I actually prefer those "terrible lists", because they make for more interesting games. "Horde plus extras" might be effective, but it is boring to watch. THESE lists look like proper WHF armies, thank you very much! Also thank you for keeping WHF alive and going! Lurve ya!
Super enjoyable batrep, I think solely because it did not involve the phrase, "my standard build out," for army comp and items. I LOVE to see you guys shake up the battles with less used items and army construction. Keep experimenting this way!
i think you did the animosity on the boars wrong, but its hard to tell from the camera angle : but it was atleast described wrong : you do not "wheel and move" which allowed the boars on turn2 here to charge : you "PIVOT the unit on the spot to face the nearest visible enemy unit, then then make a full (non-march) move in a STRAIGHT line towards it" : there is no wheeling to avoid things, i think the boars would have either clipped the boys next to them, or the boar chariot ahead of them
Multiple small units made this entertaining from start to finish. Fun to watch the non-standard builds and to see some things happen that would not otherwise come up...like a big chain lightning ;)
This was a really lovely and comfy game. Honestly I think casual is always a lot more fun than 'competitive', especially with how silly maneuvers and spells in 8th get.
I dunno what you did, but do more of it. the even battle with the back and forth swings made for one of the best Battle Reports on this channel. thanks guys.
Really great Battle Report!!!! Loved the block combats and seeing the war machines really not do much. Also loved seeing different magic items come rather than the usual stuff, really added a new take on the game. Looking forward to next weeks video.
A fun batrep, although it's kind of annoying to see cullen forgetting just about every single "status" special rule when it comes to combat (his demis hitting on 3+ because of fear, all his prayers on the last combat, sometimes his stomps...). It makes me groan when it happens, especially on tight combats like these.
Animosity before charges Steve and Steve the Chariot could have been effected by other groups attacking him thru animosity. this was amazing fun to watch and man the dice made this an adventure
27:53 - Someone help me out here, I don't have the BRB near by. Wouldn't Cullen have to maximize the number of models in a multiple charge? Looks like more greatswords should be in combat, if that's the rule. 41:55 - Are you sure about the Hatred-thing when the boars charged in? 57:53 No shooting phase?
Guys, I really liked this format, with both players doing kind of a silly list. It was way more of a game, and less just stuff getting deleted off the board. Well done!
First report I've watched to the end in a long time. So good to see some proper armies and not artillary/goblin hero spam which always feels a bit off for non competitive lists. Let's see some other armies!
I thought Swiftride applied to Overruns because the book calls it a "special pursuit move" much like the parry save is a "special ward" so Warriors of Chaos with Mark of tzeench get a Dwarf-style parry.
Fun idea, nice game. I don't think all armies dependent on hordes, f.e. Dwarfs feel much safer in ranks. I'm really glad you're keeping up the content even when kick starter expired
you forgot the large target rule when shooting at the giant. im fairly sure it give a plus 1 to shooting attacks, I might be thinking of a different edition though.
I know you said these were "bad lists" due to the lack of hordes, but the game was much more enjoyable for the lack of grinding horde combat. Would love to see more of this with more "off strength" stuff. I know in the past you've done things like no lord level wizards, and I'd love to see that merged with the lots of little companies playstyle. To mitigate the chances of a nuke spell removing one of those units.
I wouldn't call these lists terrible. They're more what I'd call Fantasy rather than the big Deathstars smashing into each other that tends to be how you run lists.
Loved the list variety but a few too many errors. Many people have pointed them out already but didn’t see anyone commenting about banners dying when a unit flees. Would’ve made some difference when orcs rallied a turn later
Those dudes that got attacked by the Demigryph and Greatswords again, their banner should have been dead, when you broke from first combat, right? Great game though, fun with some unusual lists!

Reminds me of old school 6th ed games, when I started playing. Was good to see!
Really enjoyed the multiple units and not having it be giant death star units. Reminds me of playing back in 6th edition.

I support this message.
These lists were terrible, I friggin love it. Well, not terrible, just not what yall usually play which is super fun.

Is today the day Cullens dice rolls are not cursed 🤔
As a heads up, chain lightning can bounce into combat, answered in the BRB FAQ.
Allways, allways love me a good Orcs and Goblins batrep! Keep em coming bois, your doing awesome work!
I dunno what you did, but do more of it. the even battle with the back and forth swings made for one of the best Battle Reports on this channel. thanks guys.

Awesome that the first of the non-kickstarter videos was a Cullen victory! I hope we get to see more in the future!
I remember splitting an orcs vs empire sets with a friend back in middle school to get started. Iconic matchup.

I still think Cullen should get a T-shirt made with the word ANIMOSITY in huge letters....love ya Steve!

Made my day! Thanks for keep up uploading new batreps!
That voice is real life Morty!!

You two would be a riot to play tabletop with
Excellent game, joy to watch. Loved the lists and the chain lightning!
Did you forget that cavalry can fight in 2 ranks as well? Should have had 5 attacks no? 2 models in each rank plus champion
Steve: Lets fate decide for him, goes against fates decision. XD
Twice :D
you forgot the large target rule when shooting at the giant. im fairly sure it give a plus 1 to shooting attacks, I might be thinking of a different edition though.
large target=no cover from obstacles... +1 is a previous edition
As Chris pointed out. +1 to hit was previous edition
Love me some 8th. Nice one Steve and Cullen.👍😁
At 50:30, after failing the fear check, you totally forgot to have Steve's guys defending at weapon skill 1.
Loving the lists.
Don’t you have to declare target of a spell before you cast?
I thought Steve would run over Cullen after that misscast but was a great batrep instead

I wish I knew the points of the models. I would totally math out the value of the chain lightning for you. That was really solid.
Also, that was a great batrep! The back and forth was definitely there, although, I definitely thought Cullen was boned at like 12 different points.
Only four parries. That’s still four sixes. Out of seven. Steve rolls so high so often. I want him to use someone else’s dice
Woop woop! Top video, not even 5 mins in and liking it already. There really are some good weird magic items in the book. :-)
I love these batreps so much! Thanks guys and ggs
Love having no hoards! Made it much more interesting!
This was a really fun battle to watch. Thanks much!
I loved this batrep :) so many twists and turns
Hey guys, love the content, any plans for a dwarfs batrep? Keep it up!
this game was one of the most fun recently
you shoulda bought some gobbos steve, never leave home without em
1:00:34 Cullen has no ranks because disrupted. So loses combat. OOPSIE!
Damn, I love 8th. Such a wild game
What an incredible game. Edge of my seat
Great game, enjoying these batreps
Great job guys!
I wouldn't call these lists terrible. They're more what I'd call Fantasy rather than the big Deathstars smashing into each other that tends to be how you run lists.
That was a great fight. Love Fantasy.
Loving the smaller unit lists. Only zombies and skaven (maybe goblin) really should be hoarding or it detracts from gsmes too much at 2k lists
empire captain should have 3 attacks.
This was real fun to watch. And the cannon was the most worthless unit ever.
You KNOW Cullen loves fantasy. No matter what, he keeps coming back!
If I had his luck I would seriously consider another game 🤣
He toasted Steve in the other days battle.Mind you it was the fan based rule system.
@@lexchaotica190
Must have missed that one. But good for Cullen! He deserves some wins 😁
You also played the giant wrong, it's just D6 hits with "swing club".
Loved the list variety but a few too many errors. Many people have pointed them out already but didn’t see anyone commenting about banners dying when a unit flees. Would’ve made some difference when orcs rallied a turn later
Banners only die when you break from combat, not from flee as a charge reaction or from taking 25% casualties, but maybe that was what you ment?
@@Anecron1 yes combat and it happened 2-3 times in game
No hordes is a great houserule. Keep it for a while.
WHFB staying alive!
Those dudes that got attacked by the Demigryph and Greatswords again, their banner should have been dead, when you broke from first combat, right? Great game though, fun with some unusual lists!
Great game. Keep some 8th Ed coming!
That was a nice chain ⚡⚡⚡
Why wouldnt you put black ork with a mage Steve!? That way Animosity cannot screw your magic at least.
Why check a straight line with the tape measure on its side when this is flexible, just use the tape the regular way cause premeasuring is a thing.
Thank you always!!!!
Boom! Keep it up lads
This was fantastic. More games without horde units please.
More Fantasy! Waagh! Take all the support a poor student can give!!
that was a fun match
well played guys
YEAH I LOVE THE EMPIRE! PRAISE SIGMAR!
These are my favourite battle reports to watch. But SO many rules errors!
If you both have fun then the lists aren't terrible.
Combat wombat
Sorry we say quombat in Oz.
Warhammer Fantasy should be played in BLOCKS!
Noice!
Wooooow
orcs should not flee, period.
Bring Tomb kings!
Yeah hordes are a dumb rule. This is better.
UA-cam Algorithm
First!
More terrible lists!
