And instead of Bg4, c6 is best, preventing Nb5, and white has no compensation for the two pawns. I used to play the blackmar-diemer gamit/ryder gambit/halosar trap in years past, but have not played this line in more than 2 years.
Hey, this is me! I’m happy to bring a classic trap line to the channel, I’ll chalk it up to Anna playing about 50 games in a row before this. The next game we played was my favorite of the two! Thanks for posting
Anyone who doubts that greed is a deadly sin need only watch this game. Those pawns were yummy going down, ... and free to boot, ... but they weren't free, and they didn't taste so good when the price had to be paid. That's several bad moves in a row by black. Bad, but understandable, free pawns, greed kicks in, eat 'em, never mind the poison. I found that beautiful.
Okay it's explained, had she taken then it was check mate. In that case, since the game would be over so soon after its start, it's opening flaw on Anna's part. A few things done differently and then there'd be no trap.
If you didn't even recognise mate in that position and consider bishop takes as a move then you really shouldn't be advising or trying to explain lines.
@@David-qn9wu Thank you for your comment which hits me as well lol. In my case I did not see the check-mate until the video clarified. What a vicious opening trap for poor, unsuspecting Anna! But she took it well - she's such a great sport. And "Mega Mullet aka the Other" Mike did a great job of seeming to be a complete noob, then catching his WFM opponent in lethal prepared trap, followed by a smooth conversion.
instead of Nxb4, he missed Bb6+, followed by Qxb6+, and Qxc7#... and instead of Nc6+ (where anna resigned), Rd1+ is the fastest mate. one of the biggest upsets in coffee chess history.

Ive pulled this off online back when i was like sub 700. Its a tough trap bc most players dont hit the moves needed for it, but when they do its a very satisfying mate.
knight sacrifice check instead of fork threat brings checkmate in two....right? pawn is forced to eat the knight creating wall so when queen takes Rook check its over?
I literally learned this trap today. I'm an amateur player at best, and simply knowing the book, I could have done the same. I don't know his rating, but this is a day to remember for him.
I guess I'm with Bobby Fischer on this. Chess begins when memorization ends. Perhaps not what he said but I believe that is the sentiment. This is hardly a game of chess. A decisive advantage before two players even begin testing their chess abilities?
Hello to everyone, hope you are doing all well...I have my thoughts of 10:01 of the video if Ana could play the queen from E4 to E3...and After Maik could play his queen to A5 from A6 to protect the bishop but forcing Ana to move the queen threeat from the bishop or bringing her horse to help the queen for boomerang attack but also the white horse cab hep as well the bishop position... Anyway the white after can send their white bishop out letting the tower to put pressure to the queen...
