In the 1970s and early 1980s I used to take the L train from Brownsville to Canarsie to bag people's groceries at the grocery store to make about $10, a day. Their were no Black people out there. It was a complete White neighborhood. It was super clean and no graffiti at all. I remember a pizza shop right next to the subway station that made excellent square pizzas. It was very racist out there but I made good tips hustling bagging groceries.
60s and 70s I attended Bildersee JHS and graduated from Canarsie HS. Talk about police escort, what a dangerous time it was for us coming out of Brownsville, eventually many of us including Italians, Irish, and Jewish students became friends,
The Pizza shop is still there owned by the same gentleman. The Pizza is still amazing. It blew my mind because I have not had it for decades and the taste is the same.
back in the 70's when I lived in east Flatbush, you was told, never go into Canarsie as a person of color.. my oh my have times changed. I'm sure there are still some that don't like the change just like when I see palm colored peoples in Harlem at night...
I remembered when Canarsie was white The infamous Rockaway parkway coming out Canarsie night school The infamous McDonald's is where Animal and his Crew would terrorize the vicinity hey Animal if you still around my brother that was some Bogus Activities Long live the Era Rest in peace Boxer and Pop smoke 💨🕊️🪖🦺😭💯🙏🏿
You were in my neighborhood today, good shit bro. Funny at the 0:31 mark the spanish guy wearing the white shirt that's my homie, right after that u cut to the part with you being down the block. That Ria store on the left is his lol
Im surprised you didnt walk thru the street where you could see women basically naked in revealing lingerie just walking around not that far from there. Politicians and the locals trying to clean it up but its not gomna happen.
This is definitely content. It's valuable. Maybe not today but in the future it will be ;) Many people in 30,50,100 years will be watching how the world was today.
