be more fun to watch.
