- During a private supercar event held in Switzerland, I have filmed a beautiful looking green Porsche 918 Spyder in action on the drag strip, racing against other hypercars like the Pagani Huayra, the Bugatti Chiron and the Bugatti Veyron!

I can't believe the 918 has essentially dropped off the radar when it was such a quantum leap at the time. It is STILL ridiculous today. With a sub 7-minute lap at the Nurburgring and some ratings companies clocking it's 0-60 as low a 2.2 seconds when it was released 7 years ago, those are stats that still crush most supercars. The Chiron will eventually catch it down the road, but that was the only car even remotely close off the line. Plus, it looks cool as shit and apparently it's very easy to drive day to day.

From what I've heard great on the original tires, but they had reliability issues and the replacement tires made it unpredicteable.

The 918 Spyder is truly worth it. I see it appreciating eventually. Not a lot of cars can beat this beast. And the cars that can beat it are a lot newer. Crazy how this car is from 2013 and still its almost unbeatable

The 918 is as technologically advanced as the 959 was head & shoulders above its Competition at the time .. the 918 is a hyper car that can be used as a daily ... no other hyper car can say that .. it’s truly insane

A man who owns a large estate near my home owns a buttload of exotics including a 918 Spyder and I honestly feel kinda privileged just to have seen (felt and oh boy … heard) one of these in person. Once I see some blue/green exhaust flames on a dark night … I’ll die happy.

The actual 918 vs. Chiron drag was a mere footnote to the otherwise glorious hypercar drive in the Swiss Alps. Loved it!
This is probably the 10th time I have seen these clips on this channel, not complaining tho!
I'm complaining that there is no finish line camera angles, or slow mo clips to see who won from the front.

@@0WhyNot3 That's all fine and dandy. But the instance you decide to race them, against each other, you know people want to see who won. The showing off is grand. But, racing them is about, who won.
@@kireality As you can tell by watching these videos, you can clearly tell that those with more expensive cars don't know how drag racing and stepping on the gas peddle works. Therefore it would be kind of worthless knowing who won. A guy with for example a Huracan performance could win against someone with a Chiron just because he dares to step on the throttle and knows the limits of his car. The guy with the hypercar is just there to stretch his legs.
@@0WhyNot3 You want to get into the breakdown and semantics over how the cars are seen by their owners? Some less experienced than others as drivers. But, the thing you miss is that the owners/drivers decided to race the cars to sort of "see what they were working with." So, during these races be it for fun, or dick measuring, they know who won since they are in the cars driving them. Why can't we the public be offered the same courtesy?

I can agree, its in my top 3 of all time. If I was lucky enough to ever own one I would take those 2 pieces of the back though, that's honestly the only thing I, I think the rear is drop dead gorgeous and far more clean looking when some 918 owners take those off.

I don't know how you can love that, it even seems an old diesel truck, it's loud but the melody is awful.
And in my opinion that's probably the only downside of koenigseggs, because they have a wonderful design (except the gemera that is hideous), especially the older ones, with clean lines and almost perfect proportions

The 918 can only defeat the veyron by half the car length there is even a video of the race just type in veyron vs 918 plus in this video the flaggers eat ass plus the 918 had an head start against the chiron so I cant understand why people struggle to say that the 918 does defeat the veyron by much and it dosent defeat the chiron is it soo hard to say?

come on man obviously he was just a spectator and recorded, and didnt go through getting a team, and coordinating with organisers and setting up angles and employing camera men etc. go look up the meet, maybe a production company covered it with multiple cameras and angles etc.

Yeah, low hp compared to them and only rwd, it is more like art instead of actual speed. The 918 is an absolute beast but it is pretty depressing when you have something like a huayra and a pleb awd lambo will beat you.
