Such a beautiful reaction to a beautiful lady showing off her beautiful voice. She's been a favourite in Australia for decades. Whatever credit she gets, it's not enough.
This is so cool, never knew she did a cover of farneys arrangement, she so amazing what an awesome tap of the hat by one legend to another. Such a massive loss, beautiful, inspiring, unique voice and what a life. R.I.P Queen Tina 💜🙏💜
John's was a reimagining of the Beatles original. Tina's is a cover/copy of John's version, the pace, phrasing, sax solo, the works. Says a lot about John!
@@tangledfish Absolutely. It's a rare thing to take an iconic song and rearrange it to make it better. Help is one such example. The other two for me are Johnny Cash's Hurt and Kasey Chambers' Lose Yourself.
Tina is the best female performer I ever saw . She has a version of help she did in 1985 Private Dancer Tour which was just incredible you want to see that it's much better.
John Farnham's backing vocalist, Venetta Field was an Ikette (backing vocalist/dancer) for Ike and Tina Turner for five years. Don't under-estimate the legendary status of Tina Turner all over the world. She may be under-appreciated in the U.S. but the rest of the world knows she's a Goddess, and one of a kind entertainer.
Tina.... just a treasure, an absolute treasure.... she is up there with Stevie Wonder, they just transcend everything... and I hope Americans can appreciate just how much she is loved by all across this world.
Wasn't Venetta Fields one of 'the Blackberries'? Sang backing vocals on Humble Pie's version of 'black coffee. Which was written by a certain Tina Turner. Talk about six degrees of separation.
We in Australia love Tina Turner. It's a compliment to John that she used his arrangement note for note. She knew of John through her manager Rodger Davies (an Australian). She was also a huge fan of John's, but as fine vocalist, why wouldn't she be? She also sang with Barnesy. Will the circle be unbroken.
Tina Turner is and always has been one of my all-time favorite singers . Think about it. There’s nobody who really does sound like her. You hear her, you know that it’s her for sure. The first phrase. She is unique and distinct. Her charisma is distinct, her movements on stage are distinct. Her looks. Everything about her. She’s simply the best.
Love Tina, and love this obvious tribute to John Farnham. Only Tina could belt out a version of Help like him. But Farnsey's epic version is still my favorite, he's untouchable. Tina's fabulous voice and energy are legendary. She's such an amazing performer, simply sensational.💜
Don't forget that Tina's own original back up singer, Venetta Fields, eventually found her way to John Farnham and joined him and stayed right up till her retirement.
Tina is underrated. As big of a star that she is, she really ain’t gettin’ her due in America. I hope she’s getting more recognition around the world. She deserves it.
Tina is my inspiration and empowering beautiful women with a powerful voice - the female version of Barnsy... thank God they both share their gift with the world 💜
Tina & Jimmy Barnes duet of River Deep Mountain High is fab. They were like voal twins when she was in Australia. She was here for a few months filming a Thunderdome
Tina Turner is one of the best ever!!!! Her voice was just unbelievable. I'm thinking she is in the top 3 ever. Just a unique voice. Grew up listening to her. Still have the albums.
Love that you got to see this, I love this as much as John's overall reimagining and overhaul of the entire song. Tina loved his rendition, and I can hear enough difference in her own performance that I can see this as her own take yet again on the Beatles classic
Tina has known as "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" and often has got stadiums full of crazy fans.. and she got numerous of greatest hits. So im a little confused when you said ''they never put her with the greatest
Tina's manager Roger Davies, an Australian who was no doubt aware of Farnham's version and no doubt suggested it for her. Or maybe it was John's backup singer Venetta Fields, who was originally an Ikette, passed it on to Tina? Doesn't matter really, just playing detective here haha
I wonder what the story was for her to do this version. Personally i love John’s and the Beatles but she is one of the greatest known performers and it’s wonderful to hear hers too.
TINA TURNER & Switzerland. Tina has been living in Europe for decades & has been setting up shop in Switzerland since the mid-2000s Before that, she built a dream house for herself in the south of France, which she sold to follow husband Erwin Bach to 'Zürich'. Her home is "Chateau Algonquin", a magnificent estate which sits on 'Lake Zürich' that the couple has been renting for years. Recently, they also purchased their own home nearby, paying $76 million for what they call ‘a weekend retreat’
There's a live video of John doing the fast version of Help and then going into the slow version that we all know him for. That's pretty cool as well m.ua-cam.com/video/VD5Vt6zx_to/v-deo.html
Tina is my all time Favourite Female singer. For me there is no one greater. To take a quote from Brett 'the hit man' Hart she is the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be.
Tina's "Nutbush City Limits" is played at a lot of Australian wedding receptions & birthday parties, to get people up for the choreographed dance. Is it the same in other countries?
you are very true brother, beyonce will never be beyonce without the inspiration of tina, tina was the million dollar legs during our time in the 70's 80's
Tina is a great singer but John owns this song. No-one can do it better. I agree with you, I hear John's voice whenever anyone sings this version, no matter how good they are.
Tina is the real deal...Beyonce doesn't do anything for me. Tina is the Queen...along with Etta and Ester Phillips. But yes You can hear John's voice through this...and that's unusual considering we're talking about the one and only Tina.
😆😁 yes Charlie. It’s Tina’s cover of John’s rearrangement of the Beatles song. I would think most people watching Nicks channel would be across this. 😏
Sorry guys but tina did the cover first 1987 concert in birmingham england and its on her private dancer album ...john copied her version just getting the facts straight 🙏
Thanks alan and mani....it was probably roger davies whose her manager and australian that would have suggested it for her...thanks for educating me boys 😊🙏
Such a beautiful reaction to a beautiful lady showing off her beautiful voice. She's been a favourite in Australia for decades. Whatever credit she gets, it's not enough.
Tina Turner is a Swiss native now
Tina was such a beautiful person, I loved her and Cher's friendship.
I keep waiting for John to walk out and duet with her

When Tina Turner herself loves your version so much she makes it her own, you know you've killed it for all time.

RIP beautiful lady.
Fun fact. One of John Farnham's long time backing singers, Venetta Fields, was also in The Ikettes who performed with Ike & Tina Turner in the 60s.
Also did backing vocals for Cold Chisel and Jimmy Barnes, she is an awesome singer! She is retired now.

Two great covers
We in Australia love Tina Turner.

Tina is up there to Aussies , to this day at partys, grand mothers to little kids will do the" nutbush city limits "dance, we love her .

Thank you for reacting to my video.. You're reaction was awesome.. Tina is amazing.. Would love to hear a duet between John & Tina doing this song

I agree with every word you said about Tina...she was 1 of the GOATS in women's soul, rnb music. She's brilliant live too 👏👏💜💜🙌
Tina is my inspiration and empowering beautiful women with a powerful voice - the female version of Barnsy... thank God they both share their gift with the world 💜
All the woman I am suppose to be Tina Turner
Simply the best !
Tina always amazing, my favourite song by her River Deep Mountain High.

Australia is the country that enabled her to make a comeback in the states.

I love that she stays true to this version of this song, but doesn’t copy John. She’s put her own stamp on it ❤

Original version was the Beatles. She is now a Swiss citizen. Love your page
Legend. Such a unique voice and great performer. The arrangement is the same as John's but Tina sang it her way. I hear Tina in this version.
tina runs rings around beyonce
Legend
There is one other person that could cover this and it is the link between john farham and tina turner and that is the man Jimmy barnes.
Tina is the real deal...Beyonce doesn't do anything for me. Tina is the Queen...along with Etta and Ester Phillips. But yes You can hear John's voice through this...and that's unusual considering we're talking about the one and only Tina.
Beyonce is definitely the real deal also as said Tina herself but yes I hear johns voice alot when I hear this
An amazing cover but prefer John singing this any day.
Tina's version of Help is the one I first fell in love with. Please check out her performance of Help in Rio ua-cam.com/video/DYJhgjuvAe4/v-deo.html
Does anyone realize that this is a Beatles song?
😆😁 yes Charlie.
It’s Tina’s cover of John’s rearrangement of the Beatles song.
I would think most people watching Nicks channel would be across this. 😏
Welcome to 1980 when John Farnham first release this version. Cheers 😁🎵🎼
🗣Whats Going On Nic ❓
THEME OF THE DAY - LEAGUE OF LENGENDS ‼️
Mis Tina Turner FIre 🔥 as ALWAYS ✅👏
🤜🏼🤛🏽
John is about 20 levels above this. No disrespect to Tina its good but Farnesy slaughtered with his "original" interpretation.
8 million times better than Michael Jackson. I dont get it either, she should be more celebrated
Beyoncé is Queen but Tina is the Queen Mother 😎
Tina Turner Is the Queen; even Beyonce said it herself. No demotions will be tolerated.
Sorry guys but tina did the cover first 1987 concert in birmingham england and its on her private dancer album ...john copied her version just getting the facts straight 🙏
It was on John's 1980 album "Uncovered". Tina's "Private Dancer" was released in 1984.
It was John's own arrangement which John Lennon apparently heard it before he died and really liked what John did to the song.
Thanks alan and mani....it was probably roger davies whose her manager and australian that would have suggested it for her...thanks for educating me boys 😊🙏
Uummm. No.
