Thanks for the photo/video functionality review! The only thing that concerned me is with a couple of the later videos. Is there OIS for the videos? When you were walking, the videos looked like they were glitching (slightly blurry in some areas then clear again). Update to add that the glitching appears in the Nighttime Videos.
It's a decent camera taking photos in the daytime. Lowlight / night video recording is really bad. There was also some sort of flickering in the video while the phone was just stationary. I'm sure if Motorola would've nailed the camera the 40 ultra would sell like hotcakes.
I was going to get the pixel fold but didn't like the shipping times. That kinda told me Google didn't have faith that it will sell and didn't make many at all. It's a good time for me to check out Moto again as they do build tanks of phones.
The Pixel Fold and the Razr+ are two completely differeny types of phones. They're nottt comperable in any way, besides the fact that thye have folding displays.
Great video! I appreciate that you spoke in simple and understandable terms, which is an excellent quality for your videos, and I’ll be checking into your videos in the future for sure!✔️
Just ordered one. I think the cameras are good enough. I especially like using the outer screen for selfies and videos. It's amazing. Although the pixels are not the highest, the images do come out bright enough. The 4k /30 videos do look a bit laggish lol. The selfie cam is actually quite good. Even the video you took looks pretty good. Have you turned on screen light when you were recording the video in the evening?
The 12MP looks solid. The ultrawide struggles in low light and is sometimes overexposed with soft images. Bit disheartening. Seems buying this phone is buying a so-so camera system. Hopefully one day flip phones will atleast match the cameras of 1-2 yr old flagships. This one seems like you're going years in the past.
Wish it had better camera. Im indoors and take photos of tattoos, since its hard to find footage of people actually taking pictures of "art" indoors, its hard to know if this camera is what I need. The rest is what I want, but the camera is for work-relations, and I dislike having 2 phones. Also, not a fan of bloatware so Samsung and iPhone is not for me, besides iPhone is too locked for my taste. My thoughts goes to Google Pixel 7 Pro, but then again, its not small, something that I want. Uugh. So hard to get what you want: Small phone, pro features, good camera, fast internet.
There's some weird flickering during some video spots. Not sure if it's the camera or actual lighting in the area. You did a lot of good views and it seems to have decent low light capability. But my personal interest is more related to recording my kiddo on stage, and pictures of sunsets and moonscapes. Does it actually capture vivid and accurate sky colors - reds, pinks, purples etc? Does the moon look like a glowing blob like other low quality cameras, or can you see the outline or craters? Is an image of a concert stage going to be overexposed from stage lighting, or will the camera capture vivid contrasts and faces?
Thanks for the review, I will wait for the Z Flip 5. My preferred color glacier blue is sold out anyway, thanks Motorola for making it unavailable so I got a chance to watch this video
Ya we need another zoom lens Feels so incomplete. Sacrificing top spec lens for flip and use of cover screen for selfie is nice. 11:10 hopeful they fix it in software side ? 😭
So after seeing this laggy blurry night recording we need to see the comparison with flip z5, as while doing camera test on flip z4(and they apparently are the same in both z4 and z5) you didn't really do same kind of night videos with the comparable dynamics. Please
Ive had mine since release date (june) in the Uk Lovely phone, great camera, but 4k motion stabilisation is poor. This night time video makes it look even worse!! looks like video from something 10 years ago. Im putting up with it, i Guess, however this video was useful and prevented me ditching it 4 months in. I must say the camera photos are on par with my last phone, google pixel pro 7 , very good with loads of options. I prefer the camera options on motorola as well. However I do miss the smooth 4k video on that. However , I much prefer a flip to a slab.
Sadly it looks really bad IMO Very washed out photos, night mode really bad and resolution in videos simply isn't there. There is a lot of work to be done on the camera department 😔

I definitely noticed that too. Nothing a wonderful update can't fix.
Is there an update yet? That was the only concern thing for me 😕😕

Thanks that helps a lot, this saved me time and cake. I was thinking about this a 2nd phone but that cam is a deal breaker.

Why you say that 😢
The camera and video looks great 👍 I'm definitely gonna get the razor from Motorola ❤

great chill lofi music 👍
This is a very nice, well done video - except for the music which gets irritating and distracting very quickly.

How's the shutter speed? Samsung's cameras are prone to slow shutter speeds, leading to blurry photos taken indoors with my kids.
Thanks for the review
That crease is going to crack if you keep flipping it open like it's the original RAZR 😂
Agree...the fast jerking motion and snap to close the phone is, I have to think, going to shorten the life of that phone considerably.
Thanks for the review, I will wait for the Z Flip 5. My preferred color glacier blue is sold out anyway, thanks Motorola for making it unavailable so I got a chance to watch this video
Great review!!
Does the flash work when taking a selfie when using the external display when folded
Yes
Ya we need another zoom lens
Feels so incomplete.
Sacrificing top spec lens for flip and use of cover screen for selfie is nice.

How long is the shuttle to take those night shot? Does the shuttle lags?
I was thinking about getting this phone as a secondary, but the camera is disappointing.
Why not test camera in social media apps?
I just want to know does this razr pixelate the selfie pictures? Cause I have that problem with iPhone right now
A very beautiful phone. Good job Motorola

What about RAW photo and HDR video ?
I think the camera on this phone is good. Waiting for comparison with other camera phones
I got one it's not so good this Motorola camera sucks
Wait. Did you delete and re-upload this like 24 hours later? This is the 2nd time you've done this. Both with THIS PHONE. WHY???
Who cares
Disclosures please.
Nice phone but with a mediocre camera and no zoom is a deal breaker for me
I like this phone, But honestly the low light recording is really bad
I dont know what to do
Get the razr or wait for the flip 5

Motorola is from which country?
Low light photos and videos look really bad
Terrible stabilization , blurry as well ,while u were recorded it ..pictures are ok … not good enough …
Now we wait for Google's take on a flip phone. Damn you Google, your camera pix have ruined every other Android phone's pics for me.
If you stop comparing it with other phones, it's a pretty great camera 😊
Same with life.
Garbage cameras at night. Software could fix it but WHEN is the question…and why launch the phone like that.
Didn't you used to do High Tech Traveller back in the day?
That was a lifetime ago.
really wishing this phone had a decent camera at least
Cam quality is too poor
So basically the camera is crap
Sadly it looks really bad IMO
Very washed out photos, night mode really bad and resolution in videos simply isn't there.
There is a lot of work to be done on the camera department 😔
